Egg Ben-n-Jamin, Chai Latte, Iced Latte On the eve of National Day, i get to enjoy the scenic view of Gardens by the Bay form the Kallang PCN we woke up at 6am to 鈥渆xplore鈥. Then had breakfast at one of the better brunch places in Singapore - enter Sarnies, before walking to Chinatown and have my Singaporean Kopi after a milky, cafe masala chai latte. This was not before stopping by this non descript chiffon and roll cake stall which had Dr Leslie Tay鈥檚 article displayed- at $1.80 per slice of chiffon I found this one of the softest chiffons I鈥檝e had and was very pleased. At Chinatown complex food centre I had only space for desserts so the chendol that Our Grandfather Story featured we had to try. It was a good bowl of chendol at $2 considering how the slightly savoury pandan tadpole jellies are handmade. But my win for the day was Xin Xuan鈥檚 Min Chiang Kueh, I love pancakes so corollary, I love Chinese pancakes. The ones here are soft and delicious that it made me feel like they were everything I could have ever wanted. #HappyNationalDay I do love the country I live in鉁

Get the Salmon Carbonara!! The Miso Salmon Carbonara was super creamy and yummy, without being too surfeiting, topped with ikura!! There鈥檚 big pieces of salmon in the pasta as well. Would recommend 馃挴 The Ribeye was decent, not the best, but really worth it for the price! 馃ォ

Beef Cheeks Bourguignon The Beef Cheeks Bourguignon from Perch was so good. It was so well braised and flavorful with the meat falling apart easily. There鈥檚 a nice sweet mellowed red wine taste to it which blends in very well with the savoriness of the dish.

Tiger Prawn & Sakura Ebi Capellini A very belated post to cont. the family鈥檚 post CB dining trail- happy to report that I鈥檝e actually tried all the restaurant places on burpplebeyond at Jewel? Perch was definitely my next favourite besides Tonito. Firstly free corkage when we patronise the neighbour 1855 alcohol retailers; I love dinners with nice drinks as with many Singaporeans whom take respite/ temporal refuge (?) in them 馃槵 Next food was good and value for money with burpplebeyond. I enjoyed the Thai Red Curry that these pink-hued smoked duck breast slices were dressed in; because the pool of sauce was great we mopped it up effortlessly. While I would have preferred softer meat, this was a good attempt to make tough duck breast tender and not dry. For our pasta, we enjoyed it but might not order it again so that we can venture into trying other mains offered at Perch. We had a side of fried cauliflower which was excellent that we wanted to recreate at home, think not cloggy fried cauliflowers chunks with a charred crisp exterior and melted cheese atop. But we鈥檇 suggest skipping the saut茅ed spinach which reminded me of upscale zichar.
