[📍 Porta - Revisit] Made a revisit to Porta for their 3course meal again. Ordered: Appetisers 1. Spanish octopus❤ -The octopus was perfectly cooked - Chewy yet tender. This was my mum's favourite dish of the day and she even commented that it was the best cooked octopus she had ever eaten. Yeaps so highly recommend this dish!! The baby potatoes (patatas bravas) that comes along was also very delicious. The exterior was crispy while the interior was creamy like mash potato. 2. Prawn and avocado - The guacamole was very well-seasoned and complemented well with the corn chips. It didnt feel overly jelat or clogging. I really love the romesco sauce as it brings an additional spice flavour to the whole dish. Mains 1. Iberico pork chop - Read a lot of reviews about how amazing this pork chop is. To be honest, it was good and tender but not mindblowing or impressively fantastic. The creamy tangy mash sauce can be a little too clogging after some time. Had better and more well-marinated pork chop elsewhere before but i must say that i am glad that the meat is tender and had good fat-to-meat ratio. 2. Pan-seared salmon with pumpkin sauce - The salmon was a little too dry and overcooked. Probably might be due to the fact that i ordered well done. Could probably have the doness to be medium so that it will be more moist and tender. I was impressed by the pumpkin sauce and felt that it really complemented well with the salmon. Love the subtle natural sweetness of the pumpkin puree. Desserts 1. Deconstructed black forest - The chocolate lava cake was on the sweeter side despite being dark chocolate. Was really impressed by the maraschino cherry's subtle acohol taste😊 2. Deconstructed tiramisu❤ - Ordered this dessert again because i really love their choco/coffee cake (perfect level of sweetness) as it was aromatic and had subtle gao bitter undertone. Really complemented well with the icecream and coffee jelly. Worth it: 3.5/5 (Good ambience, quality as well as service. Plus the food was really above average... with the burpple beyond 1 for 1 it will BE 100% worth it) Taste: 4/5 (Hits and misses but the standard is really above average) Overall: 8/10 #burpple #portasg

Great appetisers! (Octupus and salmon) Enjoyed a 3 course meal at half the price with Burpple Beyond. We were particularly impressed with the appetisers (the octupus and the salmon). As for mains, the rib eye steak was great and nicely cooked. The pork was flavourful but too tough. The desserts were too overwhelming in our opinion (tiramisu went a tad too hard on the coffee, key lime meringue was a bit too sour). That said, it was good that we had a nice mix of flavours. Service was also excellent! Worth a try with Burpple Beyond.
Exceed Expectation Service and food are both amazing. The one for one deal is such a steal for such fine food. My husband and i both ordered the squid as appetizer having seen the many ravings about it. It was as many claimed here. Really good!! I ordered the prawns pasta and my husband had the pork. He wolved it down super fast proving how much he liked it. The blackforest cake is a must order! Apple tart was fine. We prefer the black forest cake.

4⭐ We had 2 dozen of $1.99 oyster. There's a choice of NZ or US oyster, the US oyster is more meaty & creamy 👍🏼. First time drinking Hite beer and I understand why Korean like to drink this beer so much, it's much lighter than Heineken/ Carlsberg. #OysterCo #Burpple #Oyster
Happy Hour Til 8PM Red & white wines are served by the glass at $12+ each. Got a Croix Du Marquis Sauvignon Blanc & Pierre Jean Chardonnay for $9+ during happy hour, which is until 8:00PM. Not too sure why the former was served at room temperature, though. 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats only 🖥 Accepts reservations - I used Chope 🙋🏻‍♀️ Service charge applicable 🚫 No GST
Nicely Novel This Pure Musang King durian whiskey ($10++) has been making its rounds on social media - with several articles & hardcore whiskey fans/critics calling it BS. You can Google these articles & read up, I'm not going to delve into the science of whiskeys. I'm not a purist, nor am I the least bit scientific in my reviews. Nothing wrong with either of that, obviously - it's just not me. I just know what I enjoy, & what I don't. I did do my homework & read up some; 2 things jumped out at me: The addition of sugar, & the low ABV of 18%. Both of these were apparent to me when I took my first sip. It doesn't have the shiok burn (for lack of a better word) that I enjoy in a whiskey, & it is very sweet to me. The durian scent & taste, which is probably the main selling point of it, is strong & quite tasty. I was happy that even on the rocks, I got what I asked for. Admittedly, this is quite novel. & it worked for me. Did I enjoy it? Yes. But it could never, in any way, replace my favourite whiskey. Would I order it again? I doubt it. Do you drink novel things more than once, anyway?
