Fried Egg Power [$12] Ciabatta with a bunch of sinful ingredients - double fried egg, crispy bacon, tater tots, cheddar cheese and PBD’s sauce! It was very shiok although my friend found this a little heavy for breakfast. Loved the varying crunch and textures! & pst, get the super worth 1 for 1 with Burpple Beyond!

Egg & Salmon [$12] Came down armed with Burpple Beyond’s 1 for 1! A trusty classic pairing of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, elevated with dill cream cheese and red onions sandwiched between fluffy brioche buns. Not mind blowing, but it was such a satisfying breakfast option. Smoked salmon wasn’t too salty and we liked the balance brought by the tangy red onions!

The PB&J sandwich from Park Bench Deli should totally be inducted into the hall of fame and be crowned the champion of the sweet sandwiches. If you have not had it before, be prepared for bites of thick and crunchy peanut butter with mixed berry jam, sandwiched in a cornflake crusted milk and chocolate bread. Not the healthiest of sandwiches around, hell yeah you damn right, but I am willing to spend a little more time in the gym so that I can afford the calories for this. Also, first timers beware, this is not your so-called dessert bread so do share it with someone since sharing is caring. You know you are getting a damn good sandwich when you start to hear oooohs and ahhhhs from each bite. _________________ Park Bench Deli Address: 179, Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 068627

Special Edition Butter croissant 🥐 (S$5.30) served with a scoop of limited edition Lotus Paste D24 Durian ice cream 🍦 (S$5.30/ scoop) Available at @dopadopa.sg while stock lasts. Accompanied with @leefetea Kabuse Genmaicha Tea 🍵 (S$6/ pot) The mid-autumn special limited edition ice cream 🍦 smells lightly of distinct durian. The taste of durian hit in at the first mouthful, followed by the milky taste, and lastly the hint of lotus paste for the aftertaste. And it went quite well with the buttery light crispy croissant 🥐. . Dope - Green Tea + Pistachio! Second time in a week trying out their dope ice cream. Have concluded that the only flavours to get are Green Tea and Pistachio. 😋 Rating(s): 5/5 (Green Tea & Pistachio flavours) 4/5 (Avocado flavour) 3.5 (Ferrero flavour - alittle too sweet for my liking, would be great if they could introduce a "dark chocolate" type of flavour in future!)

Dopa Dopa DOPE! The homemade ice cream here is awesome! We got 2 double scoops, but the key highlights were the Pistachio one and the Green Tea flavoured ice creams. The Pistachio ice cream was very gao (thick) and flavour, but it doesn't make you gelat. The Green Tea one had a deep matcha flavour and it wasn't too sweet either. Would definitely go back for more! 😋 Rating: 4/5

Was attracted by their Asian style pasta and headed down to try tonight. We checked out the Mummy’s Assam pasta with a fried fish in Assam sauce. Fish fillet was nicely cooked while pasta was quite al dente. However, the Assam sauce was kinda basic and lacked depth. The Golden Egg pasta with salted egg sauce didn’t do it for us. We wished the taste was more punchy in the salted egg way but this was kinda flat in taste. Definitely room for improvement but perhaps their classic pasta would be better.

Traditional Bolognese | $13+ Always love a good pasta place! Spaghetti bolognese is my all-time comfort foods (especially if they meatballs)! Sadly, no meatballs but Spagtacular’s take on the traditional bolognese but it has a lovely sous vide egg which when stirred in, gives much more bite to the pasta. I enjoyed the al dente texture of the spaghetti which is hard to come by for places at this affordable price point. Overall, a wonderful dish as I cleaned out the plate of every drop red wine infused beef bolognese sauce. Also, #BurppleBeyond is available here so imagine getting a main for less than $10?! Definitely coming with a friend next time!

Kimchi Spice ($12) This did indeed really taste like kimchi! The pasta took on an orange hue and and had that sourish tang that you’d expect from the preserved veg. Besides the kimchi itself, there was also green chilli and leek strewn about. The meat component; crispy pork belly, was alright, tender enough but not particularly tasty. Overall a pretty tasty and unique pasta for the price.

Waffles And Softserve! So glad that Sunday Folks is on #burpplebeyond, making it really affordable! My favourite soft serve is the gula melaka one because it’s slightly salted and just goes so well with the waffles and honey and chocolate drizzled onto the plate. I quite enjoy their soft serve texture as it’s less dense and not so creamy. Also liked the little mochi cubes which were soft and chewy! The almond brittle is also a great topping to have. Was really nice to chill here with my friends before sending one of them off overseas!

Good pistachio ice cream, but standard seems to have dropped ☹️☹️ Managed to try their single waffle with ice cream ($12) with all 4 flavours available - earl grey lavender, dark chocolate ferrero, roasted pistachio and sea salt gula melaka. Roasted pistachio was easily the best flavour among the four, except that the added homemade topping was the least unique one (but lotus biscuits are the best!!). Remembered earl grey lavender to be a lot stronger and tasty last time, but seems a little lackluster now and dark chocolate ferrero didnt taste very dark and even borderline cheap actually. They do their sea salt gula melaka better than other places at least! Also, the ice cream melted way too fast (it was already melting when served to us) and I think I’d rather other ice cream parlors if not for the 1-for-1 😢😢

Earl grey ice cream & waffles Got this during the 1 for 1 promo on tuesdays-fridays from 5-7pm! The ice cream is light yet tasty. Absolutely loved it. However, the waffle is only mediocre quality - would have preferred if it was served hotter and crispier. This waffle are for those who prefer soft waffles. The almond honeycomb topping is heavenly!!! Full of a nutty taste and coated with honey & sugar - tasted great with the ice cream. Would only come back with the 1 for 1 promo, as the portion size is not very large.

Above And Beyond Thanks to #burpplebeyond, celebrating my dad’s 60th birthday was extra sweet. We got two absolutely killer lobster sets for the price of one! Said sets were $72++ each, and each consisted of a lobster main and a drink (worth up to $14). Since a glass of Queen’s Bay Private Selection Sauvignon Blanc was priced nicely at $14, well, would be a bit of a shame if we didn’t get it, right? I picked the grilled lobster with spicy seafood sauce (which is basically just Thai green chili sauce), and ‘twas a first class trip to Flavortown. Do not adjust your television, folks, you’re seeing this right. That is a WHOLE, large lobster all for me lonesome. Well, the regular price for this beaut is $58++, so they gotta make it worth the moolah. And believe me folks, it is worth it. The colossal crustacean is fabulously fresh, and the strong, seductive sweetness of the lobster flesh is the most prominent flavor that’ll jump out at you even after it’s grilled to succulent sublimity. The smokiness imparted into the lobster is just begging to be paired with the spicy seafood sauce. The sauce, as mentioned before, is essentially Thai green chili, but better. It’s spicy, zingy, tangy, and just perfection for the palette. Say it with me folks, this is F L A V O R T O W N. And thank you #burpplebeyond, if it wasn’t for your insane 1-for-1 with the East Coast outpost of Pince & Pints, I would‘ve never experienced lobster utopia.

Despite being surrounded by a stellar cast, the star of the show at Pince and Pints is undoubtedly their whole Live Lobster ($58++) You get the choice of having it steamed or grilled - both are good. Steaming gives it a fimer texture but grilling it embodies it with delicious smoky flavor. There’s also an option of getting a spicy seafood sauce or a butter sauce but the latter is both a classic and a way better choice. • 📍: @pinceandpints 🚂: Dakota or Tanjong Pajar 💰: Around $70 per person ⚖️: It is pricey but if youre on @burpple beyond you get 1 for 1 mains at the Katong Brunch which is next to incredible. Alternatively, @chope also has pretty good deals as well

1-for-1 1-for-1 Main (S$58++) + Drink (S$14++ & below) at @pinceandpints using #BurppleBeyond in @burpple app. . Cantonese Style Steamed Lobster (S$58++) Live Whole Lobster steamed on a bed of glass vermicelli in House-made soy sauce, finished with ginger, spring onion, Chinese parsley. Served with Fragrant jasmine rice. With lobster fork 🍴 and cast lobster to assist, although one would much prefer a pair of lobster shear too for the legs. . The Classic Lobster Roll (S$58++) Served with Chef’s Salad 🥗, straight-cut fries, garlic butter fries. Sinfully buttery bun packed with chunky meat. Only complaint was the greens from the salad tasted bitterly perfumed. . Accompanied with chocolate 🍫 milkshake (S$12++) and Oreo milkshake (S$12++) . Bulgogi Pancake ($19+ U.P.; On Burpplebeyond) The anal freak in you would completely forgive how lopsided the beef bulgogi slices are situated in that well fried golden yellow disc of a pancake. This was soft Korean pancake, with occasional traces of crisp ends, done well! We also had a pork kimchi stew to share which was simmered with abundant amount of kimchi and cooked till soft pork belly chunks. As if the meal was not enjoyable enough, with these on burpplebeyond the meal at Baek Jung just gets better and better!

Within a stone’s throw distance from each other, there are literally countless Korean restaurants that are operating within the CBD district. Opened just over three weeks ago in Telok Ayer, Baek Jung Korean Restaurant & Bar is the new kid on the block that aims to grab a part of the wallet spent from the many PMEBs that visit such restaurants for a meal and drink or two during lunchtime and after work. • If you are a Burpple Beyond member, you are in luck as the restaurant is a participating merchant and you can get to enjoy 1-for-1 mains when you dine-in. For this meal, I got the Pork Kimchi Stew and Dakgalbi with 3 Cheese, which both came in hearty portions that will surely to fill you up to the brim. The Pork Kimchi Stew is literally what the name entails and it comes with thick cuts of pork belly in a kimchi stew. The Dakgalbi with 3 Cheese was so comforting that you will instantly go to food coma heaven right after demolishing this plate. Hugh chunks of boneless chicken, cabbage, potatoes and cucumbers are cooked in a red chilli paste sauce (gochujang) before the addition of the 3 cheeses. Unfortunately, the flavours from the cheese didn’t come through, which was slightly underwhelming in my opinion, as the flavours were sort of overpowered by the other stronger ones such as the gochujang sauce. _________________ Baek Jung Korean Restaurant & Bar Address: 72, Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 048460

“Healthy isn’t a goal. It’s a way of living.” ~ as mentioned by Kakuida’s. Specialising in Kurozu aka Japanese black vinegar which is created by fermenting brown rice using a traditional process. Offering different Kurozu drinks such as seasonal special, Tankan Fruit Kurozu. At first sip, I wasn’t used to the sharp citrusy taste but it does slowly grow on you after a while. • Other than the drinks, the baked doughnuts (infused with kurozu) are a popular choice as many office ladies would buy boxes of it. The flavours include Original ($1.90), Chocolate ($2.20), Matcha ($2.20) and even chocolate chips! • Kakuida’s

Assorted Baked Donuts (half dozen, $12.90) I came here for the 1-for-1 Donut + Straight Tea deal on Burpple Beyond, but I ended up getting the assorted baked donuts on top of it. I mean, they looked so good, can you blame me?! 😍🍩 I got 2 Matcha, 2 Chocolate, an Original and a Sweet Potato for my purchase. Their donuts are infused with Kurizo, a Japanese black vinegar that is “organic and aged for 3 years”. I’m not sure if it‘s supposed to affect the texture of the donuts in any way, but I swear they were so soft, thick and moist, and they carried a good weight of flavour. I was honestly afraid they’d turn out too cakey and dry, but this was definitely a pleasant surprise. The donuts are pretty petite as well, so I’m sure anyone having this won’t really feel that sense of guilt and the paranoia from the slightest tummy bloat. (7.7/10) 😅 (P.S. My favourite flavours? The Matcha and Sweet Potato. Really good stuff!)

At first glance, this look totally unassuming to me but I decided to give this a go and it was the best decision and it is really one of the better tiramisu desserts that you can get in Singapore. Served in a jar, it is layered with ladyfinger biscuits, mascarpone cream cheese and bittersweet chocolate pieces with a pipette dropper sitting atop the mini mountain. With some research done online, I found out that it actually contains a mixture of coffee liqueur, rum and Marsala wine which you can squeeze out for an alcoholic kick in your tiramisu. It’s all these little touches where you get to “play” before eating makes it such an enjoyable experience. _________________ Nesuto Patisserie Address: 53, Tras Street, Singapore 078992

Summer Houjicha [$9] . . NEWLY launched today and exclusively for this F1 weekend, this Summer Houjicha cake comes with alternating layers of houjicha soufflé sponge and houjicha mascarpone mousse, adorned with a polished white exterior coat of mandarin orange & kalamansi infused cream frosting. A thin layer of mandarin orange and kalamansi curd can be found within the houjicha sponge layers as well, which comes with a tangy fruity note that I personally feel wasn’t a compatible companion to the roasted tea elements. Nevertheless, I still adore the houjicha mascarpone mousse for its characteristic roasted flavour and fragrance, one thats distinct albeit subtle, coupled with a lingering aroma. Texture of the mousse is smooth, slightly creamy and pairs well with the soft and fluffy houjicha sponge, which also aids in providing some moisture to the mouthfeel. Personally I would prefer for the mandarin orange & kalamansi curd to be omitted here as the contrast in flavours (earthiness vs sourness) didn’t seem to work out well for my palate to appreciate it 😅 . . . . #burpple #nesutopatisserie #sgfoodie
