Who Can Say No To This? These bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms were deep fried ⁣till a crispy golden brown and served piping hot. While tasty, I felt it was a tad dry, so do pair it with the sauce for a more hearty flavour and experience. 😋

Value For Money Reasonably priced at $1.80 for majority of the plates, there’s an assortment of ingredients you can choose from for easy sharing. While there’s nothing much to shout about for their marination of the meat, because there are better ones out there that are way more flavourful, I do think the pricing is value for money and worth giving a try if you are looking for a simple dinner nearby. ⁣

🇸🇬 Reunited with Mookata! 🙌🏻 First 2017 meal in Singapore was an excellent feast. Extremely caught off my surprise by my 2 bestest auntie friends last evening at the airport! 💕Thank you so much both of you! Finally a reunion after half a year! Didn't expect them to pick me up at all because we kind of had a scheming plan for a birthday surprise that night. Turned out to be a double wonder & I still can't believe how @deborahwjy can handle being the double spy when I can't even lie at all (almost ruined the plan couple of times & she almost fainted hahaha) 🙈 But the birthday girl was just as weird because I exposed myself & she didn't understand so .. well phew. . Anyway wishing the happiest birthday (just treat the whole weekend as birthday lah) again to my dear foodie buddy @cake.cass! Thank you so much for spending your birthday evening at the airport 😭 Still find this friendship so hilarious because it's like I just picked these human I've met 2 years back & went "hmm, I like this one .. oh & this one" & I just decided to do stuff with them. Looking back I think I've really made an awesome decision back then (swear you girls are the weirdest people I know but I like weird people) 😂

Should Have Take Photos Before Devouring The Food 2 pax Total cost: $60 Ordered one Mookata set, one somtum poo pala (aka fermented fish and crab papaya salad, thai milk tea and, oolong tea. Set came assortment of pork meat, chicken meat, squid, prawns, sausage, imitation crab, eggs, tanghoon, and an assortment of vegetables. Papaya salad was mediocre, not packed with flavour as it should have been. Crab was tasteless. Would not order again. Milk tea is normal. I heard you can order an xxl size. Oolong tea is from the can. Nuff said. Dipping sauce... guys dipping sauce here is heavenly.. perfectly sweet and savoury enough to compliment the meat. 10/10 would drown myself in it. Overall experience? Environment is suitable for low key outings with close friends as it is rather warm. Food wise,a set is enough for 2 person. We were stuffed by the end of the meal. This place is good enough for a visit again although it is on the pricer side.

New Udon Platter ($45) Plenty of mookata buffets in Golden Mile Complex but New Udon Thai Food is consistently crowded. Featuring a giant platter of prawns, marinated pork and chicken, sausages, squid assorted veg and glass noodles, this was a pretty generous serving just about right for two. They’ve also got their own thick chilli sauce made in-house that reminds me of a slightly funky gochujang.

Simply Love Their Mokata. Fresh Ingredients The Chilli Sauce Are Homemade. They have pork set that comes with marinated pork / pork liver / hotdogs / fish balls / crab sticks / prawns / cuttlefish and lots of vegetables. It’s value for money and their Thai milk tea is yummy as well, large cup is only $5 It’s my favourite place fo mokata. No where else.

For Thai-style Hotpot and Dishes Drop by this joint in Bedok North when you're in the mood to sweat it out with your mates over a scrumptious and spicy dinner spread. Order their delectable Kaeng Som Cha Om ($18) for omelette dunked in an appetizing sour broth that's great for mixing in with vegetables. Complete the spread with the silky Cold Tofu with Thai Seafood Sauce ($16), Spicy Wings with Deep Fried Lemongrass ($10) and Deep Fried Pork Collar ($12). Photo by Burppler Justin Teo

Spread at Spicy Thai Thai Since 8 years ago when this Thai restaurant started, they've been making Thai food the authentic - using charcoal for soup and steamed dishes to maintain heat consistency and quality; importing tea leaves from Thailand for the signature Thai Iced Tea; making in house different dressings for different dishes; making desserts from scratch. 🔸 Bring Northeastern Thai, their flavours are heavier and spicier. These are the dishes pictured: ▫️Kaeng Som Cha Om ($18) ▫️Stir-Fry Fish Maw with Crab Meat ($20) ▫️Cold Tofu with Thai Seafood Sauce ($16) ▫️Spicy Wings with Deep Fried Lemongrass ($10) ▫️Deep Fried Pork Collar ($12) ▫️Thai Sambal Sea Bass (seasonal price) ▫️Stir-Fry Cabbage with Thai Fish Sauce ($10) 📍 Taken during a tasting at Blk 115 Aljunied Avenue 2 Unit 01-35 Singapore 380115 📞 6747 8558 ⏱️ 11am to 12am daily.

Cheap Mookata If you're used to being ripped off at Golden mile (me), then Siam Square mookata is dirt cheap in comparison. Plates start from $1.80 with seafood going at around $3-4 per plate. Buffet also available at $29 per pax. No GST or service charge. Chili is self serve and arranged according to spiciness. Spent $30.50 for 2 adults and 1 child. #BurppleMajulahMakan

For No-Frills Mookata With a well-curated selection of the usual staples at $1.80 per item/plate (meats included!), and slightly pricier items such as scallops, oysters and smoked duck at $2.80 per item/plate, join the throng of voracious supper seekers feasting at Siam Kitchen. Big eaters can opt for the buffet option ($29 per person) instead and throw any notions of self-restraint out of the window. Even though it’s located in a hawker centre, service is surprisingly forthcoming and efficient. They make their own chilli sauces but they don’t use charcoal — a small compromise considering the price. Siam Square Mookata currently has seven outlets, a true testament to their popularity.

For Affordable Mookata in Geylang Unlike other coffeeshops where mookata is the only offering in the night, Golden Mookata shares the spotlight with a couple of other stalls (get the affordable beer tower from the drinks stall!). This makes it good for big group dinners where not everyone wants to have grilled meats. That said, almost every table inadvertently orders it thanks to its affordability and tasty ingredients. Share an appetiser of Crispy Golden Thai Pork Belly ($15) — freshly fried slices of fatty pork belly that Burppler Shaowei Ho loves to dunk in the spicy sauce! For the mookata, the Special Set for Two ($22) that comes with chicken, pork, seafood and vegetables is a good start. Then, add on Baby Bamboo Clams ($5), Taiwan Sausages ($2.50) and the Special Golden Bak Kwa ($4) for the ultimate indulgence! Avg Price: $30 per person Photo by Burppler Shaowei Ho

Mookata-ing in a coffeeshop Having been abroad for almost the last decade, this was my first mookata experience (or at least the only one I can recall), and I'm pretty sure it's not going to be my last. Golden Mookata is located in a corner coffee shop and serves up yummy cuts of meat, seafood and even "bak kwa" for you to grill at affordable prices! We ordered the "Special Set for 2" ($22) which included garlic chicken thighs, marinated chicken thighs and pork belly, black tiger prawns, mussels and a whole bunch of sides with vegetables. Don't forget to order the "Special Golden Bak Kwa" ($4) that will make your broth slightly sweet and oh-so flavorful, and the "Crispy Golden Thai Pork Belly" ($15) to enjoy as you wait for your items to cook!

Crispy Golden Thai Pork Belly It's almost impossible to resist ordering this when the menu puts "most popular", "crispy" and "pork belly" all for just one item. Also since it's cooked already, it's a pretty good thing to have so you can snack on as your mookata items get cooked. For $15, I felt it was slightly towards the pricey side. But once you have taken a piece, dunk it into that spicy sauce and start that party in your mouth... it's all worth it!
