Buah Keluak Dry Ramen $13 Lots of intriguing fusion dishes over at Babasan, including this moreish Buah Keluak Dry Ramen that’s a melting pot of Korean, Japanese and Peranakan influences. Ramen noodles are layered over bibimbap-style with a wide array of toppings such as crab meat, bamboo shoots, spring onion and pickled radish for plenty of crunch and texture. The pork here is served two ways – minced and also as a fatty, melt-in-your-mouth cut. When it comes to the dish’s namesake, the buah keluak sauce is earthy and fragrant without overpowering the other ingredients. Mix well to enjoy! Best thing? This place is also on #BurppleBeyond Taste: 3/5

Belly Roll Mee Siam ($15 +10% Svc) I don't normally go for pork belly (I like fats in my meat to be more evenly spread out), but this is an interesting take on it, with mee siam in the middle and mee siam gravy. Pork was fork tender and skin was perfect and crackling. You can easily scrape off the layer of fat if it gets too jelak. The accompanying kimchi was quite tasteless tho, would have preferred something more tangy, perhaps achar or pickles. You get 1-for-1 on this with #burpplebeyond, and you can even top up $3 for a drink and a small side. . 💡 : babasan has taken over the old boat q Fu Lin YTF location

Glad It’s Back! We ordered two appetisers and four main dishes for dinner as a family of five. All the dishes were very unique, boasting savoury flavours that are manifested from a creative choice and fusion of ingredients. We really the Macbabasan and Yuzu Ochazuke 😍 Their conner’s stout and Kronenbourg Blanc beer was very enjoyable too. The beer had a fruity and sweet smell and taste with a mild beer aftertaste, while the stout had a very strong malt fragrance. Will definitely be back for more! 🤗

Amazing Food, Ambience and Service The food here is great! We had Masala Fish and Chips, and Sambal Fish and Chips and it was really savoury. Had the Butter Beer as well. It reminded me of the one we had in Universal Studios. Maybe come up with a Carbonated version? Will support! The combination of the sauces were spot on with the fishes, and the fries were hand prepped, with skin still on, even though we could do with more Masala sauce on the side with the fish. Service staffs were friendly, courteous and felt welcoming throughout the entire dining experience. Location was easy to get to, and felt cozy on the second floor, with the amazing deco around the shop. Definitely will visit again! Keep up the good work guys!

Cheeky Git ($21.90) Made a reservation on Chope and I’m glad I did because the restaurant was apparently full house for the night. When we ordered, we were told that food might take a while to be served, so at least they warned us. Thankfully, we had a lot to chat about so time passed pretty quickly while we were waiting. The Cheeky Git is a cheeky name for a braised beef cheek dish served atop mashed potatoes. The beef was fork tender and my dining party was amazed at how soft it was. With Burpple Beyond 1 for 1 Main Dishes, this was very affordable and high quality. Would make a return visit for this dish!

Great Food And Service 👍 Food was amazing! Love the Fish&Chips! It’s crispy, full of taste and I couldn’t get enuf of the truffle fries at the side❤️ the pesto cream fish was not to my taste as I prefer the fish to have a stronger taste, but the mash potato mix well with the sauce. Also, The Ribena with mint was an interesting taste as well! We waited for a Long time for our food and even though we have no complaints, we were given an in house white chocolate cake to compensate our time, and because of the wonderful overall experience we would definitely come back again!

Seafood Ceviche With Tortilla Chips ($16). Check out the tender morsels of seafood, marinated in citrus, in the seafood ceviche. Prawns, squids, mussels and a medley of vegetables that planted an impression - Fresh. Served with tortilla chips, most welcomed by a tortilla chips lover here. A light appetizer on tastebuds to start you off the meal to come. Se7enth is a #burpplebeyond partner where you can enjoy 1-for-1 mains/pastas/main or pasta + dessert set. Crispy Chicken Wings ($12/6 Pieces). A sweet beginning to the lovely evening, the crispy chicken wings is an appetizer not to be missed. What caught my eye initially was the thick batter that turned out to be really crispy with an extra crunchiness. But the real reason for falling in love with this was the mesmerizing truffle maple drizzle, especially as it drips while picking up the drumlet. Despite the mild truffle aroma, the sweet maple syrup in contrast to the juicy chicken was really endearing. For 1-for-1 Buffet (~save $60) Meat lovers, jot this one down! This meat-centric Buffet (from $42) housed in Park Hotel Alexandra serves up superb roasts in a comfy setting. While there isn't a wide variety, the salt-grilled Ana Paula Black Angus Ribeye and the succulent Spit-Roasted Chicken with Truffle are sure to satisfy. Also good is the Seafood Medley, comprising fresh prawns and squid in a tasty broth. Photo by Burppler SG Food On Foot

Beef (Dry-Aged, Slow Roasted) Finally had some time for a longer lunch, and decided to head to The Carvery to try the meat buffet. The beef and lamb was fabulous! They even had different types of sea salt that would go with the meats - charcoal, red lava sea salt, mixed spices sea salt. Personally, I liked the mixed spices sea salt the best - it went very well with the beef and gave it more texture and flavour. The service staff were prompt and alert to ensure my water was topped up; they took the time to speak with me - asking if I’ve tried their carving station and even explained how that they dry-aged their beef for approximately 2 weeks before they slow roast it, then roast it in their charcoal oven. In addition, they had 2 types of goat cheeses, which is rare for any restaurants or buffets. It may not be everyone’s top choice but I loved it So thumbs up on this! Their pork knuckle is usually for dinners; and on weekends, they would have 2 different types of beef available. This probably explains the difference in the buffet price. A buffet for the meat lovers!

They were not kidding when they said that their rotasserie chicken is their specialty. The meat was really tender and juicy, and didn't need any sauce to go with it. Rather than the variety, their quantity do shine for certain dishes such as their wood fire pizzas and bread pudding. Worth it if you get the 1 for 1 @chopesg voucher for about $50!
