Thin Crust Pizza 🍕 Nice place with freshly made pizza. Hula Hawaiian Pizza [$21], unlike your typical haiwaiian pizza, came with bacon pieces instead of ham. The pineapples were juicy and sweet too! Truffle Fries [$12] tasted more of like parmesan cheese fries with only hints of truffle oil flavour. I'd recommend the Really Cheesy Pizza [$20] to all cheese lovers out there!

GLY Pizza & Sashimi Pizza Yet another participating restaurant of Burpple Beyond that specialised in pizzas, DePizza was situated just between a burger joint and a boutique gym, so they sort of made sure that you climb a flight of stairs and dine with some background thumping noise during your meal. But it was quite exciting to come in because they had a few special pizzas that were kind of special. The GLY Pizza (front, S$23.00), was a creation incorporating “Zi Char” favourite Sweet & Sour Pork, so they had a sweet sour sauce base with countable chunks of pork, pineapples, capsicum and onion. Unfortunately, the letdown was actually that the miserably little pieces of meat were also dry and tough, so at some point I did wish the meat were not there at all. On the other hand, the Sashimi Pizza (S$27.00) was slightly more promising, though there was also a not very friendly smell coming from the salmon, which disappeared quickly after consuming it with their mayonnaise base and seaweed flakes. Plus, the thin crispy crust made it feel like I was eating a gigantic salmon tapas, which made me wonder if decorating the pizza with some Mentaiko sauce could bring out more of the Japanese essence to the Italian fare. But one note of caution to Burpple Beyond users: the staff still charged me for the service charge for the “lower price” pizza, unlike most of the other restaurants which would waive off the service charge and GST for the second item, just in case if you would be calculative on that. #BurppleBeyond

Takoyaki Pizza ($26) If you like takoyaki you will like this pizza. The mayo takoyaki base was fabulous. Octopus and squid pcs were small but scattered generously around the pizza. Very chewy and fresh. So delicious that I didn’t notice the bacon, which I usually don’t touch. I liked the thin crust which was crispy on the edges but chewy and juicy in the middle. Don’t bother with utensils. Just rip out a slice, roll it up and devour.

Hazelnut Beer? What Are You, Nuts? I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a little disappointed that this pint of Rogue Ales' Hazelnut Brown Nectar tasted nothing like Nutella. But I'd also be lying if I said that I didn't enjoy it. It's a beautiful brown ale with a punchy 6.2% ABV, and the taste is quite unlike anything ever seen before in the (inebriated) history of craft beers. It's smelt strongly but pleasantly of hazelnuts and caramel right off the bat, and the taste closely follow the nose. It was rich and jam packed full of hazelnut flavors, followed by a dash of cashew and just a smidgen of sweetness. The ending was as smooth as the beginning, and halfway through the pint it tasted and had a mouthfeel much like coffee. I say, this is one very interesting pint of beer, and paired up with the chilled out ambience and swift service at Draft & Craft, I'm definitely going back for seconds. And thirds. #BurppleCraftBeer

If This Is The Prairie Standard... I can see why farmhands are reputed to be such heavy drinkers. This pint of Prairie Standard is a pure, palatable pint that's guaranteed to refresh your weary soul after a hard day of labor. It's slightly sweet without the threat of being too cloying, and it tastes strongly of citrus fruits and some spices I can't quite separate, with mild hoppy notes and a vaguely herbal taste. It was relatively carbonated with a nice dry body and an appropriately dry finish. Draft & Craft could quite easily become my new go to place for obscure craft beers on draft. Besides just having great craft on draft, it's got a nice, chill vibe going, and even though they do charge for service, they make it worthwhile with their attentive and friendly service. Grab a couple of fellow alcoholics, grab a pint and a huge bowl of any of their fries (gotta make $10 worth it somehow, right), and you've got yourself the good life. #BurppleCraftBeer

For Laidback Drinks (and Beer Pong!) in Boat Quay Amidst the party bars of Boat Quay comes this surprising find — a super laidback drinking spot along Circular Road. They even have a beer pong table set up on Fridays and Saturdays! Drinks wise, they have both bottled beers as well as a rotation of beers on tap — we tried the Thai Black Tea Pale Ale ($10) that they had that night, and loved how it was very flavourful yet light, and a cheap and great option for the rest of the night. We also like Dead Guy Ale ($16) and yummy cider La Chouette ($15), easily the most apple-y, satisfying bottled cider we've had. This is a perfect place for chilled out Friday night drinking with friends, but as the food here leaves much to be desired, we highly suggest you have your dinner elsewhere first.
