Halloumi & eggs [$15] New on the brunch menu, this vegetarian dish comprises of two eggs of your style (scrambled, onsen, sunny side up or over easy), served with fried kale chips, roasted mushrooms, mini crossaint, pomme noisettes, grilled tomato and the main highlight- grilled halloumi. In case you are wondering, halloumi is actually an unripened brined cheese made form a mixture of goat and sheep's milk. Every element in this kaleidoscopic brunch platter was a satisfaction to my palate (apart from the tomatoes of course 馃槄). The grilled halloumi had a slightly crisp chargrilled exterior with a firm, rubbery interior and a piquant flavour that's rather similar to a thick feta cheese. Moving on, the scrambled eggs were done to perfection- creamy and smooth, silky texture with a milky, eggy fragrance! 馃挅 The fried kale chips were crisp and seaweed-like, adding a tinge of saltiness to the platter and was surprisingly additive and great 馃憤馃徎 The mini crossaint was toasted to a crisp, flaky exterior coupled with a pillowy interior that withheld a lingering buttery fragrance. In addition, the roasted mini portobellos were well saut茅ed with a distinctive earthy note coupled with a chewy, juicy texture. Lastly, the pomme noisettes (deep fried potatoes) were crisp with a soft, creamy mash interior that was also an addiction - wish there was more of it! 馃構 A fulfilling and satisfying brunch that was worth every $ spent and every calorie intake, coupled with a welcoming, friendly service from the crews here that made my trip worthwhile鈽猴笍 . . . . #burpple #smitteneats #smittenchoice

Hot Houjicha latte [$6] Using roasted green tea from Japan, the Houjicha latte here surprisingly exceeded my expectations! Usually not one that would order drinks at cafes (as I personally find it not worth), I was glad I did here - though it was for the sake of the latte art initially 馃樄. The characteristic roasted flavour was surprisingly distinct, with a lingering roasted aroma coupled with a pleasant earthy note. Though not the best Houjicha latte - with my personal favourite still from Matchaya, this was not too bad for a cafe beverage (that does not specialize in teas). . . . #burpple

Watery Milkshake The first and last time I will order their strawberry milkshake. Very slight hint of strawberry. To be honest, it tasted like strawberry pur茅e mixed with water. After feedback to a server (with a smile!), the manager kindly offered another drink FOC, which I declined cos I was leaving soon. Top marks for customer service.

Decent weather for some alfresco dining at Seletar Aerospace. . But I would probably pass on these pasta next round as they didn't left an impression. . Saving grace to the cheesy curly fries which wouldn't go wrong.

Pandan waffle w butterfly pea flower coconut soft serve ($14) 馃尡馃尭 猸愶笍 4.5/5 猸愶笍 馃嵈A unique waffle that not only looked good but tasted delicious. The waffle was ultra crispy and had strong pandan flavour. The soft serve was ultra special with a hint of flower taste. We chose Nutella sauce and while it seems like an odd combi, all the components came together perfectly. We loved the mix of pandan, flower, coconut, nuts and chocolate 馃搷Wildseed cafe, @thesummerhousesg, 3 Park Lane, S798387

Celebrating Friday Eve with chocolate croissants and lovely ambience! Hits and misses for Wildseed鈥檚 menu, I found their Chocolate Croissants off their array of daily bakes were pretty spot on. Though a little sweet from the rich glaze, the pastry was lightly flaky and buttery. And taking in the charming countryside allure of the space, it is a great place to catch up with friends and family over the weekend!

More Meat Monday for Me Having heard many mixed reviews about The Betterfield, I was pleased with my medium rare steak - The Riverine ($20) off their Better Brunch Menu. Decent though not mind-blowing the cut was moist, lovely pink hue on the inside and crusty on the outside. However, it did lacked that oomph factor with the flavours.

The Better Food The duck fat potatoes is every good as it looks, it scores TOP marks on presentation with crispy shreds of duck meat doused with golden nacho cheese. Not a fan of duck? No problem, the Betterfield is famous for its Wagyu beef which melts in your mouth and goes perfectly with the truffle mayo that it is paired with. A sprinkle of rock salt caps it off for a truly well prepared dish (cue #SaltBae).

Small Portion, Okay Flavour Mentaiko Superior Japanese Scallops Pasta ($25+) Portion was small, I was still hungry after this. But it was tasty & the scallops were fresh. The mentaiko sauce is salty BUT I say this only if you're licking the plate at the end (oops I just baotoh-ed myself). Mixed with the pasta, it's not crazy salty. I love pasta, but the steak was a lot more satisfactory than the pasta, so that's what I'd recommend instead. 馃挸 Accepts credit cards 馃尙 Air-conditioned seats available 馃摱 WiFi available 馃捇 Accepts reservations - I used Chope 馃毇 No GST

High Quality Steak, Affordable Prices BRONZE Steak (Black Angus or Canterbury): 200g @ $22 300g @ $32 400g @ $40 Asked for medium rare, came out BEAUTIFUL. This is the 200g portion. Great texture, amazing flavour, & the slightly tangy sauce made it perfect. I don't care much for the salad, it was alright I guess. (Give me meat any day!!) The last time I went to Betterfield, they were still at Waterloo Street. I don't remember the steak tasting so delicious, i.e. this is a marked improvement - hooray! 馃挸 Accepts credit cards 馃尙 Air-conditioned seats available 馃摱 WiFi available 馃捇 Accepts reservations - I used Chope 馃毇 No GST

Red velvet waffle ($14.50) 馃崷 猸愶笍 4.5/5 猸愶笍 馃嵈Still one of my favourite waffles. The red velvet waffles are crispy while retaining its fluffiness. They have a distinct red velvet taste that pairs well with the strawberry cheesecake ice cream & cream cheese sauce. Unlike most places that give only 1 scoop, I appreciate the two big scoops of ice cream that allow for generous servings of cold creamy ice cream with warm crispy waffle [email protected], Pomo Mall #02-25, 1 Selegie Rd, S188306 (near Dhoby Ghuat Mrt)

Crab Meat Aglio Olio by Montana Singapore Big pieces of crab meat with well textured pasta. I love how there are some crab brooth at the bottom that adds flavour to the aglio olio. Slightly overpriced for the portion but the taste is great. I came here because there's the 1-FOR-1 deal, or else I would not pay $20.80++ for such a small portion.

Tender Beef Cheeks Braised Beef Cheek with Carrot Kimchi ($20.80+) I didn't care much for the carrot kimchi, it's nothing special to me. The beef cheeks were perfectly tender & delicious. Comes with two slices of toast that you can dunk into the sauce to slurp it all up. Customizable, But..... Big Breakfast ($18.00+) I enquired if I could swap the bacon out for something else (since I don't eat bacon), & they were kind enough to accommodate-- swap it out for an extra scrambled egg. This would've been wonderful if not for the fact that they forgot about my special order, served it with bacon, & I had to wait 15 minutes for a new platter to be cooked. All turned out well, though, & I didn't mind because my dining partner & I could tuck into the Braised Beef Cheek together since it was served first (sharing is caring). I appreciate the flexibility to swap ingredients out. The sausage was sizeable, not the pathetic lame hotdogs that some places serve. The default Miso ginger mushrooms were quite weird, so go for the other option (sauteed mushrooms with salt & pepper) if possible. Arugula salad was fresh & the vinaigrette had a good balance of sweetness with the acidity & tangyness of the vinegar. 馃挸 Accepts credit cards 馃尙 Air-conditioned seats only 馃捇 Accepts reservations - I used Eatigo (20% off!) 馃毇 No GST

Gyuniku Don ($12) Look at dat generous heap of beef tho. The onsen egg was runny which helped the don taste less dry, since it did not come with miso soup.

Mentaiko Salmon Don ($13) This place used to be called Takumi by Sushiro. It is now rebranded and known as Ryori by Sushiro. They only serve cooked dons here. If you're looking for bara chirashi don, head the the actual Sushiro outlet. Seating is very limited, but that's ok cos at dinner time the restaurant (or should I say food stall?) isn't even half filled. You order and pay via a touchscreen cashier and food is promptly served. No accompanying miso soup, just whatever don you ordered.

Spicy Yakiniku 16 Well this was pretty worth it considering the heap of beef covering the rice. Get the spicy one because it saves you the trouble of adding shichimi urself lol. Other than that beef was incredibly juicy and the spicy seasoning enhanced the beefiness so the m3at was definitely spectacular. Not to mention the beef fats that drips into the rice. Even my friend who doesnt eat beef thoroughly enjoyed the beef fat and sauce coated rice cos it's so beefily fragrant

Tokyo Gyudon 12 Now i understand why it's so highly raved. Damn. To me this is the perfect bowl because i just love overflowing gravy. The perfectly done onsen egg mixes with the seaweed hidden underneath to turn the rice into an umami bomb before u even add the beef in. And that glorious beef. Thinly sliced, generous and so incredibly soft. Combine that with the gravy soaked rice and you've got a comforting slurp-worthy bowl which i polished off in under 2 minutes. No im not a glutton that's how good it is

Bara Chirashi Don Tried the cheapest Bara Chirashi Don in Singapore 鉁旓笍 It's definitely worth it (just look at those fat chunks of sashimi 馃構) but I'd enjoy it more if there are no hints of wasabi at all. So I'm planning to come back and enjoy it without the overpowering wasabi taste 馃檪 馃挷: $12.80

Barachirashi ($12.90) Sushiro has always been my go-to for a quick fix of chirashi at a low cost! The portion is really worth it for just $12.90. But the best part of the barachirashi is truly the sauce that they marinade the fish in, it's sweet and just right to bring out the freshness of the fish.

Chirashi Don It isn't unfair to say that sashimi bowl lovers would know of this one - Sushiro's $12.90 Chirashi. Salmon, tuna, ikura (salmon roe), amaebi (prawn), hotate (scallop) and octopus on a bed of sushi rice. The ratio of fish chunks to rice is 1:1. Unwilling to say because it is already so hyped, but yes, no wonder the queue. 馃挮 Slow on the bandwagon, but glad I tried - even if in a takeaway bowl, because we didn't have all day to join the queue of 10 people at weekend lunch. Fun fact: you can try your luck queueing for the bowl at it's sister shop at the same level opp the food court, but chances are, both will have snaking lines. xD Just get the takeaway bowl otherwise.

Shu Choux @ $4.30 each Flavours available: Vanilla, Black sesame, Matcha, Earl Grey (Special comeback), Raspberry rose (flavour of the month of July). Had been wanting to try the choux from Koki for a while and it's my first time today! Bought the earl grey and raspberry rose cos they are special flavours. The earl grey tasted light and refreshing - my mum immediately asked for a cup of tea to complement it! The earl grey flavour fills through your nose and lingers in your mouth. Definitely a must try - no wonder this is a special comeback. When I first bit into the raspberry rose choux, my eyes lit up as the flavour was really distinct with a strong rose smell. Sweetness was just right. The raspberry custard had a sweet touch to the tongue and the rose flavour came through the nose and left an aftertaste. This flavour is July's special flavour - MUST DEFINITELY TRY!

Earl grey cream puff [$4.30] Finally earl grey has made its comeback at @koki.tamagoyaki , available for a limited time till end July! 鉁 Being an avid fan of earl grey, I immediately laid my hands on it before these gets off the shelves! The fillings were indeed generous - warning: do be prepared to get ur hands and mouth messy and full of cream if you are consuming it with bare hands! 馃挜 The choux puff came with a slightly crisp caramelised surface layer that had a soft and doughy interior, stuffed generously with earl grey cream filling. The earl grey flavoured cream was smooth, creamy with a distinctive, lingering aroma that was pleasant and enjoyable! 馃挅 Though I do wish the earl grey flavour was more intense, it was distinctive enough for both the sense and scent! 馃構 A puff here is also pretty huge that's great for sharing among 2 or more pax! . . . #burpple #smitteneats #smittenchoice

Raspberry & Rose Flavor Choux puff, the outer skin is no longer crispy but the cream was really good. I can taste a little tinge of raspberry with the rose aroma, not over-powering artificial taste (S$4.30). Spot the shimmering rose gold powder.

I like how the cream filling is smooth in texture and rich in sesame fragrance. . But it could have been perfected if the choux puff has that light crisp upon every bite. . Dessert lovers would be glad to know that the same ingredient goes into making Sesame Cake from @dear.nesuto.
