Disappearing Unicorn Interesting dishes. Each dish has a unique twist to it. Staff were also superbly friendly which makes the who experience great! Would be back to try the other dishes for sure. They also have their in house one for one promotions running..

Unagi With Garlic Fried Rice ($24) I was looking forward to it as previous reviews said they were generous with the unagi. But to my disappointment it was quite small, about 7cm by 5 cm. The meat was quite thin as well, sometimes I felt that I was eating the skin and fat more than the meat. The fried rice was really flavourful. There was a strong wokhei taste that brought this rice to the next level. I got 50% off for this on eatigo so it was a reasonable meal. But at full price, given the size of unagi, I think it's not worth. (am hoping they did not reduce the size of unagi knowing I was on eatigo). I tried Uncle Kiisu once before, a few days after it opened. I had a great experience then. The food was good and portion size decent too. I feel like they mightve cut back which is a tad disappointing.

Unagi + Spicy Crab Fried Rice Damage: $24 (after 1for1 on #burpplebeyond) Unagi fried rice was underwhelming. The fish itself is so small I think its smaller than my palm. Original price is $21+ which is very overpriced imo. Spicy crab fried rice is okay. Rice is fragrant, generous amount of tiny scallops and chopped prawns. Still, I wouldn't pay the original amount for it. Still have un-redeemed deals on #burpplebeyond but I probably won't be going back. But do give it a shot if you're a major fried rice lover. 🍚

🎶There can be miracles, when you BEliEF~🎶 . Rakki Bowl is where you would be stepping into a café filed with a strong aroma of truffle oil that was destined to stay for good 🤤🤤🤤 as every table ordered their specialty - Signature Truffle Wagyu Don ($25.90 for Large, $13.90 for Regular). ⭐ . Featuring a generous amount of thinly-sliced wagyu beef & a perfectly runny onsen egg which lay atop their secret-flavoured rice blend, finished with a drizzle of irresistible Italian Black Truffle Oil, those with a heavy palate would surely enjoy this bowl! ❤❤❤ . I’m not kidding when I say that every mouthful was bursting with flavours! 😋 The beef was indeed pretty tender despite being not too fatty, & it just screams TRUFFLE!!! 💯 The jiggly onsen egg made everything in the bowl gel together so harmoniously. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 . The cons is that it might get a little surfeiting after a while due to its richness in flavours, so bring a friend along if you’re ordering the Large portion! 😉 . Might not be the best beef bowl around but definitely memorable! #burpplebeyond fans would surely rejoice over this! 💕

Beef Bowl (L - $29.90) One of my favorite to-go-to beef bowl places :-) and so I have used up all my rakki bowls deals on the beyond app - which shows how yummy this is! But have to say that although the bigger bowl is really massive and generous (bound to fill you up), the sauce was insufficient & made the last bits of beef pretty dry...so in retrospect, maybe the smaller bowl would suffice with a good dessert choice after :-) Will definitely be back again!

Mentaiko Salmon Don Popped by and got the Mentaiko Salmon Don as I was in the area. Came up to around $13/ person using Burpple Beyond. It was well-worth the price as it came with huge salmon chunks, soaked in mentaiko sauce. If you’re a big fan of mentaiko you’ll love this! Portion of fish roe was kinda small but nonetheless a good place to satisfy your Jap food cravings ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

[Sora Boru] - The Volcano Beef Don looks like a active volcano in eruption with lava (red spicy sauce) flowing down on its side. The thinly sliced beefs were tender with hint of smokiness. What I like is the bed of vegetables that helps to cut those richness. . Find out more at https://www.sgfoodonfoot.com/2019/04/sora-boru-313-somerset-new-japanese.html . SORA BORU Volcano Beef Don ($7.50 / $11.90) Resembling an erupting volcano with lava oozing down its side. They don't skimp on the portion as there's a small mountain of beef atop stewed cabbage with a bed of Japanese steamed rice beneath. The lava is actually Korean gojuchang. surprise surprise to find out there are some Korean elements to this. haha. Despite calling itself Volcano, the spice level is pretty mild and palatable for most people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Snow Beef Don ($7.50 / $11.90) I think you can guess why it's call snow beef don... LOL Does it feel like a snow mountain that is melting coz the sun is too hot? I feel like the grated parmesan can be increased in portion and can add more of their special sweet-savory sauce made from whipping cream. Everything is the same except you can choose from bean sprouts and cabbage for both rice bowls. The sweet sauce goes well with the beef. I felt that the rice is extra silky when everything is mixed well. Thumbs up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We used the DFD promo so we got 1 mini bowl for free! YAY for awesome promotion like this which encourages us to try out new food. We got the Bara Chirashi Ebimayo Aburi Don and soba with tempura. The chirashi although mini in size is packed full of small chunks of fresh seafood. The tempura is also fried crispy to a golden brown.

Taiwan Mazesoba Super worth it for beyond burpple 1-for-1 ($12.80). There is free upsize for their noodles. Taste good, love their noodle texture, however, personally I feel that their tanjong pagar branch of kajiken has a more balanced taste. Rating: 2.5/5

1 for 1 Nagoya Style Mazesoba Arguably their most popular dish, the noodles were blanketed by a literal mountain of spring onions, chives and spicy pork, topped with a creamy onsen egg. My dining partner and I added flavored eggs on top of that. We tossed the noodles for 20 seconds and dug right in. It tasted like an atas version of fishball noodles (really delicious). The noodles were firm and springy to the bite, and the contrasting texture of the crunchy greens gave me the true 'party in my mouth' experience. The pork and the chili oil were just spicy enough to give my taste buds a kick. Much appreciated the free flow ice water to quench the heat of this delicious dish! They also provide a small bowl of soup to pour into the puddle of sauce that remains after finishing the noodles, and then the mixture is spooned or slurped up to polish off the meal. It was such a good deal for $9.30 per pax (with additional flavored egg). The portion was hearty and just nice to leave room for dessert. Overall, would love to come back and try their other dishes, especially with the Burpple 1 for 1. :) 7.5/10

Mazesoba Soft Boiled Egg $12.30 Lunchtime in the weekend is surprisingly not crowded. We visit this Kajiken outlet at Tan Quee Luan (next to Kinmoo). Cozy space with friendly staff, we enjoy 1-for-1 burpple Beyond deal and ordering the soft boiled version with 2 hot green tea $1 each. The mazesoba is nice on its own once you dig deep as the sauce is laying at the bottom of the bowl. Thank you @Burpple for such a great deal! 🙏😊

👉Charcoal Grilled Miso Marinated Black Cod Set👈 Comes with diced pickled Japanese plums, grated radish, grilled cheddar cheese and baby potato 。 Officially opened since the start of this month (1st April), Charcoal-Grill & Salad Bar Keisuke is Keisuke Group’s 19th outlet, hidden at a corner of @payalebarsquare Basement 1. They serve a variety of sumiyaki (charcoal-grilled) items, focusing mainly on traditional fish dishes such as the Mackerel, Salmon, Yellowtail and Black Cod. Comes in an authentic yet affordable Japanese gozen (set meal) which consist of miso soup, onsen egg & Japanese rice cooked in a small iron pot, you also get to enjoy the free-flow salad bar (Swipe 👈 to the end for 📹). 。 Grilled perfectly over bincho-tan (white charcoal), you won’t be disappointed when you sink your teeth into any of these decadently fatty flesh. It was also interesting how the grilled cheddar cheese complemented the fish so well, injecting a new dimension to each bite. 。 P.S. Loving their coffee jelly... Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worth The Hype? Go for the Saba set ($11.90): the meat was succulent and juicy, and its flavor can never go wrong. In fact, I enjoyed the saba set the most out of the other meat (salmon, cod, chicken) The rest were nothing amazing Honestly, I doubt I will return for a second visit, especially not with the long queue
