Signature Sugee Cake What to pair with a cup of Americano? Orange-infused Sugee Cake聽($39)!! It was flavourful but wasn't too dense and heavy. Their quality of bakes never fails to amaze me! Indeed, so Delicious 馃構

Great Sandwiches, Fresh Bakes And Good Coffee Are Why This Muslim-owned Cafe Is Always Full A brand new hip coffee brand from Kyoto just opened up on Arab Street but the whole neighbourhood of Kampong Glam in Singapore already boasts a number of very good cafes that have their own strengths. For eg. Muslim-owned @allthingsdelicious, a place I recently took my parents and relatives visiting from the U.K. and New Zealand, for an afternoon snack. We ordered drinks (the ginger and lychee lassi is lovely), a couple of freshly made sandwiches (their Tuna Melt and the hot-pressed Sriracha Chicken are really appetising with a nice kick of spice plus they both have a generous amount of filling), and a tall slice of Gula Melaka cake (it鈥檚 honestly, one of the best I鈥檝e had in a long time and my Aunty Siew Leng was full of praises for it too). If you are an ice-cream lover, their Affogato which has the coffee served in a cup you can cradle, will be very appealing because they give double scoops of vanilla ice-cream. I have noticed that this cafe is always full because many people drop in for their bakes which are produced fresh on the premises daily. Here are a few of their offerings you can pick from to enjoy with a cuppa or to take away: sweet or savoury scones, assorted tarts, sticky date pudding and more.

For Innovative Plates and Quality Bakes Run by a passionate baker and mother of two, this cheery Arab Street favourite sees an innovative menu and delicious, all-natural bakes. Order up the Shakshouka ($18.90), flaunting beautifully poached eggs and a dollop of cr猫me fra卯che in a sweet, sour and slightly spicy blend of bell peppers, tomatoes and spices. Adventurous eaters, the Chee Cheong Fun ($9.90) 鈥 a fusion take that sees cider vinegar and kale 鈥 is worth a try. Grab a fragrant and biscuity Gula Melaka Scone ($3.50) scone or two after your meal as well. *Halal-certified Photo by Burppler Hungry Girl

It's been a while since we got to spend midweek properly together without the worries of work! We took the opportunity to try @stateland_coffeehouse 's Early Grey Burst with Black Sesame soft serve! It was fun and scary (cos it might just squirt into your face?!) bursting the mochi donut balls and watching the chocolate earl grey lava slowly oooze out. The crisps also added some texture to this dessert and it reminded us of kiddy breakfast cereal! We enjoyed the combination for a while but towards the end, we felt it was getting a bit too sweet for our liking. It's still worth a try though! We鈥檒l probably try the plain mochi donut with no dangerous lava centre next!!!

I'll be CAULIFLOWER wishing on these stars 馃幎 . Usually not a fan of cauliflower but the Curried Fried Cauliflower from Stateland Coffeehouse has completely won me over! Seasoned with curry powder and garnished with cheese flakes and spring onions, these cauliflower bits make for an addictive snack that I couldn't stop munching on! 馃槏 . As far as I know, this is only available as a side dish for their Laksa Egg Benedict (good stuff, I tell you) but I sure hope that @stateland_coffeehouse will sell this on its own! 馃檶

Say hello to the weekend with a scrumptious Asian fusion weekend brunch at Stateland Coffehouse! 馃 . Featuring their Laksa Egg Benedict ($22) and Tom-Yum Pancake with Thai Basil Pork ($20) 馃嵔 . The former puts a creative spin on the ubiquitous egg benedict dish with the standard toast being swapped out for their seasonal croissant 馃 While poached eggs are still a mainstay, the dish is tszujed up with laksa hollandaise sauce and cheddar cheese 馃, and paired with a side of curried fried cauliflower that is wonderfully seasoned with spices and oh so addictive to munch on! Left a little confused by why the croissant is a seasonal crossiant but hey when the food is great, there's no need for that many questions is there? 馃槀 . As for the latter, it's definitely something novel which I have not seen anywhere else before! Here, a tom yum scented souffl茅 pancake 馃尪馃 lies concealed under a generous serving of Thai basil pork sauce replete with chunks of minced pork. The dish is then topped with a fried egg 馃嵆 and a crispy papadum. Though not as Instagrammable as the Laksa Egg Benedict, this was my favourite out of the two brunch dishes as I felt that all the elements of the dish went cohesively well together! Although the souffl茅 pancake wasn't as fluffy as we had hoped it would be, it was nonetheless infused with the distinctive tom yum flavour which was nicely complemented by the other Asian flavours in the dish. Delicious! 馃構
