Lemon Ginger Spring 5-Course Degustation Menu A milk chocolate financier acted as a centerpiece for torched meringue, lemon cream and ginger spiced sorbet. Sprinkled around was spice-infused jelly cubes and toasted tiger nuts. A ginger ribbon tuile was delicately balanced on top. It was paired with my favorite wine pairing of the night, Antech Semi Sweet Sparkling, a mellow, sweet champagne. And champagne is always fun. This was a close second favorite among the five courses. The refreshing lemon flavor threaded through all the elements of the dessert, balanced out the richness of the financier. Yet there was a subtle undertone of spice in the jelly cubes, meringue and tuile that was not too overpowering. The nuts and tuile added amazing texture and crunch to the dish. It was a wonderful end to the degustation menu.

Kinkan Osmanthus Tea Spring 5-Course Degustation Menu Kinkan is the Japanese name for kumquat, which I have never tried before. In this Japanese-inspired dessert the fruit was paired with pistachio crumble, osmanthus tea gel and shungiku ice cream. Smoked cream, olive oil marinaded pomelo and sprinklings of yuzu powder finished off the dish. It was paired with a glass of Gramona Gewurztraminer, a delicious, sweet white wine. I am thoroughly impressed by the fact that none of the alcoholic drinks had that characteristic bitter aftertaste that comes from cheap alcohol. The dessert itself was reminiscent of an apple crumble. The pistachio's earthy flavor contrasted perfectly with the natural citrusy sweetness of the kinkan and the tea-like taste of the shinjuku ice cream. It was absolutely delicious and nostalgic.

Pandan Chocolate Spring 5-Course Degustation Menu This unassuming block of chocolate cake turned out to be my favorite in the 5 courses. I adore chocolate so I was so excited when this arrived. It was triple layered; pandan sponge cake and Orelys ganache sandwiched Japanese black sugar parfait. The stack was then dipped in a dark chocolate coating. The Orelys ganache totally blew me away. Made from blond chocolate and containing dark muscovado sugar, it was rich, creamy and had surprise bits of fresh grape that popped in my mouth and helped cut through the richness of the dessert. I couldn't stop eating it. I only wished it was larger, it was so good.

Simply Chocolate Waffle! As per title, its simply chocolate. Every mouthful is filled with creamy goodness of the chocolate which is not that simple to make but simple to eat, that even kids would enjoy. Waffles was a tad average at best, firm but lack of crispyness which I much fancy Overall still a good hangout place. Cost: $7.80 Personal Ratings: 4/5

Coconut Ice Cream Even though I have this few weeks ago, but when I writing this post I actually start to have the craving! This is probably the best coconut ice cream I have tasted for awhile. You could bites some coconut skins in the ice cream, which make them so good and special. Okay I must find some time to re-visit again.

Single Scoop Cone Ice-Cream ($4.20) After four days of a rather detrimental hiatus peppered with malignity, doubts in self-preservation and the textbook stubbornness to procrastinate, @thintbites is back. On a side note, the weather has been unbearably hot for the past few days and it is literally searing me to a medium-rare doneness as we speak. On a more appealing note, there is no shortage of bustling ice cream caf茅s and air-conditioned waffle joints to beat the heat in while enjoying a cool and creamy soft-serve. One of these places is one that never fails to satisfy this sweet tooth. The Daily Scoop is a fun and whimsically charming ice cream caf茅 that is certainly known for their wide pool of imaginative flavours that are always refreshed daily. From a refreshingly zesty spoonful of Lychee Martini ice cream to a more indulgent treat of a Salted Mr Brown (the perennial favourite flavour), one can expect to be spoilt for choice in selecting a favourite ice cream flavour from their ever-expanding roster of creamy goodness. I would always find myself going for a delightful Single Scoop ($3.80, +$0.40 for cronchy cone), whether be it a mid-day treat or a sweet ending after a meal at the village itself. A godsend water dispenser lies in the quaint decor of the restaurant, providing a crisp and clear beverage to cleanse your palate after having indulged in some of The Daily Scoop鈥檚 homemade creamy delights. Would definitely prescribe a scoop or two to anyone to escape the oppressing heat of the 35掳C weather at the moment.

Reverso + Teh Tarik The reverso chocolate flavour was awesome, dark enough and not too sweet with nice mix of brownie 馃構 The teh tarik flavour was a nice companion to the reverso chocolate as it provided some "lightness" and cleaned the palate for another bite of chocolate. Great combination imo! Rating: 4.5/5

Mudpie Is Love - Go To Place For Mud Pies! Mud Pie Cost: $5.90 Description: The mud pie contains chocolate, cookies and cream, burnt caramel ice cream with Oreo cookie crumbs Service: efficient and helpful service staff who willingly helped to take photos for us Ambience: Some might find the shop鈥檚 interior rather small and a little narrow but I suppose this adds to the cosy vibes of the place. As it鈥檚 a small shop, you might not be able to get seats inside. My friends and I had to sit outside which was not too bad either as they had ceiling fans! Personal take: I personally love this mud pie so much! Brought my friends here to celebrate a friend鈥檚 birthday and they were amazed by how good it was too. Island creamery is definitely my go to place for mud pies. If ever you are craving a dessert that is cake-like and yet icecream-ish, then get the mud pie. It is a perfect blend of neutral old school flavors that many will love and the cookie crumbs and chocolate borders provide a good texture contrast to the inner ice cream core. 4 of us shared this mud pie, which was just enough for us. But I definitely can wallop one whole mud pie on my own :)
