I always come back here for their romali roti since no one does it as well as they do. Also, they turn up the spices in their curries and it tastes much more flavorful as compared to other North Indian restaurants. They’ll also give you a free ice cream on your birthday with a birthday card! Great service!

The crisp fried dough biscuit known as Papri is made from flour and oil. The topping is a colourful combination of chick peas, potatoes, yogurt, mint & coriander chutney, cumin powder, tomato, tamarind dates chutney, red chilli powder and that's about all I jotted down as quickly as I could. The crunchy little bits of noodle like toppings are known as sev made from chickpea noodles.
I was told it will be an explosion of flavours in the mouth and it was truly so. Sweet, sour, tangy and spicy flavours all in a bite with different textures happening all together - creamy, crispy and crunchy.
My favourite from lunch today and I am convinced (finally!) that I do like Indian cuisine after all.

Went for the weekend lunch buffet, at $35++ pax. First good impression was the atmosphere which is at what you expect from a 4+ stars restaurant, along with the friendly staff. The food though was even better than my expectations. I have been to many $30-$40 places, mostly average, so didn't put much hope for this buffet. So glad that I was wrong, the flavors were memorable, and me and family couldn't stop pronouncing how delicious was each dish we tried. The buffet included Papdi Chaat, several of curries, grilled station, saffron rice, naans and several deserts. Although all were delicious, my top notch choices are the Papdi Chaat which was full of flavors and the Chicken curry which was the most tender and succulent chicken I have ever eaten. Definitely will be coming back to Shah Maharani.

Probably my favourite Indian dish - chicken cooked in a velvety sauce containing ghee (hehehe) till extremely succulent! The sauce could do with a bit more sweetness, but it was still a delight to slurp up with the fragrant garlic naan we had on the side.

Assorted vegetables like chili, potato and onion are coated in batter and deep fried. The batter was light and tasty, and this was a pretty nice appetizer, but it's nothing extraordinary.

Chicken rubbed in a tasty marinade and baked in a wood/charcoal-fired oven, which infused the entire chicken with a delicious robust smoky flavour. The chicken was a tad dryer than I'd have liked, but the great flavour made up for it.
