Fantastically grilled seabass Some of you like your seabass nicely cooked skin-down, delicately plated with creamy sauces and quenelles of whatevs; some like it gently steamed with aromatics and soy sauce; but when I think of a good seabass, @camp_kilo鈥檚 beautifully grilled one is what comes to mind. Armed with the basic salt and pepper, wedges of lime, and an insane mastery over fire, Camp Kilo鈥檚 no-fuss take means you really get to taste that lovely sweet, fresh fish. There鈥檙e no fancy sauces to detract you from the fish (they do have a few fantastic housemade sauces on the side if you really want em), which means they鈥檝e got no way to hide any mistakes like bad produce or overcooked fish. That I get perfectly succulent, moist and tender fish every time speaks tons.

Camp Kilo An outdoor restaurant concept that soak you with the camping lifestyle experience with all the roasted food and of course beer pong. It is better to go with a large clique (6pax and above) for it's full rack of roasted pork ribs ($30) 馃檶馃徎 Also, the sambal stingray is so good to die for! It is 500g and cost only $25.00 and it's the thick type, so different from any place like chomp chomp. Really worth going and soak into the chillax ambience 馃槍 Avg per pax: $20

Naughty Pork & Bean Unique dishes served in Kilo, surrounded with rustic environment and a good view. The dishes we decided to order was the <Naughty Pork & Bean ($28)>. It was a dish that consisted of roasted pork, which was fantastically done, where the pork meat slowly melts in your mouth without you chewing too much, tom yum beans, kale chips and chorizo and poached egg. This dish was fantastic, the mixture of the meat, and the sauce of the beans created a rainbow of flavour in your mouth, really enjoyed the unique concept of their dishes, will definitely be back to try their other dishes.

Hainanese Ngoh Hiang ($10 nett) To start, we shared a plate of Hainanese Ngoh Hiang which turned out to be superb. Freshly fried, the rolls of crisped soya beancurd skin were filled with a fresh-tasting, well-seasoned mix of minced pork and chopped waterchestnuts. I loved these especially, smeared with the accompanying sambal belachan.

Classic Hainanese Pork Chop ($14.90 Nett) BritishHainan鈥檚 menu is old-school all the way but every dish is prepared with unmistakable pride, so you can see and taste the quality. Take this dish for example. The breaded and fried meat was pristinely executed and not oily at all, while the tomato sauce poured over it was nicely balanced in flavour. Portion was also much bigger than expected. You can opt to have the fries switched to rice if you prefer.

Very Generous Portion Of Grilled Chicken Chop ($14.90 nett) Dinner with my parents tonight was a nostalgic affair as we visited the second outlet of British Hainan. Located at 158 Kallang Way on the ground floor unit of an industrial building, its cavernous space was infinitely more comfortable than the much smaller original outlet (although there are those who love the cosy feel of it). My choice of main was the Grilled Chicken Chop and it was surprisingly large. Drizzled over the smoky piece of boneless thigh meat was an appetising albeit sweetish housemade apricot sauce. I personally prefer this over their signature Hainanese Pork Chop ($14.90 nett) but my mum enjoyed her order of that.

We had an enjoyable dinner at Al Capones Kallang Wave. The food was delicious and price are reasonable; An ideal place for you to wind down after work. Al' Capones Roast Chicken (Whole @$30.90, half @$15.90); Locked and loaded with 9 special herbs before it's baked to perfection at 400 degrees to give a golden brown crust which is smeared with lime citrus that adds an unique zest to your bite. It comes with 4 different sauces (L'orange, Mushroom Chardonnay, Brown and Black Pepper) that you can dip your meat into. Al' Capones Pizza ($14.80); Hand stretched pizza with generous turkey pepperoni splashed over mozzarella cheese. Mafia Wings ($10.90); The chicken wings were marinated with 6 types of herbs for 48hrs and then deep fried at 400 degrees. This is my personal favourite and is absolutely a steal at $10.90. Lamb Shank ($18.90); Shank of lamb slow cooked overnight with the gravy that was simmered with fresh mix of rosemary, garlic, tomatoes and red wine. Thanks to @kallangwavemall @alcaponesg for having us and @singaporefoodlisting for the invitation.
