Still feeling a little overwhelmed from a huge dinner treat last evening , all I had eyes for brunch was a clear fish soup for lunch today.
What better surprise than to see a huge signboard saying no msg ! Whoa ! Rare in this day and age . I knew I had to try this .
The fish soup stall has been doing up authentic Teochew fish soup since 1968 and I can see why they are still going strong.
The broth is light and sweet and the slices of fish were fresh and pretty generous . The vegetables and bittergourd slices were cooked till perfection .
Really excellent bowl of fish soup mee sua .
Deep-fried fish roe. Lightly seasoned, the roe was deep-fried in hot oil for a few minutes — just long enough to brown the surface and make it crisp, but keep the inside soft too.
