This rendition of the hearty Nyonya dish comes with sweeter flavours, but the same tender chicken and potatoes it’s so loved for. Sauce is great ladled over rice, if you fancy sweet, soy flavours. I personally needed that spunky sambal to jazz things up a little.

For RM10, this complete lunch meal (with a drink of Barley or Pandan Green Tea) was superb value for money! The brinjal cooked in a briny minced meat sauce is excellent with white rice, although I would’ve liked it even better if it was cooked just a tad softer. Slather some of that sambal chilli oil on for a kick!

I’m a sucker for anything eggplant. This was part of Sedapnya’s set lunch which came at an affordable RM10, with a drink on the side too. The eggplant was nice and salty and minced meat was a nice addition to the dish. That sambal tho, fiery so be careful!

Sedapnya is a Nyonya restaurant that opened quite some time ago at the Starling Mall in @damansarauptown . What I particularly liked at this restaurant was the generous portions and amazing presentation of the food which matches the higher-than-usual prices. Their food also tastes authentically like Nyonya and local food which is very nostalgic. The Mee Siam which I was richly infused with Thai herbs, spices and chillis. The curry also had a tangy flavour which was very appetising. The ABC and Chendol were huge and delicious and they were quite a good deal compared to other kopitiam-style restaurants that would charge more than RM10 for their ABC and give you a paltry portion. Service was fast as well and the ambience was lovely(I mean look at the batik tablecloth 😍). I would rate this a 8/10 and I would definitely come here again another time.
