Mee Pok Dry $5 This is at Suntec City. Big portion for $5. Generous portion of mee pok. Filling and decent. They are opened weekdays 1130-3pm. This place at night is OSGbbar at Suntec. Daytime is shared between a nasi lemak stall and 58 minced meat noodles. It used to be at Taman Jurong but they have branched out to feed the Suntec crowd. Good exposure.

Hearty breakfast in the west! A good bowl of minced meat noodles in Jurong, and I am finally ready for Endgame! Happy holidays everyone!

Minced meat noodles ($3/$3.50/$4). Grew up eating this bak chor mee from @58mincedmeatnoodle since they started business at the old Taman Jurong Food Centre. Although it is now run by the second generation, the taste does evoke nostalgia. So does the long queue. • The popular noodle choice was Mee Kia but sadly it was sold out by the time we went. My bowl of Mee Pok was softer than the al dente that I would prefer. The sauce base was light on vinegar, but you can always help yourself to the bottles of vinegar provided. I asked for a mix of chili sauce and ketchup, enjoying both tanginess and spiciness. Each bowl comes with an abundance of minced pork, tender sliced pig liver, sliced pork, meatball and mushrooms, accompanied by a bowl of soup that’s not heavily dosed with MSG. #burpple #burpplesg #sgfood #sgfoodies #sgigfood #sgeats #wheretoeatsg #whati8today #foodporn #sgfoodporn #instafood_sg #sgmakandiary #sgmakan #sgfooddiary #foodphotography #sgfoodpics #sgfoodstagram #foodstagram #foodgasm #sghawker #loveforhawkerfood #ourhawkerculture #tamanjurongfoodcentre #58mincedmeatnoodle #mincedmeatnoodles #bakchormee

Seafood Hor Fun 🍤 5-6 mins in the microwave and this Seafood Hor Fun (U.P. $4; Promo $3.50) is piping hot and ready to eat. Big flat noodles are soft with a bit of bounce in chew. While the gravy is rather plain, the charring of horfun imparts some wok hei. Stronger smoky fragrance from frying longer though, would improve it much. Fresh ingredients accompany every spoonful. With the crunch of bitter caixin, salty slices of fish cake, my favourite is the sweet burst of fresh, meaty prawns. Shredded chicken chewed tough but I might have nuked my meal a tad extra (oops!) . This Vendcafe by @chefinboxsg dispenses western and local cuisines heated, or frozen for takeaway. Blast-frozen upon cooking, it retains freshness and nutrition without processing. Some come with nutrition labels if you're conscious. It's a convenient fix, I'll say, for a late night, with drinks and snacks being options too. . Credit Cards, Nets Flash Pay and coins are allowed. Note, however, that the Western Delights machine only accepts $2 and $5 notes.

Reasons to dropby the otherwise ulu mrt station -Lakeside. @chefinboxsg serves food prepared by chefs in fururistic vending machines. They have drinks, grab-to-go snacks, chilled food (only need 30s to heat) and frozen (need 3mins to heat) at fairly affordable prices. The most convenient part is that u can use your credit cards or ezlink cards to pay. A glimpse of how the future of our food industry will be like. And u'll be surprised just how popular this vendcafe is. . We tried their dry meesiam, seafood paella, chicken and mushroom soup after a jog. Basic instant food which serves as a quick fix. . #chefinbox #brandcellar #chefinboxsg #vendcafe #meesiam

Lobster Pasta - S$16.50 Day's special. From a HDB Kopitiam at block 526. Previously located at 517 Jurong West. Prepared fresh, as I was given a peek of the crate of live lobsters. Meat is succulent and enriched by the sweet, tang tomato sauce. Bowen's give fantastic food, and it seems like their food is always adjusting to consumer tastes. The problem is the location of the place is pretty hard to get to, being 13 mins walk away from Lakeside MRT. If you do visit I do suggest ordering the specials, as they seem to do different things from duck confit to grilled lobsters to wild boar pasta. A hidden gem indeed. Though a whole lobster looks impressive on the plate, it means that the small morsels of meat from inside the legs and claw knuckles are hard to extract. Full review: https://justafatboi.com/bowens/

Tender Enough BBQ Ribs Full Rack ($21) This is NOT on the regular menu; apparently a special that Bowen's told us about when we were placing our orders. They have half-rack portions as well. Portion-wise, this isn't as substantial as, say, Morganfield's, but it is good value for money. The ribs themselves were delicious, & the meat is tender & juicy. However, the BBQ sauce tastes very generic; those who don't enjoy slightly sour/vinegary/salty BBQ sauces may not like this. I scraped off some of the sauce & enjoyed the meat with lil' bit of BBQ flavour; I liked it. 💵 Cash only ☀ Alfresco seats only 🚫 No WiFi (it's in a coffeeshop!)

Something Unique Signature Spaghetti with Wild Boar Sauce ($8.90) This looks fairly ordinary & even bordering on gross-looking (sorry), but I enjoyed it. The sauce tastes somewhat like a creamy ragu, if that even makes sense. The standard pasta is spaghetti, but I was offered the Fettuccine option which apparently pairs better with the sauce. I wholeheartedly agree! It scoops up the sauce nicely & with every bite there is a nice portion of pasta with the good ol' sauce dribbling off of it. I could imagine some folks wanting more meat or ingredients in this dish, but this did not bother me (for some strange reason). 💵 Cash only ☀ Alfresco seats only 🚫 No WiFi (it's in a coffeeshop!)

Swiss Rosti With An Asian Twist Added smoked salmon to zhng up the plain-looking swiss shredded fried potatos to something that can relates with the hearts of Asian, especially Singaporeans. Very crispy rosti that was oily. The doop of sour cream tasted quite neutral hence no brownie points added to salvage the dish. But the 2 slices of smoked salmon was definitely one of the saviour. You may want to leave some space for others and come back to this is you have spare cash or more space in stomach after trying others.

#cxyi - 10th Aug 2019 - hotpot craving but was on a budget. so she found a place on eatigo at ulu yuan ching. but upon reaching, we realized the buffet more value than the discounted eatigo price, and so we opted for the premium steamboat buffet. - soups were served in individual pots and the mushroom flavour was alright. average. the chicken flavour tasted weird, so we requested to change it to the pork flavour and it tasted as weird as well. - and while we were ranting about the soup, the ingredients arrived and the quality was actually quite power. the beef was sliced thinly and the nice beefy yet not overpowering taste was there. hokkaido scallops were plump and juicy. - other good stuff include the lala, pork belly and prawns. with these ingredients and other supporting vegetables like radish and corn, we were able to modify our soup to a more palatable one. hence, the only remaining gripe is the location but the budget makes up for it. - $27 per pax. - #bbqchiefhotpot #hotpot #steamboat #beef #porkbelly #prawn #scallop #cxyixhotpot #burpple #hungrygowhere #8dayseat #whati8today #igfood #foodstagram #sgfoodporn #sgfooddiary #sgig #igsg #singaporeeats #sgeats #sgfoodie #sgfoodies #sgfood

Fish Lor Mee Finally reached the other side of SG for this bowl of lor mee. As expected, the queue was rather long but fret not, it's moving fast. Topped up $0.50 for fishes on top of the original lor mee. Comes with fried meat ball and sliced fish cake too. I like how the gravy is not heavy on starch - yummeh! 》$3.50

For Lor Mee Worth Queuing For Come hungry for a bowl of tasty and hearty Lor Mee ($3.50) that Tastemaker Amanda Liu loves. It's hard to miss this third-floor stall in Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre — you need only look for the queue. While some lor mee gravies tend to be too starchy, the sauce here is thick without being overly gloopy, and is so full of flavour! The dish comes with heaps of toppings including the much raved about deep-fried ngoh hiang meat balls, along with a spoonful of vinegar, garlic and chilli padi — bring your appetite, but probably not a new love interest! Mix well before slurping up all that slippery goodness. The stall closes at 3pm, so visit for breakfast or lunch. Pro tip: Tastemaker Acamas Teo spotted another outlet of Feng Zhen Lor Mee at the S11 Foodcourt opposite Yew Tee MRT Station. This stall opens only until noon, or till stocks last. Avg Price: $5 per person Photo by Burpple Tastemaker Amanda Liu

Mango Ice Kachang 2.8 Nett Mango syrup was nice and not overpowering so you get to taste the other syrups as well. Cant really taste the condensed milk for some reason but still really good overall

Durian Ice Kacang 2.8nett The syrups were sufficiently sweet and each had a distinct flavour too, however the durian puree overpowers the other flavours. Generous amounts of ingredients below while the durian puree was pungent and smooth. Delicious and a steal at its price

Dessert U Have To Try❤ "The winner here is Durian Ice Kachang🎉🎉!" The location is quite far from where i live😭. The nearest bus stop is Blk 463. I went there in the afternoon, and ordered durian ice kachang, bo bo cha cha, and mango sago. - Durian Ice Kachang ($2.8) They shaped the ice like a big ball, and put 4 types of syrup. Suprisingly, in the bottom of the bowl, there are a lot of things, such as red beans, jelly, corn, etc. They also gave a generous amount of durian and put it on top! So durian lovers, come and try! - Bo Bo Cha Cha ($2.3) It's similar as another bo bo cha cha i've ever tried, but this one is less sweet, i like the taste of it. Ordered for the hot one, i think it'll be nice if it is hotter. - Mango Sago ($3) They give generous amount of mango. And pink, green jelly. Mango is not too sweet. The taste is quite blur for me. This place is having people coming in again and again, and most of them take it home. So i think this place is quite famous and delicious. Because the price is supeerrr reasonable!
