Gosh standard has dropped so much. No more herbal taste in the soup, and the fish in my bee Hoon was raw.
Burnt in a very delicious way, very filling! 😆
Also had their specialty Mee Sua and the herbal soup taste is really good 👌 Next time will try more of their Zichar dishes 😀
I made my way down after seeing some rave reviews. Their version isn't soupy. Instead it's much like pig trotter beehoon. The beehoon was very powerful, powered by (lots of) lard, spring onion and leek. Although the crab clearly wasn't top grade, the whole dish was reasonable at $39.
So rich. If you think "old fire" soup is oh so satisfying, this is double that. The ginseng wasn't apparent, but I suppose it contributed to the taste. Unfortunately the chicken was quite average.
Yup, this one lives up to the name. Masterfully burnt, there's small black spots and the exterior is dried and crispy. Quite a bit of Liao inside(in the middle) as well. Chili was pretty hot, but understandably, it needs to be strong to come thru. Abit dry, probably good to pair w their signature soup. Abit overpriced imo because the ingredients weren't anything special, but I guess I'll say that only when I have had better at the same price lol
Must order; chao ta bee hoon, prawn paste chicken and herbal mee sua!!
