Located inside Fu Sen Eating House is Siang Yuen Traditional Roasts, a stall that sells Roasted Delights at the coffeeshop at the junction of Jago Close and East Coast Road. Of the Roast Pork, Roast Chicken and Roast Duck, my favourite was the Roast Chicken for how succulent, juicy and tender the meat was unlike the dry and rough ones you get from other stalls usually, yet with crisp skin. Roast Pork was also very decent with very crisp skin and smoky flavoured meat, though it skews towards the leaner scale. Roast Duck was glistening on the skin, and the meat came off the bones easily tender and skin was crisp. Their last day of operations at this coffee shop would be the 29th July 2015, after which they would be moving to Chai Chee Techopark 750E food court on the 30th July 2015. #hawkerpedia

Had a very intense craving for roasted duck, thus decided to pay this place a visit which was in my burpple list of "To-try meat". Boy!Am I glad to do so! The skin of the roasted duck had a slight crispy skin and was well-marinated with five-spice powder, chinese herbs and salt.
As for the roasted pork belly, the even layers of fats prevent the meat from losing its moisture during the roasted process. The crackling scored really high in terms of crunch!I should have done an instavideo to record the sound! πŸ˜‚ For 98% of the stalls selling "roasted" chicken, they actually do mean fried chicken, that's why I avoid them totally. However, Siang Yuen means business. The chicken went through the same process of charcoal-roasting as the duck. My first place to go for real, legit roasted chicken!
The lady owner, Pauline Ong is a very very chatty and friendly lady, who is super passionate in producing high-quality roasted items for her customers. The comforting ABC soup had no MSG added(I can guarantee that!) and the hor fun was delightly smooth with a slight bite. The king of Ipoh Hor Fun gave his stamp of approval! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I hope to be back here again before they shift to Chai Chee at the end of the month! Such a #fatisfying #lunch! Highly highly recommended! #EileenWantsToCampHereForever #JiakHiddenGems #JiakLocal #YourSingaporeFood

Β All the meats are roasted using charcoal within the stall. Look at that glistering crispy skin! The rather tender meat goes well with rice, kway teow or noodles.

Their roasting method is old school style using charcoal.Roast duck came boneless and was given free Siew Yoke and Char Siew for tasting.πŸ˜‹βœ¨πŸ˜€ Enjoyed the braised sauce and Chilli too.

We are at Siang Yuen, Jago Close Coffeeshop for some yummy roasted meat. The stall owner roasted the meat at the stall using charcoal. The roasted duck and Sio Bak is good. Char Siew not fantastic. Oh ya the Nonya achar that comes with the roasted duck is also good.
