Steamed Kaya Toast + Kopi O Kosong; Coffee black without sugar ($2.60)
- Very fluffy steamed bread
- Good layer of kaya which was subtly sweet and fragrant
- Slice of butter was far too thin and did not provide that creamy mouthfeel
- Coffee was fragrant
Overall: 6 5/10

Additional Notes: While the bread was truly surprisingly fluffy, apart from it, felt that the kaya bread was only average and not worth travelling to the shop for it. Even if you do live in the area, think that there are a lot of other good food stalls nearby at ABC Brickworks Food Centre and Alexandra Food Centre.

In spite of my folk’s grumble on the slightly run-down state of the location, I had a terrific meal at Seng Hong Coffeeshop. We ❤️❤️ their traditional toasted & steamed bread, coffee/milk tea and runny soft-boiled eggs with a dash of dark soya sauce.
Personally, I prefer the toasted bread instead of their steamed version, which was served light, thin and crunchy with a nice spread of kaya & sliced butter. In fact, it’s so toothsome, I ended up re-ordering each item twice.

Soft traditional bread with generous piece of otah. Perfect breakfast! 😋

Hidden gem in a corner of an old estate.
