Best Ice Cream Cones I've Had Don't forget their 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 ($1)! Crackling treats with nice touches of savouriness — pairs well with many of their flavours. - Another stunner was the 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲. It sported a luxurious sweetness which faded smoothly into subtlety, with caramel notes gracing the palate intermittently. ----- [𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙞𝙨] 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙨 & 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙂𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙤 📍 𝟴𝟬𝟮 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗱, # 𝟬𝟭-𝟬𝟭, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟳𝟳𝟬 ⏱️ (Temporary CB hours) 3pm-8.30pm, closed on Mondays

Great Inspired Flavours Underscored By Solid Textures I don't have a sweet tooth, not since my older days as a 120kg McDonald's-fuelled behemoth. Hence @monarchsandmilkweedgelato compelling my return (twice) was a feat. - Flavours here were inspired and elegantly layered. In particular the 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 ($4.90 single /$8 double) left a deep impression with creamy brown sugar notes melting into a light but intoxicating sage finish. 😩 ----- [𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙞𝙨] 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙨 & 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙂𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙤 📍 𝟴𝟬𝟮 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗱, # 𝟬𝟭-𝟬𝟭, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟳𝟳𝟬 ⏱️ (Temporary CB hours) 3pm-8.30pm, closed on Mondays

Unique Botanical Themed Gelato Flavours Interested to try some unique botanical themed gelato? Then check out Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato that serves an array of tantalising flavours from brown butter sage to burnt white chocolate to sea salt gula Jawa. 🍨 Opened earlier this year, it’s become a place to go to have a refreshing frozen treat in the already crowded Haji Lane/ Kampung Glam area. Went with the brown butter sage and soursop mint (premium flavour) flavours on a cone ($10). The brown butter sage had a buttery and slightly sweet overtone from the brown sugar. However, the herbal flavour profile from the sage didn’t stand out as much as I would like it to be. Soursop mint is really one interesting flavour. It’s hard to find soursop ice cream so I decided to give this a try. I was impressed by this. The sweet and slightly sour taste of the soursop paired really well with the mint leaves. It was certainly a creamy and refreshing treat on that very hot afternoon I visited. Not forgetting the waffle cone. What makes it distinct was how it’s savoury rather than sweet. Some may say it tastes salty the first time but I feel it’s an acquired taste. Freshly made on the day itself, the cones were crunchy and buttery. I couldn’t fathom what secret herb they added into the cone batter but definitely salt went into it. I’ve been back since my first visit and hope they’ll survive the critical CB period. Their gelato pints are now available for takeaways, so do support them.

A...lil’ slanted Earl Grey soft-serve tower Extremely earthy earl grey infused soft serve - a creamy in texture and not overly sweet. Comes w choice of fruit pebbles, chocolate rice etc toppings (pick only one!) A lil’ sad that they ran out of the charcoal cones on the day of visit (we visited pretty late into the evening; slightly before closing hours). Hoping for better luck next time!

Cookie & Cream ice-cream w Fruit Pebbles! At first sight, it’s a pretty fancy coloured soft serve, nicely twirled and dotted with fruit pebbles. At first taste, it was slightly disappointing - nothing very “cookie&cream” about it and definitely absent of cookie specs. If this were just “sweet cream” soft serve, it would very much fit the name! It was nonetheless a nice cold soft serve - texture was smooth and sweet (just don’t expect any “cookie&cream” kinda taste) A lil’ downside would be the use of colouring here, instead of natural dyes. So...WARNING: You seriously will get coloured shit the next day. Mine was green/turquoise 🤢

Haji Lane Dessert Went to try this ice cream shop as there is Burpple 1for1 deal. Early Grey flavour (left) did not have strong taste of earl grey which is a bit disappointing while blue one tasted like oreo mcflurry. Price wise, it is definitely value for money as we only paid $7 for two cups of ice cream (using Burpple Beyond). Very generous serving of ice cream despite mediocre taste. Note that there are limited chairs inside the shop so it is more for takeaway. Taste: 6/10 Ambience: 6/10 Total damage: $3.5/pax - with Burpple Beyond

Lunch at Malayan Council (Bussorah Street). Everything we order here is bombastically delicious. Fusion food traditional meets modern. The menu looks costlly but the portion they gave is genorous. We order 3 cocktails, 2 appetizers, 2 mains and 2 deserts for 4 people. On top of that TMC genorouslly gave us complimentary sambal kicap buffalow wing 😱👍 and durian pengat cake 🥰. $163 for 4 people when it actually should be for 6 to 7 people. We tapau some of the food home. Thus price range is like $23 to $27 per pax to satisfy food cravings and fill the stomach to its peak. TMC can be a weeklly or monthlly ocassion. Savoure the taste instead of filling the stomach. If accidentally order more than u can eat call me or call your friends. I am sure we will gladly finish up your food for you. 😊

Ondeh Ondeh Cake Haven't had this for awhile & when I ordered it, it tastes exactly how I remembered it! The Malayan Council's Ondeh Ondeh Cake is perhaps the most on point and similar to actual Ondeh ondeh. Every mouthful is filled with coconut shavings, soft Pandan sponge and sweet, thick, with crunchy bits of gula Melaka. The perfect sweet ending to a meal!

Smoked Duck Lemak Chilli Padi $29 The initial distaste at the overwhelming smell of truffle oil when we first entered the restaurant gave way to nods of approval once we tasted the dishes. The thick slices of smoked duck were supple and fatty, and the pasta perfectly al dente, but what impressed most was the well-balanced cream sauce spiked with a zing of chilli padi. Taste: 3.5/5

Me the cheese tea fan. Having tried Machi Machi elsewhere, I wondered how the Singapore outpost will serve their crafts. I got myself a black tea topped with a thinner-flavored cream cheese, with no other toppings. The tea is already fragrant by itself and I got it with lite sugar (I am normally a no sugar person) which helped to bring the flavor of the tea out a little bit more. The cream cheese does not overpower the tea at all. I did not use any straws, and chose to sip from the top layer instead, to get both the tea and cream in just nice proportion.

strawberry cheese im a big fan of strawberry cheese and this definetely did not let me down. creamy cheese and refreshing straberry tea at the bottom - comparable to heytea but it is less sweet (nothing good or bad abt it) only thing is they give less cheese than hey tea but other than that, a good option for bubble tea ard bugis. rly tasty crowd pleaser and would def recommend!

Sanobar-Gila Gula 🍵🥄 [HighTea] ⬇️ Authentic Lebanese Cuisine ⬇️ . Featuring the following: ▪️Kunafa ($12.90) ▪️Arayes ($19.90) ▪️Gorpis Ondeh ($10.90) . Sitauted along 48 Kandahar Street, 10mins walk from Bugis/Jalan Besar MRT, @sanobargilagula is offering their high tea from 2.30pm till 5.30pm daily (closed on Monday) with a garden theme atmosphere! . My favourite of all is their Gorpis Ondeh, the best seller that you should order with goreng pisang (banana fritters) with shredded cheese, coconut, pandan and gula melaka. Their Arayes was good too, it is a lebanese pita sandwich stuffed with minced lamb, fresh tomatos and spices. . To end off the meal, I will recommend Kunafa, it's a Middle East version of cheese Danish, topped with pastry and soaked in sweet syrup. Yummy! 😋 . Thank you @nikolai_wee for the invite and @sanobargilagula for having us! 🙆🏻‍♂️ . #sgfood #sanobargilagula #lebanese #dessert #halalsg #halal #halalfood #foodie #instafood #tslmakan #8dayseat #local #burpple #foodies #singapore #singaporeinsiders #burpplesg #eatsnapsg #ashleynoms #foodreviewsmr #hungrygowhere #vsco #vscofood #vscomcam #throwback
