3-in-one: Ebi Fry + Rosu + Hire // Shin Katsu Combo Set ($34.80) - Though some pieces of the Canadian pork loin cutlet and Canadian pork tenderloin were a tad “porky”, the satisfying set was ideal for those who seek variety on a single plate. The fried prawn was the best for me as it was really fresh tasting and sweet. The batter was exceptional and all fried perfectly - no dry protein here. Lovely with or without the condiments.
Mille-Feuille Black Truffle Katsu Set ($37.80) - My favourite of the two, the Japanese katsu made from thinly sliced pork layered with black truffle was pretty addictive. Earthy and savoury, the succulent, delicate, juicy bites were made even better with the luxe-tasting truffle salt served alongside. I thoroughly enjoyed the aromatic and complementary truffle flavour! A little steep in price, but the refillable umami miso soup, charcoal-grilled rice, freshly shredded cabbage, and house-made pickles made it worthwhile.
