Best Ice Cream Cones I've Had Don't forget their 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 ($1)! Crackling treats with nice touches of savouriness — pairs well with many of their flavours. - Another stunner was the 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲. It sported a luxurious sweetness which faded smoothly into subtlety, with caramel notes gracing the palate intermittently. ----- [𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙞𝙨] 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙨 & 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙂𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙤 📍 𝟴𝟬𝟮 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗱, # 𝟬𝟭-𝟬𝟭, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟳𝟳𝟬 ⏱️ (Temporary CB hours) 3pm-8.30pm, closed on Mondays

Great Inspired Flavours Underscored By Solid Textures I don't have a sweet tooth, not since my older days as a 120kg McDonald's-fuelled behemoth. Hence @monarchsandmilkweedgelato compelling my return (twice) was a feat. - Flavours here were inspired and elegantly layered. In particular the 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 ($4.90 single /$8 double) left a deep impression with creamy brown sugar notes melting into a light but intoxicating sage finish. 😩 ----- [𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙞𝙨] 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙨 & 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙂𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙤 📍 𝟴𝟬𝟮 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗱, # 𝟬𝟭-𝟬𝟭, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟳𝟳𝟬 ⏱️ (Temporary CB hours) 3pm-8.30pm, closed on Mondays

Unique Botanical Themed Gelato Flavours Interested to try some unique botanical themed gelato? Then check out Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato that serves an array of tantalising flavours from brown butter sage to burnt white chocolate to sea salt gula Jawa. 🍨 Opened earlier this year, it’s become a place to go to have a refreshing frozen treat in the already crowded Haji Lane/ Kampung Glam area. Went with the brown butter sage and soursop mint (premium flavour) flavours on a cone ($10). The brown butter sage had a buttery and slightly sweet overtone from the brown sugar. However, the herbal flavour profile from the sage didn’t stand out as much as I would like it to be. Soursop mint is really one interesting flavour. It’s hard to find soursop ice cream so I decided to give this a try. I was impressed by this. The sweet and slightly sour taste of the soursop paired really well with the mint leaves. It was certainly a creamy and refreshing treat on that very hot afternoon I visited. Not forgetting the waffle cone. What makes it distinct was how it’s savoury rather than sweet. Some may say it tastes salty the first time but I feel it’s an acquired taste. Freshly made on the day itself, the cones were crunchy and buttery. I couldn’t fathom what secret herb they added into the cone batter but definitely salt went into it. I’ve been back since my first visit and hope they’ll survive the critical CB period. Their gelato pints are now available for takeaways, so do support them.

A...lil’ slanted Earl Grey soft-serve tower Extremely earthy earl grey infused soft serve - a creamy in texture and not overly sweet. Comes w choice of fruit pebbles, chocolate rice etc toppings (pick only one!) A lil’ sad that they ran out of the charcoal cones on the day of visit (we visited pretty late into the evening; slightly before closing hours). Hoping for better luck next time!

Cookie & Cream ice-cream w Fruit Pebbles! At first sight, it’s a pretty fancy coloured soft serve, nicely twirled and dotted with fruit pebbles. At first taste, it was slightly disappointing - nothing very “cookie&cream” about it and definitely absent of cookie specs. If this were just “sweet cream” soft serve, it would very much fit the name! It was nonetheless a nice cold soft serve - texture was smooth and sweet (just don’t expect any “cookie&cream” kinda taste) A lil’ downside would be the use of colouring here, instead of natural dyes. So...WARNING: You seriously will get coloured shit the next day. Mine was green/turquoise 🤢

Haji Lane Dessert Went to try this ice cream shop as there is Burpple 1for1 deal. Early Grey flavour (left) did not have strong taste of earl grey which is a bit disappointing while blue one tasted like oreo mcflurry. Price wise, it is definitely value for money as we only paid $7 for two cups of ice cream (using Burpple Beyond). Very generous serving of ice cream despite mediocre taste. Note that there are limited chairs inside the shop so it is more for takeaway. Taste: 6/10 Ambience: 6/10 Total damage: $3.5/pax - with Burpple Beyond

Irregular Sized Scones I came to this cafe many times and the scones were always sold out. Finally got my hands on one today (my second time having the scone), and I felt kinda cheated. I saw on the racks with bigger sized scones but perhaps I did a takeaway, they chose an extremely small one for me.

Chicken Tikka Sandwich ($13.90 before gst & service charge) Part of their weekday set lunch menu that gives you complimentary soup of the day or dessert. I chose dessert - small slice of nutty cake with a layer of chocolate sauce on top. Chicken breast+pesto+tomato+brie+sauce that taste like subway sweet onion between hot pressed ciabatta. Sandwich comes with a side of salad that seems to have no dressing so I did not touch that (maybe I should have added that to my sandwich in hindsight😂) Sandwich is nicely toasted. I like the sauce and bread but chicken breast is chicken breast - dry. Decent cafe sandwich at cafe prices. Will I go for the sandwiches again? I don’t know. Not the ones with chicken probably.

Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Tart ($8.45) At first glance, the tart looks shallow and I was worried the crust will be too thick and filling too little. I bought it because I was craving for chocolate tart😂 The crust is thick and buttery - in this case the thickness is just right because the dark chocolate and caramel is so rich, gooey and thick that you need a nice buttery crust to balance the richness. More filling would have made this tart too gelat to finish. Dark chocolate sea salt caramel combo never fails. I like the tart and will definitely buy it again. However, when I cut into it I noticed a huge blob of super sweet icing. Then I realised it must have been the icing they used to stick the tart base to the “tart holder” ( I have no idea what’s it called). Remember to check the bottom and scrap them off. I saw they have naked dark chocolate sea salt caramel cake too. Will give that a try next time

Me the cheese tea fan. Having tried Machi Machi elsewhere, I wondered how the Singapore outpost will serve their crafts. I got myself a black tea topped with a thinner-flavored cream cheese, with no other toppings. The tea is already fragrant by itself and I got it with lite sugar (I am normally a no sugar person) which helped to bring the flavor of the tea out a little bit more. The cream cheese does not overpower the tea at all. I did not use any straws, and chose to sip from the top layer instead, to get both the tea and cream in just nice proportion.

strawberry cheese im a big fan of strawberry cheese and this definetely did not let me down. creamy cheese and refreshing straberry tea at the bottom - comparable to heytea but it is less sweet (nothing good or bad abt it) only thing is they give less cheese than hey tea but other than that, a good option for bubble tea ard bugis. rly tasty crowd pleaser and would def recommend!
