Squid Ink Pasta, Wagyu Beef Burger, Grilled Pork Chop, Pan Seared Barramundi, French Apple Tart The rate of eating nice meals at home has clearly preceded penning them down- with no valid excuse other than laziness. But for Mother’s Day laziness cannot be an excuse; with Burpplebeyond and the knowledge that this is the sister cafe of South Union Park (SUP)- I decided to order from Eleven Strands. Via pickup we paid only $66 for 4 mains and 1 dessert #BurpplebeyondWINS. Everything was delicious but particularly good was the well executed squid ink pasta cleverly sautéed with garlic and other condiments, with of course the handmade tagliatelle (+$3), our default pasta choice at SUP. My picky nature found the pork chop and wagyu patty too lean or even dry but it does not bother me much because they are well handled; also all the supporting sides and sauces will cover any flaw. I mean how can I not love the homemade brioche bun (another of my favourite at SUP again). For dessert we got the Apple Tart which was actually Feuille de brick (think crepe but with a crisp pastry profile typically from being fried) wrapped with sautéed apples, different currants, croquant, almond flakes; and cold vanilla ice cream. What can go wrong? A paradoxically light yet rich dessert to end off a celebratory meal.

The Braised Lambshank And Prawn Pesto Pasta are the Best! The Braised Lambshank was succulent and tasty. It was served in a generous portion. The roasted vegetables and mash were really good as well. Love the sauce that accompanies it. For $25, it was so worth it. The Pesto Prawn pasta was also very good. It had a hint of truffle as well. The pasta was cooked al dante and the prawns were fresh. Ordered Sweet potatoes as a side. The portions are generous as well. Overall, very satisfied!!!

Thunder Tea Rice Or “Lei Cha” For Takeaway. Singaporean Chef Pang Kok Keong of @antoinette_sg and @hakkapang has an assortment of Hakka specialties for takeaway and delivery now. This Thunder Tea Rice or 擂茶饭 included. I have always been a fan of this healthy Hakka dish so it’s lovely to try Chef Pang’s version which features brown rice topped with more than just the usual. He also throws on unconventional ingredients such as crisp wing beans and soft-cooked kidney beans - the latter adds a hint of sweetness to the dish which works nicely. The fresh herb paste which is more flavourful then others I’ve had, is packed separately so you just have to pour in hot water before eating. At $7 per portion, I think this makes for a healthy, tasty and value-for-money meal. Ideal to send as a #mytreatsg to family or friends too. To order this (minimum order is 5 portions), or his other delicacies like Traditional Abacus Seeds (this is very good as well!), Hakka Mee Tai Mak, Leek Kueh, Yam Cake and Muah Chee, please Whatsapp: 9021 7507.

[Antoinette] - The seasonal Crispy Pork Belly ($28) is a favourite with pork belly cured and confit in duck fat for a day pressed to shape and fry over low heat to achieve the perfect tender consistency, well-rendered fats, and thin crisp skin. The dish is served with savoury cabbage braised in chicken stock, pomme puree, and an umami-laden mustard sauce made from Dijon and Pommery mustard for a hint of spice. . Grilled Iberico Pork Chop ($26++) This is one of Vineyard’s signature mains. Pork is very tender despite the size. Sauce (winner of the dish) is on the herby side which I like a lot - could be a bit salty but manageable. It’s served with roasted potato and veggies. Place is secluded and good for quiet dates with a nature view :)

Grilled Iberico Pork Chop ($26) 250g Bone in Pork Chop, Cajun Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Vegetables, Mustard Brown Sauce. Pork chop was nicely seasoned and well cooked. Every bite of the meat was flavourful and not too tough. Potatoes was mildly flavoured. Roasted vegetables consisted of carrots and zucchini. Carrots were crunchy and the zucchini was tender. Mustard Brown sauce tasted similar to black pepper sauce. Overall really like this dish and would recommend it. I also ordered the Crispy Battered Mushroom ($10) served with Garlic Aioli and Truffle Mushroom Alfedo Pasta ($20). The batter of the mushroom were crispy throughout and didn't turn soggy. Mushrooms were unseasoned, only giving off its natural umaminess. The aioli somehow tasted more like mayonnaise to me. Overall found this dish so-so. Pasta was Linguine Pasta cooked in Truffle Mushroom Cream Sauce with Medley Mushroom, Onsen Egg, Shaved Parmesan. Pasta was slightly on the harder side which I prefer. Mushroom was ok. Truffle was detectable. The dish gave me a home-y feel because of the rich, warm creamy sauce. However it became a little overwhelming at the end because of the creaminess. Overall I think it would be better to share this dish.

Duck Neck Sausage Casserole. This is so delicious, yet so comforting. It's definitely not your usual sausage, as the duck neck was first hollowed out before filling it with dry-aged duck breast and other ingredients, making it a savory, meaty, and funky with the aroma of foie gras. 🔸 The taste was surprisingly good, but it's from Pollen Restaurant after all. This is a beautiful restaurant serving artful European food at Gardens by the Bay, and they've just welcomed Chef Michael to helm the kitchen. 🔸 Besides this, I also had the Beef Wellington, where an Australian beef tenderloin with pink medium rare centre was encased in a buttery flaky pastry; a classic lasagne with smooth layers of pasta and satisfying ragu; and some whole cakes to complete an already outstanding meal. These comforting English classics is certainly more than enough to make up a dining in experience of their Chef’s Menu at $148++, sans the beautiful view from their restaurant.

The Confit Duck Leg Cassoulet Set Meal Is A Great Choice For Duck Lovers ($70, Serves 2 Pax). T R E A T Perhaps not quite as textbook photogenic but delivering tastiness in spades was the belly-warming Confit Duck Leg Cassoulet, the main course in the other Set Meal I received. Those who prefer blander flavours might find the duck meat a tad salty but I enjoyed every bit of it. The dessert in this case was a supremely elegant Valrhona Chocolate Tart. Bitter and dark, it exuded a sophisticated “adult” vibe which made it all the more desirable. Visit the link in @pollenrestaurantsg’s Instagram bio if you wish to view their takeaway menu or to place an order. FYI - they have a promotion of a complimentary bottle of wine (worth $66) with a minimum spend of $128 that sounds like a fab deal.

The Beef Wellington Set Meal Is Fabulous ($108, Serves 2 To 3 Pax). T R E A T A surprise delivery came my way last evening from Executive @chefwilsonsingapore and his team at Pollen Restaurant. Just in time for dinner too. My curiousity about Chef Wilson’s food had been piqued back in February when I read about him joining Pollen. After all, he was instrumental in securing a Michelin Star for the last restaurant he headed - the PHÉNIX and The Puli Hotel and Spa in Shanghai. Although my plans to dine at Pollen has had to be put on hold, I am grateful for the opportunity to try a couple of the Set Meals in the new Takeaway menu Chef Wilson has developed. Without a doubt, the dish that floored us all last night was the Beef Wellington. What a magnificent construct of buttery puff pastry, tender, juicy Australian tenderloin and mushroom duxelle. The accompanying Russet potato puree and pink peppercorn sauce only enhanced the deliciousness of the spectacular pie (by the way, detailed heating instructions are attached, so no worries if you plan on consuming the food later). Included in the Beef Wellington Set Meal ($108, serves 2 or even 3) was a large Lemon Meringue Tart (14cm in diameter). This zesty and luscious number sure hit the spot after that rich main.

; Tartine D’Os À Moëlle When the bone marrow takes up the entire space on that thick cut toasted Sourdough, you know you’re in for a treat. Dive into it and be sure to also get that nugget of garlic confit for more umami flavour bombs. Served with a well tossed salad to cleanse your palate for the next course. 19bucks/serve #FTrecommends

Valentine Day Experience A beautiful venue that takes you back to the streets of Paris... here you can expect a high level service, and our expectations were high for this special occasion. The venue had a special Valentine 3-course menu priced at $118++ per person that gave you a selection of one for each course. For appetizers, the winner was the Salmon tartare (pictured), as it was well seasoned and generous. We would have ordered the oysters if we were fans (as most other diners did), but decided to try the duck liver dish which was decently good. For main course, we felt that the Salted Cod Loin was on point and our favourite dish of the night, as we had that "eye rolling" effect on many occasions. The same thing can be said for our other main course when we dipped the Ribeye steak served with fries in the awesome Béarnaise sauce. By that point we were too stuffed and weren't exactly blown away by the desserts as a result. We tried the Crepe Suzette that was flambé on our table which was the best part, and the berry pavlova was nice but slightly too sweet. Overall we left feeling satisfied with the quality of the food but definitely felt that it was pricey for sure. One to consider if you would like to give yourself a treat.

; Seafood Vol-Au-Vent All eyes on this handsome housemade flakey puff pastry that's barely able to contain those succulent scallops, lobsters and other fruits of the sea. As if that weren't mouthwatering enough, they are doused in a luxurious bath of seafood-jus bechamel. (Inner goddess doing a celebratory dance; just take ma monehhh) Definitely the one place I'm returning to for French classics executed to a tee. 38bucks/serve #FTrecommends
