Lobsters & Oysters Brunch $88++ I was so looking forward to all the lobsters' dishes but unfortunately, they all taste meh~ 馃槙 The lobster tails are so-so, the claws are tough and tasteless. Lobster bisque is not bad but it鈥檚 cold.馃槓 The turnip in the lobster popiah is quite bland, you can easily get nicer popiah outside. Ok, so what鈥檚 nice? The prawns are sweet & fresh, taste much better than the lobsters, oysters, mussels were gd. As for the sashimi, salmon/maguro/ika was stated in the menu but only salmon is available, the rest are sushi.馃え My favorites will be the foie gras and egg benedict. The foie gras is pan-fried until crispy on the outside while still soft on the inside and it just melts in your mouth. The egg ben muffin is soft and fluffy when paired with the oozy yolk, it鈥檚 the best combo ever! The Sio Bak is very crispy and tasty! The tarts and cakes are yummy too! When food coma attacks, just go to the poolside and chill and have a pretty power nap. 馃槾馃槀

Alfonso Mango Kulfi, Gulab Jamun Cheesecake, Fresh Fruits (dessert,Gastromonth Menu) Fresh Fruits were average Gulab Jamun itself was good but the proportion meant that the icy Cheesecake overpowered the other flavours Alphonso mango Kulfi had a nice mango taste, but the cream was stronger and overall slightly too light. P. S. While it wasnt planned in any way, it seems only fitting that my 2000th post is at a michelin restaurant :p

Mixed Naan Basket(part Of Main Course, Gastromonth Menu) This is one bread basket worthy of being on a michelin starred restaurant menu. Crispy, flaky, fluffy or chewy at different parts, it might just be the best naan ive had. Not very mixed tho, basically all Plain or at most sprinkled with Small herbs but no complaints

Songs Art Plate (main Course, Gastromonth Menu) Malabar Fish curry was pretty damn good. Fish was flaky and the sauce didnt overpower the fish Butter Chicken was okay. Had better ones before, this was a little too sweet. Bhuna ginger Lamb was delicious. Lamb was so tender and the Bhuna was surprisingly light with a mild heat. As i dont take Fried food the malai cottage kofta was switched with a paneer dish. Somehow it taste of veggies despite the thick appearance, and i quite liked it. Dal makani was thick and thus really meaty despite being a vegetarian dish. Yoghurt relish was incredibly creamy with a strong tang. Quite interesting to say the least Lastly saffron rice pulao(better known as pilaf) was fluffy Overall really good and redeems my impression of them after the first two average courses

A Wonderful Indulgence - The 鈥淐hocolate Divine鈥 English Afternoon Tea H O S T E D Chocoholics, you have a reason to whoop for joy. From now until 8th April 2018, you can go nuts at the 鈥淐hocolate Divine鈥 English Afternoon Tea at L鈥橢spresso Tea Lounge in Goodwood Park Hotel. Specially crafted chocolate creations join the existing daily buffet. These include crispy sticks of exotic Dark Chocolate Grissinis enhanced by sea salt or Japanese pepper, toasted Ciabatta with a Chocolate Orange spread, Slowbaked Guanjana Chocolate Tartlet, Manjari Chocolate Caramel Shooters, Bitter Chocolate Mousse Delight, Chocolate Fondant, Chocolate Marble Light Cheesecake, Chocolate Macaron, White Chocolate Green Tea Cake and more. Sticks of fruit and marshmallow can also be coated in the smooth, thick chocolate that flows from a tall fountain. Having dined at L鈥橢spresso Tea Lounge a few times before, I am familiar with the offerings there and was very glad to spot my favourite freshly-baked scones in the spread (the blueberry one is particularly scrumptious with a big cloud of clotted cream spooned on top). I found the quality of the sandwiches really decent as well as they came in different forms with assorted fillings. A couple of hot savoury items like the roasted chicken and other desserts gave me reasons to keep returning to the buffet too. 鈥斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺斺 Mon to Thur: Adult - $45++. Despite of a change in the food scene, where everyone seems to be adding salted egg on everything, there are some OG salted egg pairings that never go out of style. The Taiwanese porridge in Coffee lounge at Goodwood Park in hotel is one such example. Their ala-carte buffet has been running for years, a testament to its quality. Look forward to delicious stir fry鈥檚 and sharing dishes that are made a la minute. My personal favourites are their seafood omelette and prawn paste chicken. Don鈥檛 forget to leave some room for dessert as well! Their bread and butter pudding is excellent. 鈥 The ala carte buffet is available at $39++ on weekdays for adults from Monday to Thursday and $42++ in Fridays to Sundays.

The Decades-Old Taiwan Porridge A La Carte Buffet Is Still Delivering After All These Years. H O S T E D Back in the day, the Coffee Lounge at the Goodwood Park Hotel was one of the most popular post-clubbing supper spots. Crowds would flock there from whichever party venue they were at because there was nothing like comforting a belly sloshing in alcohol with some steaming hot porridge and a spread of dishes. I am very happy to announce that even after all this time, the quality of said porridge, which is actually known as the 鈥淭aiwan Porridge A La Carte Buffet鈥, is as superb as ever. Once seated, you will be given a menu with over 30 dishes to pick from. All but three of them (they are the pricier seafood of pomfret and prawns) are unlimited in servings, so you have the freedom to repeat those you love. The dishes I enjoyed a lot would be the fried pomfret (every part including fins and tail are edible as it鈥檚 fried till extremely crispness), 鈥渃hye por鈥 omelette (a little oily but who cares), crunchy baby squid coated in sweet oyster sauce, sambal kangkong, beansprouts with salted fish, 鈥渕ui choy鈥 with pork, chilled beancurd with Japanese soya sauce and pork floss, and the pork belly braised in dark soya sauce. Honestly, there were many more dishes I was dying to try but since there were only two of us (I went with a foodie friend), and we didn鈥檛 want to waste food, we did our best to not let our eyes-bigger-than-stomach tendencies get the better. What we both agreed was the unassuming porridge was the vital component in this meal. Without its perfectly cooked consistency anchoring the flavour assortment before us, I think the two of us wouldn鈥檛 have been sighing so blissfully as we tucked in. Not that either of us had belly space left to do it justice but there鈥榮 a dessert spread included too. Comprising of local and Western styles that range from peranakan 鈥渒ueh kueh鈥 to Cantonese 鈥渢ong shui鈥, from warm bread and butter pudding to ice-cream, there is plenty of options for a sweet ending. PRICES: From Monday to Thursday: $39++聽per adult, $19.50++ per child. From Friday to Sunday, and on the eve of and on Public Holidays: $42++聽per adult, $21++ per child鈥.鈥

Four-Course Local Degustation Menu including Dessert Buffet with D24 Durian Pastries ($53.80++/pax). You design your own local food degustation menu here, meaning you get to choose your starter, mains and rice/noodles dishes in small tasting portions from a menu spanning Chinese, Malay, Indian to Peranakan signatures, including the most popular Singaporean fare. The meal will be accompanied by the lovely spread of D24 durian desserts, on top of the usual dessert buffet. 馃敻 This is launched in conjunction with the聽Durian Fiesta at Goodwood Park Hotel聽on 15 March. In addition to the signature local desserts, cakes and聽pastries, the dessert buffet spread聽at Coffee Lounge features nine D24 durian creations such as D24 Pandan Lapis Coconut Cake (new in 2019); D24 Mousse Cake; D24 Puff; D24 Oreo Cake; D24 Hazeln ut Tart; D24 Chendol聽Pudding; D24 Custard Bun; D24 Pancake聽- prepared a la minute at a聽鈥榣ive鈥櫬爏tation; and a D24 Ice聽Cream. 馃敻 Their durian desserts excelled on two fronts - First, the quality of the durians; and second, how the pastry component complement our king of fruits. For this reason, maybe a compelling option for the local degustation is to opt for 3-course ($49.80), saving stomach space for more durian desserts. Then again, my additional course of laksa (pictured top right corner) was really good as well. What a dilemma. 馃敻 [Tasting]
