I wanted to see if Seirinkan does pasta as well as they do pizza so I ordered what seemed to be a popular dish at many of the tables around us. It was a good if otherwise unremarkable plate of linguine with fresh clams, let down by a slightly weak sauce which could have done with with stronger shellfish and white wine notes.

A little smear of tomato sauce then a plastering of mozzarella with basil leaves atop the fluffy, singed crust is all it takes to make some of the finest pizza you'll taste. Seirinkan applies the Japanese approach of minimalism to the 2 pizzas on their menu for a deceivingly simple yet umami-packed pie that had me re-evaluating the overladen monstrosities I usually order back home.
