For 1-for-1 Main Dish (save ~$30) When weekends come around and brunch beckons, head over this al fresco cafe at the entrance of Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. Come with an empty stomach and dive straight for the lavish Crossroads All-Day Breakfast Platter ($27) – think bacon, mushrooms, hash brown, eggs and sausage paired with toast (choice of sourdough or wholemeal) or an English muffin. Don't miss out on the decadent Primetime Burger ($38), featuring lightly seasoned wagyu beef patty accompanied by seared foie gras, bacon, Stilton cheese, pickled onions, arugula and a spread of black garlic aioli sandwiched between a charcoal bun. Chicken Breast With Risotto $30 Nice food, nice presentation, good portion size. Expect around $100 for 2 with drinks. Very romantic yet chilled out vibe. The best part about this place is the Ambience. Right in the middle of orchard Road with outdoor seating. Will definitely visit again some day.

[Crossroads Cafe] - Impossible Burger ($28) on the menu. The plant-based patty tasted like real beef. I probably cannot tell the difference in a blind taste. The burger comes with crisp tomato, refreshing cucumber salsa, creamy raita, red onion and arugula, sandwiched with soft sesame bun. Not forgetting the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger ($26) which is as good too. Tender chicken patty accompanied with red cabbage slaw, gherkins and spicy mayonnaise. It actually tastes like McDonald McSpicy! . Find out more at https://www.sgfoodonfoot.com/2019/09/crossroads-cafe-marriott-tang-plaza.html . Seafood Ceviche With Tortilla Chips ($16). Check out the tender morsels of seafood, marinated in citrus, in the seafood ceviche. Prawns, squids, mussels and a medley of vegetables that planted an impression - Fresh. Served with tortilla chips, most welcomed by a tortilla chips lover here. Crispy Chicken Wings ($12/6 Pieces). A sweet beginning to the lovely evening, the crispy chicken wings is an appetizer not to be missed. What caught my eye initially was the thick batter that turned out to be really crispy with an extra crunchiness. But the real reason for falling in love with this was the mesmerizing truffle maple drizzle, especially as it drips while picking up the drumlet. Despite the mild truffle aroma, the sweet maple syrup in contrast to the juicy chicken was really endearing. Vongole Pasta with add-on scallops ($26 + $8). •HOSTED TASTING• Nestled within Oakwood Premier OUE and helmed by Executive Chef Dickson Fung, Se7enth offers contemporary dining in a classy ambience. A pleasant dining experience without any doubt. As a vongole-lover, I was pretty much looking forward to the vongole pasta. While the al dente spaghetti was tossed with generous servings of clams and scallops in garlic, chili and white wine, I found it to be a tad dry. Taste of white wine was subtle, which would have been preferred if it was more evident. Nonetheless, the juicy scallops were a delight. Pork Chop Bowl ($11), Lu Rou Fan 2.0 rice bowl ($13), red tea without sugar ($3). Rainy days call for some belly-comforting food and @thesaltedplumsg is where you should exactly go to. Other than their highly popular Taiwanese zi char dishes paired with sweet potato congee, why not try their rice bowl series (available from 11.30am-8.30pm) too? There’s always something for everyone. Personally, the pork chop bowl is a slightly underrated option. Not extremely fantastic, but the sliced crispy fried pork chop was marinated well, as if there was a fermented bean curd taste and some five spice powder. Nice balance between fat and meat, although the meat was a little tough. Served with pickles, sous-vide egg on rice. A hot favourite, the Lu Rou Fan 2.0, consists of a glorious slab of Braised Pork Belly in Haus Sauce 2.0. Slightly fatty, but incredibly tender slathered in a rich sauce full of spices. Served with bok choy, sous-vide egg on rice. @thesaltedplumsg is a #burpplebeyond partner where you can enjoy 1-for-1 $10 dishes! Great Dinner! We used Burpple beyond (1 for 1 $10 dish) and ordered Burnt Chilli Chicken 2.0 and Oyster Mushrooms & Smashed Potatoes! In addition, we ordered bok choy ($5). First time at the new suntec outlet and they definitely did not disappoint! It was also really interesting bc we happened to be there while food king was filming! Lucky us! I’ve tasted the burnt chilli chicken before at the circular road outlet and it tasted a lil diff this time, which prolly explains why there’s a 2.0. still delicious, nonetheless! But good to get some drinks because it can be quite spicy for some ppl! For me, the star of the day was the oyster mushrooms! It was my first time trying this dish and i was pleasantly surprised! T’was crispy and light. Yum! Would definitely be back to try the other dishes! :)

For 1-for-1 Main Dish (save ~$15) Housed in Bishan Sports Centre, this month-old cafe serves up feel-good rice and noodle bowls perfect for a post-workout meal. Run by the brains behind Citrus By The Pool, go for foolproof options like the crisp and tender Baked Salmon ($13.90), and the Pineapple Salsa Salad Bowl ($12.90) – think tangy pineapple salsa, fresh prawns, juicy sautéed mushrooms, and creamy avocado on crisp romaine lettuce. The baked Herb Crusted Dory ($10.90) with a wonderfully crispy crust is another must-have. Photo by Burppler serene goh

Truffle Cream Salmon ($15.90) The Japanese phrase will tell you that you have three faces, the first one you show to the world, the second you show to your family, and the last you never show to anyone. The third one is often said to be the 'truest' reflection of who you are. In my case, the third face mirrors that of a simian ape on a cocaine and adrenaline overdose. - 📍 THE PLACE A pleasant little joint on the ground floor of The Cathay building, dim lighting and an island-seating concept that is aptly shaped like a scaled-down Noah’s Ark, this time without the animals and with more sashimi. - 🍽 THE FOOD 1️⃣ Wagyu Truffle Beef Don ($23.90) - the staple of practically every mid-scaled donburi joint at the moment, this did not fall below nor exceed expectations 2️⃣ Truffle Cream Salmon ($15.90) - I have a personal bias for the flaky, clean maritime flavours of salmon paired with a cream-based sauce of any kind, so add truffle into the mix, and you’ve got yourself a winner of a donburi 3️⃣ Premium Kaisen Don ($25.90) - it comes in a miniature replica of the scaled-down Noah’s Ark previously mentioned. The entertainment value of that alone is worth half the price 4️⃣ Hotate Mentai ($8) - interesting take on a scallop carpaccio with the addition of cornflakes for a textural contrast - 🤔 THE VERDICT It’s a sushi bar in a boat, that’s gotta be on your bucket list, right?

Wagyu Truffle Beef Wagyu Truffle Beef was overpriced in my opinion, given that I could get better tasting ones at a much more affordable rate from other restaurants. This bowl was not impressive at all, rice could have been a little warmer, there could have been a little more sauce, pretty much mediocre at best. ⁣⁣⁣
