Chocolate Pappardelle Curioused by the reviews of this dish, I finally went to try it out. It tasted weird on the first mouth but okay on the second and subsequent. You can't really taste any chocolatey taste in this dish and yea, more like beef stew hor fun kind of thing. Interesting to try but not my dish. By the way, service was bad as the staff ignored our request several times to change seat due to strong air con wind when she actually said she will check but never ever get back. We got our seats changed immediately after asking another staff. Upon food served, the menu and reservation tag on our small 2 pax table were not taken away by staff. Another couple came in and took over the 'cold seats' requested to the 1st staff mentioned for a change of seats too and I saw her walking away with her eyes rolling. Seriously? Upon asking for bill, I saw the staff looking at our table, supposedly to confirm what we ordered, keying in the bill at the POS machine but carried out other tasks half way after another staff asked her to help with serving food. I bet she forgot our bill because she went on with wiping glasses after. No, they were not understaffed. We ended up walking up to the cashier to pay our bills after a while of waiting because she clearly forgotten our bill. Will not return again.

sweet indulgence The brownie ($12++) is a tad pricey, but well worth the cost. A soft fudge brownie is topped by salted caramel ice cream and drizzled with butterscotch sauce. Enjoyed this lots - not overwhelmingly sweet, and with quality components!

underrated tagliatelle The duck confit tagliatelle ($24++) surprised me as I was initially skeptical of the contrasting flavours. Masala and lemon sounds like an odd combination, but it worked beautifully - a spiced creamy base tinged with lemon zest! The portion of duck was really generous and tender too. I much preferred this dish for how unique it was!!

For 1-for-1 Main & Drink (save~$18) Find this hip cafe along Horne Road near Lavender MRT for solid western nosh. The grilled Chicken Arabiatta ($13.90) is a good choice, as is the flaky Pan-Seared Salmon Fillet ($19.90) in a creamy lemon-butter gravy. The Bagel Set With Avocado ($17) that comes with buttery folds of scrambled eggs is a great all-day breakfast option. *Muslim-owned Photo by Burppler Komal Salve

Mild Strength, Medium Lavender Scented Latte Read on Burpple that this is the recommended drink so I decided to give it a try as part of my burpple deal. Noted that the beans are supplied from Allpress Expresso when I made my order.p Hot lavender latte (single shot) is usually served slightly sweetened and is priced at $5.50 I had requested for mine to be unsweetened as Iโ€™m not a fan of sweetened coffee. The staff recommended for me to opt for the slightly sweetened for the fullest flavor and satisfaction and offered to put the sugar syrup on the side for me if I decided to try it later. It was additional effort on his team to clean up and I appreciated it very much. Came across some reviews saying that the coffee strength is extremely weak and decided that Iโ€™d add an extra shot (+$0.40) to try to counter that. Total cost adds up to $5.90 for a cuppa double shot hot lavender latte. My boyfriend, not a fan of coffee, ordered an iced lavender latte (double shot) as the burpple deal limits the drink selection to coffee. Like its unchilled sibling, it comes sweetened and is priced at $7.50. The hot lavender coffee was served warm, topped with some purple lavender flowers against the brown and whites of the milk coffee, on a wooden coaster with โ€œBravery x Allpressโ€ carved onto it. A small metal pitcher of sugar syrup and a metal spoon accompanied my cup of latte. Lavender smell was pretty strong at first whiff but faded off later on. Temperature of the drink was way cooler than that which lattes are usually served at and itโ€™s also not what the way Iโ€™d liked it to be. As mentioned in other reviews, the coffee in the drink was almost undetectable (even with the additional shot I had requested) and it became underwhelming for me. The lavender flavor paired well with the milk but I would choose to go without the lavender next time in order to have a higher chance at tasting the coffee hints. I did eventually try the slightly sweetened version at half point mark but it didnโ€™t help the drink in meeting my expectations. Again, I do appreciate the staffโ€™s gesture of providing alternatives and recommendations. Iced lavender latte was served in a tall slim glass with a black plastic straw topped with purple flowers as well. Taste was likened to the warmer sibling. Definitely not a pick me up kind of drink. My boyfriend didnโ€™t enjoy it very much as well. Iโ€™d think that the taste and enjoyment of this drink would vary across the coffee and non coffee drinkers depending on their preference of lavender. Previous experience of Allpress expresso beans m at โ€œBaker & Cookโ€ had me trying the drink at this cafe with a certain expectation. Perhaps it would have been different had I not came with that experience. Will recommend to increase the number of shots by 2 or 3 times if you would like to try the drink! May come back to try the normal flat white with 2-3 additional shots.

[๐Ÿ“Revisiting Oatberry Granola Kitchen - Part 2/2 ] Greedy me got another bowl of @theoatberry quick bowl: ๐——๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ ๐—–๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ธ ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฎ-($6) -I usually get their greek yogurt but decided to try the dark chocolate coconut milk ice cream because i prefer my greek yogurt plain but they only offer vanilla flavour (which is nice but I think plain ones complement the granola better as vanilla tends to mask the toasty fragrance of granola; and also because vanilla flavour has sugar and flavourings). -I really love this vegan dark chocolate icecream because the distinctive cocoa flavour, very subtle sweetness (probably 3/10) and the coconut profile was subtle so it didnโ€™t overpower the chocolate. Love that it remained icy cold throughout and didnโ€™t melted too fast while i took photos~ -Shoutout to their ๐•ญ๐–‘๐–†๐–ˆ๐–๐–‹๐–”๐–—๐–Š๐–˜๐–™ ๐–Œ๐–—๐–†๐–“๐–”๐–‘๐–†! The base of the is essentially their signature dark chocolate granola with dried cranberries and walnuts! I love how the walnuts added adds another texture to the granola and it tasted really fresh. Personally, i really love walnuts because of the firmeness and bitter notes complements really well with sweeter flavours. A chat with the founders of @theoatberry made me delighted to hear that that they no longer use xantham gum (food additives to stabilise/bind food and improve the flavour + mouthfeel but may create digestive issues) in their granola bakes and are working with nutritionists to refine their recipes to make it nutritious and delicious. This news really made my day and yeah it got me really happy as to how they constantly seek to uphold their vision of creating clean, honest and nutritious, yet undeniably delicious food. I really feel that their efforts to continuously improve and perfect their formula (achieving that desirable level of sweetness and crunch) is really truly inspirational. Though the changed in recipe resulted in slight dryness to their granola texture, on the bright side its more crisps and definitely healthier~ Thanks for that macadamia drizzle๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜loving that nutty savoury taste. #burpple

Grain Bowl - Burpple 1-for-1 - $5 Double chocolate granola with coconut milk ice cream - strong coconut taste, didnโ€™t melt. Also pictured: very berry granola with greek yoghurt. Very hard and crunchy - a little too hard. Tasted nice though.
