When we talk about hawker food at serangoon gardens, stalls from the chomp chomp food centre will normally come into the picture. However, there is a gem in the lesser known Serangoon Garden Food Centre that you should know about!

This Mee Goreng ($5.50) here is really worth mentioning. With 3 rather large juicy prawns and several squid slices, the Mee Goreng was fried so well, as the noodles were al dente, not starchy and definitely did not have the alkaline taste. It was not overly oily, but yet still flavourful. The acidity from the lime helps to cut the oiliness further and before I know it, I cleaned up the plate!

A very well balanced Mee Goreng. This may be the best rendition I've had so far.

Decent and average chicken and pork satay that wasย lackingย the strong charred and smoky flavours. The marinate leans towards the sweet side and the pork satay was a little tough. Served with peanut sauce added with pineapple puree. Itโ€™s not that bad but given the choices across the road, there are just much better stalls over there ใ€‹$0.70 Each

Apparently a hidden gem here, read a few reviews that this was the better carrot cake in serangoon garden.

And those reviews were spot on, its really a delicious plate of carrot cake.

$3 only, must try here if u still hungry after lunch.

Donโ€™t underestimate this ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ & ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—น๐—ฒ stall that sells Wanton mee and both Black & White Carrot Cake. So far we hadnโ€™t seen a stall that sells this combination, but we were told from our friends that this is one of the stalls they will definitely visit whenever they comes here. Greeted with a long queue just like the other famous stalls, we decided to join the queue to order the recommended black carrot cake. Itโ€™s very affordable, comes in different pricing of $3, $4, $5. We ordered the $4 and portion is huge! The cake has a soft texture, fried generously with lots of eggs and Chye poh. The most ingredient for Black carrot cake is the black sauce and the black sauce nail it right, itโ€™s sweet enough and flavourful, yet not too sweet for our liking! Every bite is so full of flavours! This will definitely get you hooked to it if you enjoyed sweet black carrot cake, just like us! โ €
