I seldom eat steamboat but when I do, I mainly go to Suki-ya. The sukiyaki and butaniku soup bases, thinly sliced pork, cheese balls are my must-haves. Prices are kinda ex for weekend dinners ($26.90++) so I recommend to go for weekend lunches ($20.90++). Must make reservations else be prepared to queue.

Japanese Steamboat For big eaters like me and bf, we had a impromptu Suki-ya lunch. Lunch is cheaper and even cheaper on weekdays. Apparently it's 17++ a person usually, but they had some promotion that the second person is only 11.90!!! Funny we were too hungry that we didn't know till we had to pay the bill. It's really worth the price. We took lots if meat, really a lot for just 2 people and add veg to make the soup better. They have 6 kinds of jap style soup to cater those who like spicy and non spicy kinds, even the one for Shabu-shabu. It was a great experience there too. Good food, good price.

Halal Buffet I'm now in a food coma after the delicious spread of food at @TheLandmarkSingapore in @VillageInSG The first smell that hit me when I walked into the restaurant was the mouth watering Tulang. Rich creamy, full bodied soup, accompanied with huge bones with fork tender meat. Another must try item was the Butter Chicken 🐔 . Super tender chicken, covered in a rich buttery sauce. The Chilli Crab 🦀 served here, wasn't the usual type with watery sauce to mop up with buns. Instead the version here was flower crabs covered in a rich and thick sambal paste. ~ Promotion 🎈 Pay for 4 diners for its buffet and the 5th diner eats free. Book through @HungryGoWhere mobile app or website. Valid till 31 March 2017 ~ The best public transport route to get to the restaurant is take MRT to Bugis MRT Station (DT14/ EW12). #TheFoodieExpress @LTASG | The Landmark A Gathering Place Address 🏠 : 390 Victoria Street, # 05-01 Village Hotel Bugis (formerly known as Landmark Village Hotel), Singapore 🇸🇬 188 061 Tel ☎️ : 6299 1512/ 6299 7786 Open 💈 : Mon - Thu : 6.30am - 11pm Fri - Sun : 6.30am - 1am MRT 🚇 : Bugis (DT14/ EW12) Note 📝 : Lunch 🍴 Mon - Sat : S$20++/ adult, S$13++/ child Sun : S$25++/ adult, S$13++/ child Dinner 🍴 Mon - Thu : S$30++/ adult, S$15++/ child Fri - Sun : S$35++/ adult, S$15++/ child

Buffet team lunch at the landmark! The nicer items were the dessert menu and the black pepper prawns. #burpple #burpplesg #landmarkrestaurant #landmarkbuffet

Rasa Sayang BBQ Seafood Buffet at Royale The lovely plate of barbecued seafood from the Rasa Sayang BBQ Seafood Buffet at Royale! My favourite barbecued item was probably the plump scallops, with a slightly sour, gingery sauce and minced garlic on top. Otherwise, the steak was not bad - quite tender and had a charcoal taste from the grill, although on the thinner side. For the other dishes, I loved the creme brûlée (simple but creamy and amazingly satisfying to crack that layer of sugar) 🙌🏻 and har cheong gai wings. There are about 2 rows of local food, a table of desserts (with an ice kachang machine), a salad and chilled seafood bar and DIY Rojak station, and the highlight - the grilled seafood, which is done by a chef at an outdoor area. Overall, I felt the food was decent, but the replenishing of buffet dishes could have been done a bit more frequently. The Rasa Sayang BBQ Seafood Buffet is available at the restaurant, Royale, in Mercure Singapore Bugis for $68++ until 9 December. It’s a bit pricy, but there is a 1 for 1 promo if you’re a UOB cardholder. Thanks @burpple for the invite and @mercuresingaporebugis for hosting us!
