Dinner in the Dark ($88++ for 12 tasting dishes). I thoroughly enjoyed my first dinner experience at NOX, even though they've been around since 2013. It was an emotive dinner experience, as I went through excitement and anxiety, followed by plenty of mystery and fun as I got used to the darkness. 🔸 The loss of vision is said to heighten your sense of taste, though I'm not exactly sure of that, as it could be attributed to the use of stronger flavours and more premium ingredients. However, what is certain is that I heard every word my dining companions said over dinner (yes, no distractions due to mobile phones or checking out of cute people across the table!). Good place for bonding. 🔸 Even if you've been here before, you could consider checking it out again as they have a new Head Chef Shahrom, as well as locally inspired cocktails and mystery drink tasting experiences by Head Bartender Hussien. 🔸 Dinner menu changes monthly, but should always consist of 3 courses with 4 tasting dishes per course (4 appetizer, 4 mains, and 4 desserts). For an additional $50++ per person, you can opt for their newly launched mystery cocktail tasting experience featuring three libations; or $40++ for three wines to pair with the dinner. 🔸 Pictured is my pre-dinner cocktail - Raspberry Dance ($20++) with Vodka, Peach Liqueur, Egg White, Lemon and Raspberries. A sweet and refreshing drink to get you in the mood first :) 🔸 🔸 [Hosted]

Unique Experience Have u ever tried dining in complete darkness? Now I can say I have. As one of your senses is made redundant, your taste buds senses become more sensitive. The food we had was very flavourful, we had a fun time trying to identify the food we had at the end of dinner. Very very expensive though Great experience, but I may not return again due to the price of this place. Total damage for two(with cocktail package):$340(after gst)

For a Dining Adventure in the Dark Apart from the fact that eating in complete darkness is a unique dining experience we recommend trying at least once in your life, NOX also supports and provides employment to visually impaired individuals, all of whom have been trained to guide and serve — which they do with utmost professionalism! Like NOX aptly writes on its website, "it is a truly human experience when the roles are reversed and the blind become your eyes". The meal begins with a cocktail in the warmly lit romantic lounge (this place is perfect for a cheeky date night!), after which the prix fixe dinner ($88 per person) is a mystery menu consisting of 12 dishes set over three courses. Trust us — it is perfectly okay to dig in with your hands. You can choose to add on wine pairing (from $30 for two glasses) and request for a vegetarian or vegan menu. Bring your sense of fun and adventure. Reservations highly recommended. Price: $88 per person Photo by Burppler Rachael Wong

No Longer The Same After my friend saw it back at Eatigo again, he asked me out to try this. The last time we had it was 2 years ago. We ordered Mac n Cheese ($18), Seafood Pizza ($22), Cheese Fries ($8), Chicken Cheesesteak Sandwich ($15) & Chocolate Lave Cake ($12). The Mac n Cheese stands out the most with the how cheesy it is and what's more, there is a whole cheese sausage in it. The Cheese Fries & Chicken Cheesesteak Sandwich is average. What disappoint me was the Seafood Pizza & Chocolate Lava Cake. The Seafood Pizza's dough was hard and dry. It is tough to eat. The Chocolate Lava Cake which is the shop's highlight, was a great disappointment. The Chocolate Lava Cake became smaller than the last time we came and it was served lukewarm instead of pipping hot. If not for the eatigo discount, I don't think I will come again. In total, we spend $39.94 after eatigo 50% & Friends halalfoodhunt.com 15%. Hopefully, they will improve their quality of food.

Mini Molten Lava Cake This is a "+2 add-on" to the pasta meal I ordered. This small sized molten lava cake is served warm. The texture of the cake is great - very subtly crispy on the surface, and moist and cakey for the rest of it. The chocolate lava that flows out is of a perfect viscosity and tastes richly chocolatey too. They also serve a regular sized lava cake as a full dessert (better for sharing) at a higher price around SGD$10. My rating: 9/10

Aglio Olio Spaghetti (SGD$9.90 set which includes 1 pasta + 1 drink + 1 mini molten lava cake ) Flavourful garlic-infused aglio olio pasta with colourful bell peppers and juicy onions. These vegetables add a sweet contrast to the savoury spaghetti. Delicious option for a vegetarian pasta meal. My rating: 8/10

Bottled Cocktails From The Bar Ranked No. 12 On The World’s 50 Best List. G I F T E D There’s no need to stay dry during this #StayHome period when Singapore’s top bars have hustled to come up with ingenious ways to get their liquid concoctions to us (and goodness knows we need it more than ever!). A fine example is @NativeBarSg, ranked no. 12 on #Worlds50bestbars. I got to try their new range of bottled cocktails when co-owner Vijay dropped them off at my home two nights ago. After opening the first of their four cocktails, the “Hibiscus” to be specific, you can colour me impressed. I loved its refreshing and none-too-sweet blend of hawthorn distillate, hibiscus jus and kithul palm syrup coupled with the buzz from the high alcohol kick (approximately 23% to 25%). I am now more excited than ever to slowly savour the other three: - The “Foragers’ Garden” - Composed of housemade matcha, bluepea flowers, calamansi and matcha kombucha, this also has an alcohol content of about 23% to 25%. - The “Peranakan” - A jackfruit rum, laksa leaves, goat’s milk, candlenut and gula melaka blend that is stronger at 30% alcohol level. - The “Pineapple Arrack” - An even more potent creation with Ceylon arrack, old coconuts, pineapple skin and Sri Lankan spices, estimated to hit the 33% to 35% mark in alcohol. Their bottled cocktails are extremely easy to enjoy as they only need to be stuck in the fridge to chill (shelf life is 6 months but frankly, I am sure to be done with them much quicker) and then poured over ice. One bottle is good for between 6 and 8 portions, which makes it good value and more importantly, very-pleasurable-bang-for-your-buck if you ask me. To order, just DM @NativeBarSg on Instagram.

Sarapan (meaning breakfast in Bahasa) Nowadays I fall in love with coffee cocktails. I like the taste and how it's being presented.

Strawberry Kimchi ($23) Sweet, sour, spicy, salty - all in one drink. Still very impressed by how enthusiastic the bar tenders here are!
