I Like It With Rice 😄 The cheapest Michelin star dish in Singapore and purportedly, the world, is a humble plate of Cantonese-style soya sauce chicken from “Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle”. It is served with either rice or noodles and most people seem to opt for the latter but I prefer the former. Even though it comes splashed with the same dark sauce used to cook the chicken, I find rice more ideal as it’s a less intrusive sidekick to the juicy, tender flesh of the fragrant and very flavourful chicken. If you want a more authentic dining experience, I recommend checking out the original hawker stall located inside Chinatown Smith Street Market and Food Centre located at 335 Smith Street #02-126. Be prepared to queue though.

Hearty Plate Of Goodness Finally went to try this after seeing the good reviews! I ordered the noodles instead of the rice since many reviews recommended it (while my mum ordered the rice). And YES, indeed, the noodles were way better! Not that the rice was bad haha it was just nothing special. Whereas the noodles were springy and firm. 😋 The chicken was good too! Soft, juicy and well-marinated. But like what many reviews have mentioned, the char siew was GREAT 😻✨ You should definitely try it!!! The portions were more generous than I expected, considering the really affordable prices!! Be prepared to queue though, we started queuing at 10.05am and only got to eat at 11am 🌚 I really don't like queuing so I probably wouldn't be back again, but as a whole I really enjoyed this meal so it's pretty worth it just for a try :)

Soya Sauce Chicken (Michelin Guide Street Food Festival 2018) Chicken was tender and slippery but what I liked was the sauce. Light but more umami than the normal chicken rice stalls Many thanks to Michelin Guide Singapore for the gracious hosting and @burpple for the invite!
