[📍Porta, Singapore] Had the 3 course menu at Porta thanks to @burpple beyond 1-for-1. Appetisers 1) Spanish Octopus ❤ -this was the better dish out of the two. The octopus was surprisingly very tender and flavourful (tho we find it a little too salty). The grilled baby potatoes had a very nice creamy and dense texture. 2) Grilled summer vegetables with hummus (a little too salty) Mains: 1) Rib eye steak -They did the done-ness till perfection😊 so yeapss 2) Barramundi with Ratatouille and mussels. -The barramundi was of premium quality and i really love the firm flakes. It really complemented well with the slight tangy ratatoulie sauce Dessert: 1) Not your usual tiramisu❤ -This deconstructed was the better out of the two. I love the dark chocolate cake (i supposed it is a cake??) as it was dense, bitter and not too sweet :) 2) Key Lime Meringue -Chose this as the staff told me it was the least sweet option. It was light and the slight sour accent of the lime was very appetizing. But i find it a little too sweet (i guess its the meringue). However, its still quite nice. I like how we chose one heavy dessert and one light dessert because they really complement well😊 we didnt feel too jelat ====== Overall we felt that the food was good. Not mind-blowingly fantastic but was above average. The service was the main highlight. The staff were very attentive and the service they provide was really the best we had (even more pricey or atas restaurants didnt had such good service). Ratings: 8/10 (its worth with burpple 1-for-1) No go Can go Must go😊 (if you have burpple 1-for -1 then yeaps its affordable) #portasg #burpple

3-Course Set Decided to try the 3-Course Set ($60) at Porta as there is an one-for-one deal on Burpple Beyond:) The set comprised of your choice of appetiser, mains and dessert, and every dish was surprisingly good! For appetiser, we had Spanish Octopus, Spicy Salmon Tartare and Prawn and Avocado. The spicy salmon tartare was refreshing and tasty. For mains, we had Prawn and Chorizo Linguine, Iberian Pork Secreto and Rib Eye Steak. The steak was super soft and juicy, love it! The tender Iberian pork shoulder is drizzled in a sweet and tangy sauce and served with creamy mash and cherry tomatoes. We ended dinner with a moderately sweet treat of Spiced Apple Tarte Tatin and a deconstructed Tiramisu. This is my first time to Porta and I’m pretty impressed with their food and service😍!

Prawn and Chorizo The linguine was supposedly one of the recommended dishes here but the entire dish was way too salty. The chorizo is already salty on this own and it didn’t help that it was served in huge chunks and unevenly distributed throughout the pasta. The capers added in didn’t help either. However the prawns were fresh and they were generous with the serving size.

yakitori sticks These were relatively pricier. The teba (mid joint wing, $3.50++) was nicely charred and flavoured with salt, but the meat itself was quite fatty and less tasty. The buta bara (boneless pork belly with onion, $2.90++) fared much better! The tender pork was bursting with flavour, and well complemented by the sweet onions.

1-for-1 bara chirashi don Snagged a burpple beyond deal at a new yakitori place! The restaurant filled up quickly at lunch time. Although the app states that alacarte specials can be redeemed for all items, do note that it is only applicable for bara chirashi ($13.90++) & chirashi ($25++) dons. The portion looks small, but it was surprisingly filling and very tasty! There was a good variety of fish and all were fresh. Very good value for money!

Mikawa Yakitori I first had Mikawa at the Siglap outlet and was so happy to see another outlet opened in the west. Ordered the Yakitori Platter (both pork and chicken). One for one platter on Burpple beyond ✌🏻The Yakitori was seasoned with salt. I enjoyed the platter even though the flavors were not intense with mentaiko or Tare. Good for my pregnant belly which can’t take food that’s too oily or intense now. We also had the stir fried yaki soba too - my friend preferred it with more sauce but I enjoyed the lightness of the dish and it was packed with quite lot of vegetables! Will return to Mikawa again for its convenience, good service and affordably priced food of standard :)

Seating elegantly in One Fullerton, @forlinosg serves exquisite Italian cuisine while offering a stunning view of the Marina Bay waterfront, makes it a great date night venue. Was excited to try the Hokkaido Sea Urchin Linguine ($46), made of “Giuseppe Cocco” Linguine and Hokkaido Sea Urchin Sardinian Bottarga, the main reason why we were there. Sauce clinging to each strand, it gives a slight brine flavour from sea urchins and cured fish roe. Not my favourite dish from that lunch though. P.S: #BurppleBeyond has 1-for-1 mains for this place. So it’s totally value for money~ FORLINO Address: 1 Fullerton Road, Unit 02-06, One Fullerton, Singapore 049213 #forlino #forlinosg

So Rich, So Decadent, Such A Winner The Risotto ($36++) won my heart too, but I doubt I could finish this on my own. Remember, folks, sharing is caring. Firstly, this is a pretty rich dish. Just look at all that Acquerello rice in the cured egg yolk sauce. Even with the squeeze of Amalfi lemon that cuts through the richness nicely, it still is heavy on the palate. Secondly, & this is just my own personal thing, I can't eat raw fish. I did sneak some small bites of the blue fin tuna, which was pretty heavenly in terms of contrasting taste & texture to the risotto. Nicely executed. Definitely one for sharing, & I hope that whoever I next come here with will want to share this with me 😁 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats only 🖥 Accepts reservations - I used Chope 🍽 Burpple Beyond partner

Quite Average I had high expectations for the Linguine ($42++) with Hokkaido Sea Urchin, but it was at best okay to me. I felt that the sea urchin should have been fresher, & I wished it were creamier. The Sardinian Bottarta (fish roe), however, added a nice briney flavour to this dish. But overall, unfortunately, this isn't my favourite dish. 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats only 🖥 Accepts reservations - I used Chope 🍽 Burpple Beyond partner

Wagyu Beef Cheek With Roast Peppers ($28++) Don’t quite know where to begin for this, but wow. Finally understand what everyone was saying about not needing a knife, cause this has to be one of the most tender beef cheeks I’ve ever encountered 🤭🤭 Juicy and fork-level-easy tender, this is definitely a must try and still can’t get over how good this is?? Even the roasted peppers and olives on the side were delicious (I hate olives btw), with a normal side of mash. Only gripe would be that since it’s such an amazing dish, it’s only lacking that extra touch to the mashed potatoes to complete the perfection. Definitely do try especially when there’s eatigo 50% at dinnertime, and every other app possible like burpple/entertainer 👍🏻👍🏻

Linguine With Crab, Cherry Tomatoes And Peperoncino ($25++) Although clearly store-bought pasta, appreciated that the pasta was done al dente and nicely tossed in olive oil. Half expected the dish to come in tomato sauce, but like this version as well! Decent serving of toppings and definitely quite a satisfying olive-oil-based pasta! 🤤🤤 Really worth it especially with eatigo/burpple/entertainer for the food and anbience 👍🏻👍🏻

Baccala Cakes With Sea Urchin Sabayon ($18++) Understood nothing of the name but so glad we ordered it!! Essentially two salted cod cake with cheesy uni sauce, and both of went so well with each other and the salted cod cake was so good with so much flavour with every bite?? 🤤🤤 Don’t quite know how to describe this so do try this for yourself!! (especially since this place is available for eatigo 50% off at dinner time too!)

Chashu Ramen The place itself was a little hard to find, and sad to say central mall seemed deserted with only a few restaurants around the vicinity. The interior of Manpei, however, has a nice Japanese set up and it makes you feel relaxed while dining there. Moving on to food, the best part about this dish was the chashu as it had a nicely charred flavour to it. The noodles and soup are just average. The total bill amounted to about $18. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an affordable bowl of noodles 🙂

Satisfying Meal In A Quiet Corner We had Tonkotsu Charsiew Ramen (~$14, spicy and normal), very flavourful. The Salmon and Egg Roe Donburi rice bowl (~$14) that we got was a little small and the miso soup that came with it was a tad salty. But the Pork Katsu Donburi rice bowl was not bad.

Slow Service But Yummy Call me auntie or a penny-pincher, but I was looking for a convenient place in the area to have an optimized dinner. Somewhere where I can use the Chope-Dollars Promo code that I got from Chope's birthday wheel roulette, & that also is a Burpple Beyond partner. Manpei fit the bill perfectly 😂 This wasn't an easy place to find; I actually walked by the first time without realizing! Service was slow because the place was understaffed, but not really something to complain about. Especially when you're sitting in air-conditioned comfort on a chill night. I was surprised by this bowl of Tonkotsu Chasyu Ramen ($14++); it looks simple but is very much delicious & also at a good price point even without Burpple Beyond's 1-for-1 deal. Think bouncy ramen in a creamy broth, with the crunchy, thinly sliced black fungus adding good contrast to the springy noodles. Also, the all-important pork slices didn't have a crazy amount of fat, yet still remained tender & delicious. Would love to return another time for some comforting ramen... If I'm not rushing anywhere after that. 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats only 🖥 Accepts reservations - I used Chope 🍽 Burpple Beyond partner

New Omakase Menu ($128++ for 8 course). The refreshed Gake's menu will take diners on a surprise journey. Other than stating your dietary restrictions, you'll be kept in suspense about what's in the menu. 🔸 But common to every omakase would be this first dish, consisting of a Smoked Quail Egg with Avruga Caviar, or Smoked “ajitsuke uzura”; and Millefeuille Potato with Truffle Rugout. The truffle rugout surprised me, it's not the prettiest paste around but it's was very flavourful, made from a mix of Japanese forest mushrooms, shallots and white truffle oil, before being stewed for 2 hours to get the hearty flavors of the precious mushrooms. 🔸🔸 [Tasting] #gakesg #quailegg #potato #japfoodsg #foodphotography #exploresingapore #burpple #singaporeinsiders #eatoutsg #sgjapfood #sgfood #foodsg #instasg #foodstagram #instafood #instafood_sg #singaporefood #f52grams #japanesefoodsg #hungrygowhere #cafesg #foodgasm #sgfoodblogger #onthetable #sgig #yummy #eeeeeats #singapore #japanesefood

Truffle Wagyu Don and Unagi Don They only had a few items for the Burpple Beyond deal but I think the sets were pretty worth it nevertheless. I got the truffle wagyu don ($40++) and my friends got the unagi Don ($18++). Though there was a strong truffle flavour for the Don, I still felt like the beef wasn’t that amazing. I’ve had the same kind of beef for cheaper price points. The unagi was pretty generous though, which I thought was worthwhile at a $9 price point after Burpple Beyond. So if I were you, I’d skip the beef and go straight for the unagi! It’s pretty damn good.

Uni/Cavier Hiyashi Somen (S$38++) Ambience was amazing and definitely a great place to chill with loved ones or friends. Food might be alittle pricey but it was quite a pleasant experience. Would love for them to put alittle more attention to the plating of this dish though. Creamy texture with uni served on soft somen enhanced by the crunchy ebi and cavier. Had the A4 Kageshima Wagyu Donburi (S$40++) as well, which was even more delightful. The truffled flavored rich and the tender beef mashes well with a soft boiled egg. Lastly the vegetable gives it the crunch needed to complete the dish. Overall definitely worth visiting since it's on burpple! Cheers!
