ONE whole lamb shank served on a bed of fluffy long-grain rice. The Emiratis certainly have their own secret in making the best Briyani! I'm not a fan of rice but i'm in love with the fluffiness & aroma of their briyani - perhaps from the secret spices and method of cooking the rice (?). The lamb shank was extremely tender - fall-off-the-bone- kinda tender. It wasn't gamey at all - in part due to the spiced gravy in which it was cooked in. The generous serving easily feeds 2-3pax - highly recommended by the waiter and I can fully understand why!

This tops my list of favourite Emirati dessert! It’s somewhat the Emirati version of the bread and butter pudding. With cubed bread slightly charred at the bottom - hence making it extra fragrant - and thicccccc date syrup that soaked through each cube thoroughly. The almond flakes sprinkled on top provides added crunch to the dessert. It can be cloying and overly sweet after some time - so best to be shared!
