Over The Moon New York Cheesecake One of my favourite cheesecake places 🥳 Very friendly counter staff too! Initially, was sad that the durian cheesecake was sold out, but she recommended the chocolate cheesecake, which tastes great! Verdict: great variety of choices, and all taste awesome!! My family love it as well. 👏🏻👏🏻 the texture is great even after storing in freezer for a few days Friendly staff also kindly advice me that: cakes can only be out max. 1 hr; if stored in freezer, can last ~ 2 wks; if in fridge, ~3 days Redeemed the Beyond (3-for-3 slices) • Naughty and Nice (Devil’s Chocolate Cheesecake) (O.P. $5.90) • Paws of Fury (Yuan Yang Coffee & Tea Cheesecake) (O.P. $6.90) • Maneki Neko (Yuzu Cheesecake) (O.P. $7.90) • Madam’Roselle Cheesecake (Roselle Yogurt Cheesecake) (O.P. $6.90) • Once in the Blue Moon (Blueberry Cheesecake) (O.P. $5.90) • Over The Moon (New York Cheesecake) (O.P. $5.90) Total cost: $21.70

Interesting Cake! Props to them for exploring a favourite local drink — the 𝙔𝙪𝙖𝙣 𝙔𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙠𝙚 (~$7.90) had a stronger mocha- like taste to it, though the tea and coffee flavours weren’t properly distinct.☕️ Ig @goodfomood

Not As Good As Before My go to place for cheesecake, or at least it used to be. I do remember the 𝙊𝙧𝙚𝙤 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙠𝙚 (~$6.90) being richer, whereas it just tasted pointlessly mild and heavy this time. Not that it was bad, it just wasn’t as good.🍰 Ig @goodfomood

Almost All Flavours Reviewed Overall this is a very solid cheesecake shop, with many good fusion flavours that we loved. They also execute classics well, but just be mindful of some flavours which missed their mark! (Disclaimer: based purely on personal preference!) Over the moon - very standard but good 7/10 Sicilian wild cats - very good tiramisu, light and not jelat 9/10 The Emperor’s romance - really great if you like lychee and raspberry! Has multiple layers and dimensions to the flavour 9.5/10 Apple of my eye - good, solid and surprising cheesecake. Had a good balance of sweet and tangy 8/10 Russian whiskers - stood out from the rest with its bold and clean flavours. Surprised us with chunks of frozen mango which added a contrasting texture to the cheesecake 9/10 Paw of fury - did not meet expectations, you’re better off with yuan yang from your local hbd coffeeshop 4/10 Once in the blue moon - no one in our family liked it, was the worst of the fruit cheesecakes. Blueberry flavour was barely there and felt very artificial 4/10 Maneki Neko - tangy and refreshing, delightful with a balanced sweetness 9/10 Jiggly fluff - better than expected, sprinkling the cheese at the top was a fun experience and they are super generous with the toping. Flavours were salty and extremely cheesy, which we enjoyed. 8/10 Modern duke’s pudding - v standard but solid, if you want a good oreo cheesecake, both top and bottom layers are soft and not the crunchy kind if you’re expecting that 7.5/10 King cat of the mountain - a very solid durian cake, not much cheese (thus not much cheesecake flavour) but we enjoyed it nonetheless. Had real durian flesh inside which added to the pleasant flavour of this cake 8/10 Milo dinosaur - standard but good if you like milo, can be a bit jelat even with one slice 7/10 Naughty and nice - surprisingly good quality chocolate cake from a cheesecake store, brownie on top is of great quality as well 8/10 Charred eclipse - nothing special, lack the burnt flavour and we prefer the normal cheesecake which was more moist (due to lack of burnt-ness) 5/10 Sweet and smokey taffy - exactly how you would imagine it to taste like, great if you like salted caramel but it can get jelat even with one slice 7.5/10 Madam roselle - aesthetically pleasing but don’t let the appearance fool you! Lacked tea fragrance and did not taste of anything. Texture was also odd and different from the rest. Came with chunks of frozen rose jelly which sadly did not nothing to salvage this cake 3/10

Apple Of My Eye from Cat & The Fiddle (online) Dear Jon sent this over for my birthday during the circuit breaker. This combines the best of apple crumble (fragrant cooked apples, cinnamon and buttery crumble) and cheesecake (rich and creamy, and silky mouthfeel). I really should check out the other flavours - Milo Dinosaur sounds wonderful!

Milo Dinosaur 6.9nett No idea why this one is butt naked. For a moment I tot it was upside down haha. Completely unlike the tiramisu, this was a proper cheesecake with hints of Milo. Still very enjoyable if you didn't expect a strong Milo taste. Thoughts: Overall I'm sure I made it abundantly clear that I'm a fan of them. I really appreciate the different crusts too, which pair well with each cheesecake flavour. Their crust is generally crumbly and rather cake like, which works well with the mousse texture of the cake. And burpple beyond really makes it very worth it, 3 for 3 is a massive difference from their usual 1 for 4 promo. The price really stacks up, considering the rather small size of their cheesecakes(which is perfect for those who don't want something too heavy like most health-conscious people nowadays I guess). It's definitely my go-to for well executed, reasonably priced cheesecake and personally I feel it's very underrated, mainly because of their trite aggressive advertisement campaign. Now I'm a fan and I hope more people give them a try, the quality is really there. My top picks are: 1. Triple fromage 2. Yuzu lemon 3: Tiramisu (personal reasons, I don't take alcohol so a good tiramisu slice is hard to come by) I'm not recommending the Basque burnt cheesecake cos I saw the standard isn't consistent, though the one I had was pretty good, and Basque cheesecakes usually come at literally twice the price lol(albeit slightly bigger slice). So if you're a lucky person, you can consider getting a slice when the top looks good, since it's rare to find a good one at this price point.

Definitely Coming Back With brunch options, pastries & coffee, I shall return here again for sure. I'd order at the counter on the 1st floor, & head up the stairs to the 2nd floor to chill my morning/afternoon away. While there aren't many seats in this small space, the floor-to-ceiling windows let in great ambient light to brighten the premises - although unfortunately there isn't much of a view, looking out towards Clementi Road & the neighbouring overpass. There even is an easel for kids (& adults, I suppose) to draw on & express their artistic talents. But I'm happy to just sit in a corner, using their free WiFi & listening to their chill music playlist playing softly in the background. But for now, everyone stay safe & healthy... We'll get through this crazy month together. 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats available ☀ Al fresco seats available 🍽 Burpple Beyond partner 🍽 Shopback GO partner 📶 Free WiFi available 💦 Water is not chargeable 🙋🏻‍♀️ No service charge 🚫 No GST ⬆️ Seats available on 2nd floor

Fashionable Croissants I'm honestly so glad to have had this unexpected discovery that The M Plot serves more than just macarons! They have cool 1-for-1 macaron deals on Burpple Beyond, & also are sometimes referred to as "The M Plot Macarons" in full, hence my confusion. I bought some croissants home for my family - a sweet & savoury one. The Stego ($4.50 nett) is a roasted almond x almond paste variant, & the Mammoth ($4.90 nett) a pork floss one. IMHO these are priced quite steep, but with Shopback GO's 35% cashback, that eased the pain a little. I bought these as gifts, so I didn't get to try them... But here are some pictures. 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats available ☀ Al fresco seats available 🍽 Burpple Beyond partner 🍽 Shopback GO partner 📶 Free WiFi available 💦 Water is not chargeable 🙋🏻‍♀️ No service charge 🚫 No GST ⬆️ Seats available on 2nd floor

1-for-1 High Tea With Burpple Beyond! Brought my mum out for afternoon tea while I was off from work!!! Taste: 7/10 (This TWG pink flamingo tea - blend of green tea with crimson hibiscus blossoms - was so tart and refreshing!) Ambience: 7/10 (The servers were extremely friendly, but as the lounge started to fill up with diners, it became much harder to get help from any of the servers) Price: 8/10 (Afternoon tea set became extremely affordable after making use of the Burpple Beyond deal! Paid approximately $39 for 2)

Worst Afternoon Tea Set in a Hotel I'd like to start with the good - the staff were attentive and friendly. The ambience is nice for chilling, for relaxing afternoon with friends. That's about all the good. Now onto the bad. I wasn't expecting fanciful food at this super affordable price point, but come on Marriott you can do better than this. I can walk down to Four Leaves at taka and gather the same exact food provided in the high tea set and the quality will be 3x better than what they served. All high tea set are pre-packed and cling wrapped and kept in the fridge to be served at 2pm. Sandwiches are soggy cause of the tomatoes and cucumbers. (Btw the sandwich has cucumber in it, and nothing else?! It's literally cucumber and bread) Scones are dry. Egg tarts are too sweet. Red velvet cupcake and the macaroons are pure colourings and sugar with no other taste than overwhelmingly sweet. The best thing of it all was the twg tea hahaha. First review in burpple, because please if anyone wants to come here for the afternoon tea set (even at the discounted burpple price), you gotta reconsider. (Oh and photo is not updated, I didn't take any photos so I grabbed it off the Google image results so please don't refer to that.)

English Afternoon Tea Set ($33++). 1-for-1 with #burpplebeyond! Unwind your weekend afternoon at @singaporemarriott Lobby Lounge with their English Afternoon Tea Set for 2. For $33++, you get to savour an assortment of afternoon sandwiches, savoury pies, tea cakes, chocolate pralines, macaroons, raisin scones with strawberry jam, and unlimited servings of coffee and tea from their selection. I’d say it’s average, with hits and misses. While the lemon meringue and apple macaroon were those that stood out in that lot, the chocolate praline had strong palm fat taste and the scones were on the slightly dry side. Also, I wasn’t expecting the sandwiches to simply be filled with cucumber slices for one variant, and tomato slices for another. Perhaps they could also work on the presentation of the savoury pies. Thanks to #burpplebeyond, we enjoyed 2 English afternoon tea sets at the price of 1!

Forest Wrap I'm not sure what I was thinking when I chose to order this vegetarian wrap ($18) rather than a more 'typical' main. But this was a quesadilla-esque wrap filled with zucchini, eggplant, mushroom and tomato with cheddar cheese. It was served with an artistic swipe of tomato sauce for that extra zing and a mesclun side salad with fruit. I couldn't help but think of Starbucks' egg white wrap as I was eating it haha. It was really good though, very flavorful with the saltiness and savoriness of the cheese melding well with the tanginess of the ratatoutille-inspired filling. The wrap was just nicely crisped and toasted, not too thick or doughy. Portion sizing was perfect. Its quite funny because the dish was served on a big metal disc. Interesting presentation. Also they serve a complimentary shot of fruit juice in test tubes and my iced Long Black ($6) is in a beaker. Most unique presentation accompanied by the whimsical, pastel colors of the cafe. I really enjoyed my dining experience here. 8/10
