For Unique Ice Cream Flavours Just a short walk from Potong Pasir MRT, find this minimalist-chic ice cream store along a row of shophouses. Indulge in the Double Scoop Ice Cream ($6.70) – we recommend adding a dollar to snag Premium flavours! Noteworthy ones include the well-textured Cereal, fragrant Honey Chrysanthemum and savoury-sweet Ricotta for a perfectly balanced treat. Make it a sweet trip with the light and fluffy Waffles ($5.80)! Photo by Burppler Gabriel Tang Jia Liang

Amazing Ice Cream And Waffles!! The honeycomb, coconut mango and Nutella ice cream are amazing! Haven’t had good waffles in a while but this place reminded me of how waffles should be - fluffy, crispy and buttery! Would definitely come back again.

Double Scoop Ice Cream With Waffles We got 1 scoop of honey chrysanthemum with cacao nibs and 1 scoop of ricotta with pistachio bits ($6.70 for double scoop + $1 each for premium flavour) on top of a light, crispy and fluffy plain waffle ($5.80). Their honey chrysanthemum with cacao nibs reminded us of Birds of Paradise white chrysanthemum. It was not overly sweet yet had a hint of chrysanthemum. The ricotta with pistachio bits had whole pistachio nuts in the once cream, breaking the creaminess with crunchiness. Their scoops were relatively large and we found ourselves taking bites of the waffle even without the accompaniment of the ice cream, leaving us with more ice cream to savour. Sweet Cheeks only opened 2 weeks ago, and yet they have already figured out most of their unique ice cream flavours, leaving us with a tough choice to narrow down our selection to only 2 flavours. Some of the other flavours which were good are, coconut mango, honey comb, their signature cinnamon and brown bread, hazelnut with Nutella swirl and cereal milk. It is only a short walk away from Potong Pasir Mrt station and with various other good food options nearby, it is definitely a place to go to for dessert after a meal. This new ice cream joint is one of my favourite go-to ice cream places now! Total: $14.50

Fish Steamboat The fish portion seems to have shrunk but nevertheless still fresh. My favourite place for a reliable and affordable good fish steamboat . You get chunky slices of yam , baby spinach, seaweed and cabbage in your steamboat . The soup base is just so full of umami from the fried dried sole fish . And I promise you wont feel thirsty after drinking the soup😊 Service is fast and prompt - dont expect friendly smiles though 🤣

A comforting fishhead steamboat on a rainy day truly warmed our hearts 💕 Flavoured with yam, lettuce and spinach for sweetness, the soup is boiled with charcoal and was brimming with chunks of fresh fish! Although I'm not a huge fan of fish, this steamboat appealed much to me with its flavourful broth and fresh meat! We also ordered the prawn omelette, hong shao tofu, pork rib, and our ultimate favourite - crispy fried chicken 😍 It was fingerlicking good and left us craving for more! Although the place was packed with people and it was a crammed dining spot, the quality of the food totally won us over and we left the place with satisfied bellies 😍 The ANTicipated scale ⚖ 👅Flavour: 9.5 ants 💰Value: 8 ants 📍Convenience: 7 ants

Sambal Toufu You have heard of sambal prawns, sambal stingray , sambal goreng but have you heard of sambal toufu? Extremely addictive - it’s tastes very much like chilli crab sauce . Each morsel of soft egg toufu is covered and drenched in this sambal egg sauce . Be prepared to wolf down a huge bowl of rice with this very unique dish .

Ha Ha Cheong Gai drumlets 2 pieces for S$2.20 Tasted a lot more like salt fried chicken than prawn paste chicken, as did the burger. Felt disappointed. Drumlets may still be worth a try. Full review: https://justafatboi.wordpress.com/2018/07/18/mcdonalds-haha-cheong-gai-burger-and-drumlets-review/

Tong Luo Wan 铜锣湾 Dishing out limited portions of roast meats to the neighbourhood of Potong Pasir, Tong Luo Wan is a new charcoal roasts stall that operates from 7am till sell out. Think the classic offerings of Roast Duck, Soy Sauce Chicken, Roast Pork, and Char Siew which the chef had learnt to prepare from someone who honed his craft in Hong Kong. My favourite of the lot, the Soy Sauce Chicken 油鸡 ($8/lower quarter & $7/upper quarter) was succulent, savoury and saucey - perfect with a steaming bowl of rice. The Char Siew 叉烧 ($10 portion) was also well-executed though they were sliced much thinner than I preferred in order to cater to the more elderly customers that they get at the coffeeshop. Similarly, the Roast Duck 当归烤鸭 ($12/lower quarter & $11/upper quarter), which was initially done with a more pungent hit of dang gui was toned down with the feedback of the diners. Yet as one who loves a stronger herbal flavour, I am still able to appreciate the subtleness and the pairing with the natural sweetness of the meat. The mee kia too, was cooked to a springy perfection. Thank you @alhsx for the kind invitation and @jthejon for the hospitality! . 📌Tong Luo Wan 铜锣湾 Jin Biao Coffee Shop 锦标咖啡店 Block 136 Potong Pasir Ave 3

Roast Meats Roast Meats . For affordable roast meats, Tong Luo Wan charcoal roasts serves up an array of roast duck ($12/lower quarter), char siew ($40/kg), roast pork ($40/kg) and soy sauce chicken ($7/lower quarter). TLW specializes in herbal roast duck prepared with dang gui. Amongst the meats we sampled, all the roast were above average though I prefer my roast duck with a stronger herbal flavour. The char siew was nicely charred but could be sliced thicker for a stronger flavour. The stall sells out after lunch and is quite a popular spot for the folks in the neighbourhood. . Thank you @alhsx for the invitation and @jthejon for the hospitality.

🎶You treat me like a ROAST~ You give me room to grow~🎶 Nestled in the friendly neighbourhood of Potong Pasir is Tong Luo Wan Charcoal ROAST, a humble 3-month-old stall serving up beautiful roasts at reasonable prices! 👌🏻 You can lay your hands on their Soy Sauce Chicken Noodles at just $3 😉, or go for their Roasted Pork or Char Siew Noodles at $3.50! Roasted Duck Noodles are priced at $4 but this would be my recommended! 💕 . My favourite has got to be their Dang Gui Duck 🦆, which exudes a soothing herbal taste without being overwhelming. ✔ The lean slices of duck meats were thick but remained tender, which deserves a round of applause! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Having absorbed all the essence from the marinade & ingredients, the meats were moist & bursting with juices in every bite. 🤤 . Their soy sauce chicken 🐓 was pretty succulent & the savoury notes of the braising liquid won me over. 😋 Crowned with a nice crackling which I enjoyed is their roasted pork, with a balanced lean-fat ratio. 🐖 While the char siew is sufficiently tender, the sauce leaned on the sweet side for me. . Itching to try all of them? 😍😍😍 Sure - you can enjoy 3 meats at $9 or even a platter of 4 meats at $12! 😉
