Forest Wrap I'm not sure what I was thinking when I chose to order this vegetarian wrap ($18) rather than a more 'typical' main. But this was a quesadilla-esque wrap filled with zucchini, eggplant, mushroom and tomato with cheddar cheese. It was served with an artistic swipe of tomato sauce for that extra zing and a mesclun side salad with fruit. I couldn't help but think of Starbucks' egg white wrap as I was eating it haha. It was really good though, very flavorful with the saltiness and savoriness of the cheese melding well with the tanginess of the ratatoutille-inspired filling. The wrap was just nicely crisped and toasted, not too thick or doughy. Portion sizing was perfect. Its quite funny because the dish was served on a big metal disc. Interesting presentation. Also they serve a complimentary shot of fruit juice in test tubes and my iced Long Black ($6) is in a beaker. Most unique presentation accompanied by the whimsical, pastel colors of the cafe. I really enjoyed my dining experience here. 8/10

Yummy Rostis We had the smoked salmon rosti and it was so good! The cafe is rather small though so a reservation is a good idea. Also they are quite understaffed and we were told we had to wait 30 mins for our coffees. It didn’t end up taking that long thankfully but as the cafe filled up, we heard them telling other customers that the wait time for coffee was an hour which seems rather bizarre. The food was good though!

Good deal w Burpple Beyond, worth a try Crabmeat linguine was quite ok, chilli padi gave it a nice kick. Not fine pasta or anything but it works when you want some pasta. Iced coffee wasn’t great though as it was diluted - I think the hot coffee would have been better. Good deal overall w the burpple beyond 1 for 1 deal - paid about $20 for 2 iced coffees, 1 pasta, and 1 all day breakfast.

Smoked salmon Eggs Benedict’s and smoked salmon Rosti 👍🏼 Limited indoor seating. Industrial feel from the decorations and furnitures. Great service! Cashier was patient with changes and inquiries on baked goods. Food arrived quickly and dishes were cleared really quickly too. Ordered smoked salmon Rosti and smoked salmon eggs benny. Generous portions. Drinks-wise, we ordered iced caramel sea salt latte and soy white cold brew. The rosti falls apart easily and could have been crispier. Not sure if the eggs are meant to be sunny side or over easy but they are slightly over cooked. Would have been nice to have it runny. Generous portions of smoked salmon that is well seasoned. Overall a great dish! Eggs Benedict’s was a shocker with crispy English muffins topped off with runny poached eggs, (again) generous portions of smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. Love the sesame sauce that came with the salad sides. Drinks were quite disappointing though. Saw that most of other customers ordered the hot coffees, will come back to try the classic whites (latte/ flat white) next time! Total cost: $23 for 2 pax; quite a steal! Would definitely come back!

Grilled Cheese ($12) Another new bakery!? Be greeted by an array of fresh handcrafted bakes @bakersbenchbakery. From scones to loaves and sandwiches served from 11am. The Grilled Cheese isn’t quite what I envisioned. Crusty sourdough layered with tomato chutney, smoked cheddar, gruyere, mozzarella, before it’s crowned with parmesan. Don’t expect a pocket of cheese inside though.

Cheeky Chicken Two slices of toasted sourdough sandwiched Koji-brined chicken thigh, purple cabbage slaw, kombucha vinaigrette and furikake. ($14) Its not the most delicious sandwich in the world, but I can see its a labor of love. I like the tanginess of the vinaigrette paired with the creamy slaw and the tenderness of the chicken. I wish there was a tad bit more of it for the price point. The sourdough...hmm. Not sure how I feel about that. I suppose I just wish it was more dense and more thickly sliced? But maybe that's just a personal preference. 6.5/10

Sticky Bun Oh hello there!! I basically screamed and made a beeline for this like the excited little girl I am. 🤣 It comes on a big tray with all the buns stuck together and just dripping with caramel. This bun is super fluffy, chewy and just covered with glossy caramel and topped with pecans. It's reminiscent of those soft breads you get in at the neighborhood bakery except it's majestically sized. It tears open like a cinnamon roll (and indeed, the dough is flavored with cinnamon) with just the perfect crumb. I don't think there's anything mindblowing about it, it's just so aesthetically appealing and you can't go wrong with syrup slathered on fluffy bread. And that crunch from the pecan...totally awesome. 7/10

Pandan Burnt Cheesecake The pandan flavour has added on an additional touch to the burnt cheesecake... Compared to the one at Tokyo restaurant is almost pretty close to it... But still maybe the original tastes better still...

📍🇸🇬 Singapore Where do you go for your dessert around Keong Saik area? The first that comes to mind is @keongsaikbakery which I took my sweet tooth friends for their first experience. Pandan Burnt Cheesecake, made with pandan leaves and coconut cream. This is new on the menu since Chinese New Year and available for limited time. I was expecting a sweet dessert which turn out to be savoury and creamy. Attap Chee Rose Cheesecake, a light Rose Cheesecake filled with Attap Chee. It reminded me of bandung as I took my first bite. Burnt Cheesecake (Original), you cannot go wrong with this!

This will be the death of my waistline. A little embarrassed to say this is the first burnt cheesecake I’ve tried (bite me), but I’m glad I started with this. Just look at that lovely, molten centre. Just stare at it. So so creamy, so utterly decadent. This is the first of their burnt cheesecakes I’ve tried (they do an original and pandan flavoured one as well), and I have to say I loved how absolutely well the original and matcha layers balance out. The original on its own it’s like the most luscious, decadent cheesecake which, though exceedingly delicious don’t get me wrong, can get a little too sweet and heavy after awhile. That’s where the beautifully earthy and slightly bitter matcha cheesecake steps in to reign things in. The ratio’s perfect 👌🏻
