Review: Wheeler鈥檚 Yard Tried the Porky Bowl + Ginger Lemonade [$24+/set]. I would say the drink is an acquired taste (My partner wasn鈥檛 too fond with the taste actually, but I鈥檓 okok with it). The Porky bowl is like any other Japanese Don, except the usual Pork Katsu is replaced with Bacon, which I have no complaints about since bacon is always good. But the steep price may deter me from going again, unless I use the burpple 1 for 1 to offset the cost.

60 Deg Chicken Breast ($18.90+) The dish is amazing. The chicken was tender even though it is the breast meat. The mashed potatoes exceeded my expectation and it had a very good consistency. Worthwhile to try with the burpple 1 for 1, otherwise price may be a bit steep (although the price is the usual cafe price).

Don鈥檛 Worry , You Won鈥檛 Have Any Problem! Unless one is from Szechuan or Hunan, it鈥檇 be hard to eat these dishes often, but once in a while, it鈥檚 extremely satisfying. This location serves the best food among the different SCDH outlets - flavourful, spicy but not numbing. There are non-spicy dishes from other Chinese cuisines, but frankly such dishes (eg. Peking duck) are not as good as those at the better Cantonese restaurants in town. The classic Szechuan dishes are outstanding - sliced pork in garlic and chilli sauce, Chong Qing diced chicken, beef and tripe in chilli sauce, boiled fish in Sichuan pepper sauce, dumpling in sour and spicy sauce. They might help kill corona virus! The view is fabulous, service is attentive, and prices are not outrageous for the quality and location.

Cheeseburger [$10] at a special Tuesday promotional price of $10, this double-pattied(!!!) cheeseburger is amazinggg. the patty was flavourful and well seasoned with hints of smoky charcoal fragrance. leaning towards a medium-rare doneness, the meat was slightly pink in the middle and remained tender throughout, melding perfectly with the cheese. oh and the bunssss 馃槏 slightly crackly tops, insanely soft and fluffy insides. buttered as well! so glad I finally made the trip down. will be back every Tuesday from now on 馃お also if you鈥檙e planning to go as well, do make a reservation beforehand! it was really crowded when I went and I was so thankful I made a reservation because there was a queue 馃檴 4.8/5

Beef Short Rib The third item of my order, the Beef Short Rib. Again, they鈥檝e done such a good job with this! The meat was Super tender, it falls off the bone! It鈥檚 covered with a thick layer of pepper, nice for some fiery melt in your mouth beef initially. However, midway through, I had to scrap off some of it as it over-powered the flavour of the beef. I鈥檇 say, keep to their beef dishes as they do do fantastically well with them!

Beef Brisket I鈥檓 don鈥檛 usually have beef brisket, or rather it鈥檚 not my first choice for beef due to the texture. However, MeatSmith has done a fabulous job with it! It鈥檚 so tender it tears (cuts) as you cut it, and melts in your mouth. Plus, the taste is just right - flavourful and peppery (yet not overtly over-powered by either). 馃憤馃憤

Crowd pleaser Looks like you can鈥檛 go wrong with the Winestone Signature Burger ($27++). The portion was large, the wagyu patty tender, and there was a generous serving of portobello mushroom. That might be a minus if you do not enjoy mushrooms, as the taste often overshadowed the other components of the burger.

Fancy beef bolognese Ordered the ragout tagliatelle ($25++), which turned out to be a fancy beef bolognese that still isn鈥檛 the best out there :鈥( The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce rich. However, dish felt cheap with the use of ground beef that didn鈥檛 have much bite to it. It also turned out to be jelak / fairly overwhelming about halfway through the dish. Perplexing as they are generous with the ingredients for the seafood risotto (also heavy tasting, but very much worth its price point). But worth a mention that service was good :) TL;DR you really have to love beef bolognese to enjoy this dish (which I did), but likely leave feeling cheated.

rich risotto The braised seafood risotto ($28++) was easily my favourite. The short grains had a great bite, and I was impressed with the rich seafood bisque! Every mouth was a burst of creamy flavours. The portion of seafood was extremely generous - there were crayfish, mussels, prawns and even scallops?! Each component was fresh and succulent, retaining its natural sweetness. It can get overwhelming with its strong flavours and large serving, so this is best shared. But I鈥檒l be back for this! 馃専
