Been on my Wishlist for some time now. Celebrated birthday day and it was worth every penny.

400g Japanese Wagyu - 5/5✨
Melts instantly in your mouth, makes you wanting to try more.

Not many knows but highly recommend ordering the Beef Bone Broth Rice Soup to start, its a flavour packed soup with rice that help start your appetite for the BBQ also that broth is to die for !

Wagyu cut 600g (RM480) with their homemade dipping sauces & Special Salted Beef Tongue (RM40) are really delicious (2 of us actually able to finish all of them)! Don’t forget to make reservation before you come in. Always full house during the Friday night. If there’s only 2 guests, you will be seated at their bar place.

That much money worth of Wagyu better be good! The best cut was the Akami (lean cut belly), which was packed with flavour and scored best on the melt-in-your-mouth factor. The rest, whether it was the sirloin, brisket or chuck were hits-and-misses. Since those are sliced very thin, I suspect it would’ve been better cooked by a pro than by customers - yet those were the ones they left to us to grill (only because when they asked we said no need lol).

The individual saucers of meat salt and dipping sauce are not to be ignored! They’re really good with the meat.

I enjoyed my time at Shin Nihon the last time I was here because of the tip-top service and how they handled the grill so I’ll highly recommend requesting for them to do all the cooking!

One of our finest finds this month is this new, nifty Japanese joint for barbecue and beyond. Shin Nihon shines for its excellent hospitality and a beefy selection of prime Wagyu cuts, charcoal-grilled at your table. Solo diners should snag a seat by the bar, which affords a view of their spirited chefs at work, whereas bigger parties will prefer the more private booth seats. Start slick with the Salted Thick Cut Tongue (RM35), skillfully seared in salt and soy for melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Depending on your budget, follow with either Today's Premium 4 Cuts (RM140) — 200 grams of assorted premium Wagyu — or the simpler Skirt Flank (RM60) for affordably priced umami-packed beef. Spot a hint of Korean dishes on the menu, including a formidable Ishiyaki Stone-Bowl Bibimbap (RM15) that sizzles with flavour. The bar also heralds highballs with a dice game promotion: roll the same number twice for a Whisky Soda (RM20) on the house!
Avg price per person: RM70

The Japanese vibes at this new barbecue spot is inspiring, and not only because 'welcome' is chanted in unison when one enters. The meat is fresh, reasonably priced and well-cooked (unless you insist on doing it yourself) and service is a notch above hospitable.

The Korean Bibimbap is done surprisingly well, and for cheap. But the real deal? A Salted Thick Cut Tongue (RM35).
