1 For 1 Super Balanced Chicken Rice Set Tried their 1 for 1 Super Balanced Chicken Rice Set which includes an espresso shot. We paid a total of $19 for the 1 for 1 set, but were left puzzled for 2 reasons. 1) On their menu, the chicken rice was $15 while an espresso shot is $3. Total price for the set should not cost more than $18. 2) The 1 for 1 set came with 2 Super Balanced Chicken Rice but only 1 espresso shot. We checked with the staff and was told this is right. Even with the Burpple Beyond 1 for 1 deal, we didn’t think this was worth it.
Some fancy ciders for the New Year's parties!! Coconut & Lime, Toffee Apple, Strawberry or Cloudy Lemon? 🤔 Counting down to countdown 🍾🥂🎉 What a year this has been... 🎊Happy New Year in advanced, everyone!!
For Bottled Craft Beers to Go Located on the second floor of Holland Village Shopping Centre, Thirsty Craft Beer carries over 200 labels of bottled craft beers and ciders (from $5.90)! There are no beers on tap, so your only move here is to carry and go (there's a one dollar charge should you want to sit on one of the bar stools to sip your chilled beer). Zoom in on the wall of best-selling craft beers and look out for the Anderson Valley Poleeko Pale Ale ($7.40) and the Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA ($9.80) — both come highly recommended by the staff! To save time, we suggest checking the availability of the beers on their website before making a trip down. Thirsty encourages buying in six, 12 or 24-packs (mix and match is possible), and throws in bulk discounts to sweeten the deal — look out for those when you're getting drinks for your next beer party! Pro tip: Hardcore craft beer drinkers can subscribe to their three-month beer subscription box (from $178). You'll get a surprise box of six, 12 or 24 bottles of beer (classics and seasonals included) delivered to your doorstep every month. Photo by Burppler Hilary See

Root Beer Yet another spot to get your alcoholic Root Beer fix if Bukit Batok is simply too far from you — the various types of beer, ciders and other alcoholic drinks from The Rawr Kitchen are also available at On Tap in Chinatown Complex Market. No doubt I would prefer the fizzier and fresher Root Beer served straight out from the tap at the main brewery within The Rawr Kitchen which is also nearer to me, but if that is simply just too far for eastie friends this makes for a good alternative in a location that is more central for most. PS: Check out Rudy's Snack Bar right beside On Tap for some grub such as fries, chewy fish crackers and chicken drumlets and more during evenings on Tues to Sat if you are in need of more "westernized grub" to go along with your beers; didn't have the stomach to try but definitely noticed a bunch of people who are having drinks ordering some food from them as well — the same particular stall seems to be operated under the main tenant (operating with the name reflected on the signboard) selling Chinese fare in the day.

On Tap And On Point Remember the days where you'd buy a can of root beer, cover up the word 'root' and pretend that you were drinking beer? Well, at On Tap, they just make your root beer naughty and save you the trouble of trying to front that hard. Their home brewed root beer ($6.50) tastes almost exactly like the virgin version, albeit a little less creamy. I didn't really notice any alcohol in the brew, which makes this a great, refreshing beer to start your non-beer guzzling pals on as you and your merry bunch devour your way through the dizzying array of delicious hawker food available at Chinatown Complex. #burpplecraftbeer
