Pasta e Formaggio (Marina Square Branch) Pictured: Truffle tortellini ($17.90). This was one of their better dish alongside the 鈥渞isotto di caprese e prosciutto parma鈥 ($14.90). The tortellini certainly exuded truffle with every bite and the mushrooms were flavorful enough, but their tortellini itself was average. For the risotto, it was seasoned perfectly and the rice was cooked really nicely and it complemented quite well with the mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. However, the rest of the dishes i tried (mushroom & bacon aglio olio, risotto vegeteriano) were a huge disappointment. The risotto tasted like a identity crisis - a combination of many ingredients but with no lasting impact. For the aglio olio, it was cooked decently (though i wished the linguini was cooked a tad longer), in terms of flavor it was also lacking whereby all i could taste was the overwhelming pepper. The worst thing was their service. They kept getting our orders wrong and we had to constantly order for things we already ordered because they forget. Honestly this whole place was a hott mess. Would not be back. But would try the other branch at oxley tower as i heard good things from there.

Pork Chop Bowl ($11), Lu Rou Fan 2.0 rice bowl ($13), red tea without sugar ($3). Rainy days call for some belly-comforting food and @thesaltedplumsg is where you should exactly go to. Other than their highly popular Taiwanese zi char dishes paired with sweet potato congee, why not try their rice bowl series (available from 11.30am-8.30pm) too? There鈥檚 always something for everyone. Personally, the pork chop bowl is a slightly underrated option. Not extremely fantastic, but the sliced crispy fried pork chop was marinated well, as if there was a fermented bean curd taste and some five spice powder. Nice balance between fat and meat, although the meat was a little tough. Served with pickles, sous-vide egg on rice. A hot favourite, the Lu Rou Fan 2.0, consists of a glorious slab of Braised Pork Belly in Haus Sauce 2.0. Slightly fatty, but incredibly tender slathered in a rich sauce full of spices. Served with bok choy, sous-vide egg on rice. @thesaltedplumsg is a #burpplebeyond partner where you can enjoy 1-for-1 $10 dishes! Great Dinner! We used Burpple beyond (1 for 1 $10 dish) and ordered Burnt Chilli Chicken 2.0 and Oyster Mushrooms & Smashed Potatoes! In addition, we ordered bok choy ($5). First time at the new suntec outlet and they definitely did not disappoint! It was also really interesting bc we happened to be there while food king was filming! Lucky us! I鈥檝e tasted the burnt chilli chicken before at the circular road outlet and it tasted a lil diff this time, which prolly explains why there鈥檚 a 2.0. still delicious, nonetheless! But good to get some drinks because it can be quite spicy for some ppl! For me, the star of the day was the oyster mushrooms! It was my first time trying this dish and i was pleasantly surprised! T鈥檞as crispy and light. Yum! Would definitely be back to try the other dishes! :)

Chilli Crab Scrambled Eggs Back at Cheeky for brunch using Beyond 1-1. Had the chilli crab scrambled eggs (good as usual)and keto bowl which had avo, spinach and cauliflower rice cooked in a herby broth Although it was worth it for 1-1 the waiting time was just a tad too long and service was a bit surly馃檨 Perhaps it was super crowded but I鈥檇 think twice before visiting again

MSW x Coco Ice Cream ($8.80), Chendol Panna Cotta ($6.80), Rockmelon Sago ($6.80). Don鈥檛 leave Enjoy Eating House and Bar without trying some of their signature desserts. A true decadence, the rich top-grade Mao Shan Wang coupled with refreshing coconut ice cream. Every spoonful was so rich in creamy durian as though eating the actual fruit itself, you know they aren鈥檛 lying to you. An interesting creation was the chendol panda cotta, where this local dessert had its green pandan jelly noodles topped on a sweet coconut cream pudding, and drizzled with some sweet fragrant Gula Melaka. At some point, it satisfies the craving of this Italian dessert yet keeping the local-inspired flavour. With the silky cream pudding below, it鈥檚 not difficult to slurp the dessert down within a short period of time. A safer option was the rockmelon sago. Classic combination of sweet rockmelon and sago in naturally-flavored fresh milk. As familiar as it is, nothing out of ordinary.

Saut茅ed Otah ($17.80). A whopping $18 for this seafood main but it鈥檚 also one that had my mind blown. Wrapped in a flower-shaped aluminium foil was some fresh mixed seafood stir-fried in their home-made spicy otah paste. You can expect some prawns, squid, fish slices, vegetables in it, but what was more unexpected were the coconut slices that were cooked together in the otah paste, something that we don鈥檛 come across commonly. Having heard from a Thai colleague who was also present, adding coconut meat into an otah in Thai cuisine is in fact quite common. Interesting twist for me, as the coconut with its fruity creaminess stood out in this otah. Seafood was fresh, and the otah paste was reasonably spicy. Instead of serving a block of otah, the otah was mashed up and crumbled easily upon each scoop. Interesting mouthfeel as there鈥檚 no need for the usual firm bite. Enjoy eating house and bar is a #burpplebeyond partner, imagine getting 2 seafood mains at the price of 1, how worthwhile it is!

Grandma鈥檚 鈥淭e Kar鈥 Beehoon ($12.80/$29.80). Highly raved dish at Enjoy Eating House and Bar, I was curious to find out how tasty it was although I am usually not a fan of pig trotters. Perhaps when Chef Joel inherited his late grandma鈥檚 secret recipe, he inherited the way to cook up a homely taste in his dishes as well, for that鈥檚 what I tasted exactly in this dish. Albeit a dish with few ingredients, the heartwarming feeling was clearly illustrated from the painstaking cooking process of the tender braised pig leg. Still slightly animalic to me personally, but balanced by the smoky wok hei as the pig leg was wok-fried with vermicelli that鈥檚 tossed in a rich essence of the broth. Served with kai lan and shiitake mushrooms. Possibly a dish that would evoke much memories. Enjoy eating house and bar is a #burpplebeyond partner where you can enjoy 1-for-1 mains!
