Chicken Rice & Otah @ Chatterbox Great food and service at Chatterbox, best known for its chicken rice. Generous portion for the price and the chicken meat was extremely tender. (We requested for chicken drumstick) 🍚🍗

Chatterbox, located at Hilton Singapore Orchard, is a local restaurant known for its innovative yet nostalgic Singaporean cuisine,the famous chicken rice. Chatterbox launched new menu, created by Executive Chef Liew Tien Heong and features revamped classics dishes. The new menu that I tried are the Grilled Pork Rib with Fruit Sauce and Fried Mantou, Chilli Prawns with Fried Mantou and BBQ Sambal Seafood Platter. The grilled pork is very tender, served with savoury sweet sauce. Meanwhile the chilli prawns with fried mantou is fresh prawns served in thick sweet and tangy sauce. The BBQ sambal seafood is perfect to sharing, squid, king prawns and lala seasoned in spicy chilli paste ( a bit spicy for little boss). For dessert, there are Peanut Glutinous Rice Balls coated with crushed peanuts or in sweet ginger broth 📍Chatterbox 333 Orchard rd Hilton Singapore Orchard, #05-03

Average food Came here to try the iconic chicken rice. Ordered the individual portion of chicken rice to share, it was good, rice cooked well and flavourful with stock, chicken was tad dry, however well marinated. The chicken slices (boneless) were on a bed of lettuce and few slices of cucumber. Chili was not too garlicky (which I preferred to avoid garlic breath) which was accompanied with ginger purée and dark soy sauce. Also tried the char kway teow, rojak and oyster omelette. The char kway teow had a good wok hei to it. The rojak had variety of ingredients from the usual fruits and additional ones like jambu (water apple). The yu tiao (dough fritters pieces) were crispy and coated with sauce. Taste wise a tad sweet IMO. Interesting rendition of oyster omelette which reminded me of the Japanese omu rice where the ingredients are encased within the egg omelette and the tangy chili sauce dosed on top of the omelette like a sauce. Would have been better if the chili sauce to be served on the side instead as the omelette and oysters were drowning in the sauce covering all taste with the sauce. Also, texture wise, it’s all soft and lumpy. Unlike the hawker version which has crispy bits. Wasn’t expecting much from the coconut shake however was pleasantly surprised (after the shocked from the oyster omelette). Blended coconut ice cream with juice, bits of chin chow and chunky red bean brought highlight to simple ingredients. Yummy! On the service side, it could have been better, as we have asked to change our seats not once but multiple times throughout our dining session as they were high stools and my pregnant girlfriend was 7 months pregnant was quite a big tummy hence the chair was uncomfortable and the table clearance barely touching her tummy. Not mentioning there were empty tables which was “reserved”. Disappointing with the lack of human touch.

Mostly good food Tried @acidbarsg for the first time and I think although there were some misses, the dishes that were good were wonderful 😍 with live bands and happy hour promotions, this would be a good place for dinner and drinks with friends! The Spice Route Chicken ($30) may take some time to prepare, but it was a worthwhile wait. The chicken was very well marinated and roasted, and it had a slight char to the skin. The meat was very tender and succulent. Loved the spice rub, as the chicken was packed with flavour! The Otah Otah Fried Rice ($24) was addictive. Fragrant and packed with flavour, it was moderately spicy and I loved the addition of Sakura Ebi! If you are looking for some bar food, the Kang Kong Keras ($16) hits the spot. A generous bowl of fried Kang Kong was given, and it was addictive due to its crispy exterior. Perfect with the Thai chilli sauce given. The Rickshaw Noodles ($18) was unfortunately forgettable, as it generally lacked flavour. Truffle Fries ($16) was decent, nothing much to shout out about. Generally a good central location to meet for good drinks and food.

Chilling on a Friday night Our orders: Hemingway Daiquirl $20++ Guinness Draught $17++ Gls Les Sardines $18++ Acqua Panna $9++ Gls Les Sardines My drink was alright, not amazing because it has a bland aftertaste. Acqua Panna They did not serve tap water hence we had to get a bottled of water which I was surprised that it cost us $9. Overall, the ambience was great. They had live band which we could hear from the outside. It would be nice if we were seated inside closer to the band.

Bubbly brunch with the bubbly people ❣️ I had 7 glasses of prosecco 🙊 nice ambience to hang out with your girlfriends and just talk about life and how our travel plans will be cancelled because of COVID 😢 PRAYING FOR WORLD PEACE 🙏🏼 (by the way i heard its $22 additional for the free flow prosecco now...when i went, i only had to pay for the brunch 🤑)

Cocktail Night Walking around an alley can get dangerous. Grab some alcohol to disinfect. When so many people does it, it only make sense to build a bar hence named alley bar. You notice the huge mirror on entry which is magnificently placed. 8/10. Would get drunk here again.

Interesting Drinks From left corner anti-clockwise: Lapsang souchong, Kaya king mai tai, Tommy’s margarita and classic mojito. Everything was generally not bad, except that the lapsang souchong was way too smokey for our liking and kaya king mai tai was way too sweet. Experimental but I’d say stick with the classic cocktails.

Interesting Cocktail Tastes Just Like Popcorn In an age where there is high demand for white rabbit candy blended down into milkshakes, I cannot fault Alleybar's high-effort execution of a quirky idea — a 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻 ($18) cocktail. - The key ingredient was the Sailor Jerry gin infused with actual popcorn, imparting an agreeable dose of popcorn fragrance to the molasses-rich spirit. Mixing with salted caramel and orange bitters, the resulting concoction was savoury-sweet and slightly buttery in taste, matched with a hit of toasty caramel sweetness. I didn't find it particularly cloying, but I can imagine someone finding it so. - I'd liken it almost to liquid caramel popcorn, in a way which carried its own charm. Admittedly, I'm not sure if I want to drink liquefied popcorn and it didn't really appeal to me. Okay food The fish and chips were good, 4/5. But the spaghetti and meatballs were nothing to write home about. Other than that, the place is noisy cos it’s an open bar. Don’t go to this branch if you’re pregnant because there’s a tonne of second-hand smoke around.

Bar Food Had being seeing Harry's available around Singapore especially Town area and decided to give it a try by booking via Eatigo. My friend and I ordered the Amigo Nachos ($19), Wings Platter ($30) & Spicy Chicken Burger ($22). The Amigo Nachos they offered today change the Beef Chilli Deep to Nacho Cheese as my friend can't eat beef which is a plus point. Mozerella Cheese is melted on top of the Nacho Chips which is new to me and it was a delightful experience. The Wings Platter consist of 12 chicken wing & drumlet which is a mix of Sriracha Chilli Jam, Harry's Spice & Mirin Soy with 4 each. Nothing really unique other than different sauces and quite pricey as it is $2.50 for each wing or drumlet. The Spicy Chicken Burger they used a Marinated Fried Chicken Leg and it was tender which is not bad. With the Eatigo discount of 50%, we paid a total of $41.78. I would come back again to try the other dishes with Eatigo discount. Else, it can be a pricey meal.

Harrys Burger $25 Great looking burger with coleslaw and fries as sides. The service is fast and burger size is decent. The beef is juicy and tasty. Tip: 50% off on eatigo on special times. 4 on 5

Beef/Pork Buffet Lunch ($19.90) Only two different choices of meat (beef and pork) with different vegetables/mushrooms to choose from. 3 soup bases (shabu shabu, pork broth, sukiyaki) and we chose the pork broth. Surprisingly quite filling. Pork was tender and recommended. Beef was a little gamey and tough, even though it wasn't cooked for long - probably because of the cut. Almost full house on weekend. Bought the voucher on fave but it seems like there was a more worth it deal on shopback at $34.90 for 2 pax with calpis drink. Soup became extremely salty after that though. Had to drink lots of water after that. Seems like a lot of items (eggs, other jap side dishes) in the previous reviews are also not there anymore :(

Cheap Wagyu Beef Steamboat Buffet! A no-frills steamboat buffet, this place offers only (1) wagyu beef and (2) pork. Alongside you get ONE egg, and an assortment of vegetables. This was good enough for me! The beef came in varying fattiness; my first order was thin with minimal marbling, whereas my second order of beef was thicker with beautiful streaks lining it. Photographed was my first tray! You get to pick the soup of your choice, and I got sukiyaki. The soup was sweet without bring overpowering, and complemented the meat and vegetables well. The cooked food available (fried pork cutlet, which was bland) disappeared as quickly as it came. They also have a pot of Japanese curry and soup available. I love the curry! It was thick and creamy (pictured behind the egg). Total was $38 for 2 people on Fave. It was worth the price considering the quality of meat! 🙂 please do make a booking in advance as they advised me to reserve in the future before walk-ins. They may choose to turn you down.

Tako Wasabi Most patrons come here for the shabu shabu hotpot, but it’s the à la carte izakaya-style dishes that shine in my opinion. Take this appetizer of chopped raw octopus for example. Slimy bits of sweet and succulent octopus punctuated with a nostril stinging hit of wasabi, the perfect accompaniment to the restaurant’s wide range of sakes. I must also add that they do an insane 1.5 hr alcohol free flow here and the best thing is that they open till 3am every single day. Taste: 3.5/5

Pork ribs stew 🥘 Squid & leek pancake 🦑 Always craving for pork ribs stew from masizzim!! Both the soy and spicy taste good and it’s a must order! Used to really like the squid and leek pancake because it’s crispy but nowadays it’s a tad too oily for my liking. Pork ribs stew and pancake are more than enough for 2 pax to share (around $18.50 each after ++) because the stew comes with choice of noodles (glass noodles/udon) and a bowl of rice. Queue is still v long during dinner and weekends but not crowded during weekday lunch.

Wonderful experience! Had a wonderful experience at Masizzim last week. Had the bulgogi and their beef stew. The stew was absolutely filled with flavors and I couldn't help but had to get a second portion of it. Ambience and service was really good as well!

Lunch Experience Dining at Masizzim Have ordered the pork rib stew to go along with the Bimbimbap for a lunch meetup with my friend. The pork rib portions were really generous and the meat was fresh and succulent. Had a really full and nutritious meal there as the broth was rich and spicy. Definitely a good place for a quick lunch meetup with friends. 10/10 :)

Harvest of the Sea seafood extravaganza buffet with a one-time serving of a half lobster each 🦞 salted egg crab was good although it was rather small, but we ordered quite a few rounds to make up for it! fresh oysters and sashimi was an added bonus 👍🏻 try to catch the card promos with 1f1 deals to get the most bang for your buck!

👉Harvest Of The Sea Buffer Dinner👈 Indulge in some of the finest selection of fresh seafood, crab feast (serving 3 different flavours - black pepper, salted egg & chilli) as well as a rotating themed live station that’s different everyday. 。 Special mentions go to their freshly shucked oysters, half baked lobsters (one complimentary serving per diner) and the DIY laksa station. It was quite a pity that they served crabs that weren’t fresh (probably frozen). Maybe it’s just that day 🤔

Perenakan Food Fiesta On selected dates, this restaurant offers live music for lunch. Good food in a vibrant environment. Love their varieties of food including awesome desserts!

So-so and overpriced 5/10, food was so-so and overpriced. Salmon poke bowl was disappointing - just raw ingredients, some salmon and a small spoon of sauce

Fish & Chips Not good and overpriced.. the fish taste very bland. Fries very little. Dish is about $20+ .. Will not go back again

Slipper Lobster Linguine - $24 The dish looks magnificent like a hawk looking at you from the plate. It has zucchinis, roasted peppers, bird's eye chilli, shellfish bisque to make the lobster and the linguine tasty and saucy. Love almost everything on Prive's menu

MS6 Wagyu Striploin 250g Really tender and soft! It had a rich flavour and buttery mouthfeel to it with a slightly sweet finish. ☺️ [8.5/10]

California cut 160g ($91) The prime rib was carved right before us. Though the smallest cut available, the portion was rather huge, around a hand-size. Cooked perfectly to medium rare, it was quite lean and had an even pink colour throughout which made the beef softer — different from regular grilled steakhouses. 😋 Soaking in beef jus, the meaty juicy beef was accompanied with light fluffy mashed potatoes that melted in my mouth! The puffy yorkshire pudding with slightly crisp sides paired well with the meat juices, I loved it as it reminded me of a sweet eggy french toast!! [8.5/10]

Lunch Set This was part of their 3 course lunch set where we opted for the truffle mushroom soup as the appetizer and ribeye steak and barramundi fish for the mains. we ended with the burnt cheesecake and honeycomb ice cream as desserts. the barramundi fish was delightful. skin was crispy, the fish was so smooth and i enjoyed it with the mashed potatoes. the sauce was on the saltier side. the steak was served with thyme butter and thick cut fries

Crème Brûlée ($16) a good end to a lovely meal. the crème brûlée was super soft and eggy. i love it!!! the sugar was also caramelised nicely

Mac and Cheese ($22) the main reason why i decided to visit bedrock was for their mac and cheese. the macaroni was not the typical curved shaped kind, but rather it’s the skinner and longer type. cheese was nicely burnt to give a nice crust and was not too salty as well
