TLDR version- Bland food, small portions. What’s good here is their homemade ice cream (that pistachio was yums) but I could do with more for $5/scoop. Will go to the other yummy ice cream store instead.
Pretty and buttery waffles with super thick pistachio and salted caramel gelato. Deco is simple, yet calming, with friendly and quiet service too which is almost like a rarity now. If only they switch up the flavors more often, then my 'healing' will be complete. 😁
Does anyone share the same thought as me? Chanced upon Simplicite Cafe after dinner at Oh Deli Gourmet Delicatessen and was pleasantly pleased with the offerings over at the ice cream counter.
The order of the night was the Blossom Waffle ($16) which comes with a triple scoop of green tea gelato, hazelnut gelato and passionfruit sorbet. The waffle was given a shower of blueberries and strawberries, and a squeeze of chocolate fudge. This is the kind of waffle that I like, Belgium style that's crisp and light.

The hazelnut flavour from the ice cream cuts through the perfectly crisp waffle and makes it a nice combination. A very good place for waffles. Price: $8.50
Every 'petal' of this flower tasted crispy and abit fluffy, topped up with a nicely done pistachio. Yummy!

A little crispy and dense flower waffle topped with Nuts About You and Cookie Monster flavored ice cream! Ice cream are smooth and towards the creamy end. Not the best waffle around but good enough to satisfy your ice cream waffle cravings!
Blossom waffles from simplicite cafe. The place is nice and quite suitable for little talks. Friendly staffs that offer you drinks when you are seated. They do have interesting ice cream flavours where theres one called "you'll never guess it". Taste somewhat sweet and tangy like a fresh bowl of salad.
Normal waffles and blossom waffle are not very much different in taste, just now it looks and decorated (one with fruits the other one without). 2 scoop of ice cream and one blossom waffles cost about $14. Slightly more expensive then average waffles. But its still worth a try!
Alright, all desserts can cheer one's hectic/stressful/sad day! Let's forget about the fats but emphasize on the happiness. I do write on their FB page by praising their service which is thousand folds better than the FC (well, guess it yourself what's FC café I'm mentioning)! I'll never return to FC but simplicité is the opposite. I wish to go there as it's not packed and crowded and stressed and the people there are just too friendly. They have the weird tastes of ice cream, try it out yourself as I'm not going to mention each of them. One thing good is that their operating hours are slightly longer than any other café! Try it out!
$5 single scoop; $8 double scoop; New gelato parlour tucked opposite the popular Penny University along East Coast Road. Pretty chill place to hangout if you stay around the area and got nth better to do.
Lovely, simple and peaceful interior to just go in and relax. I tried the regular waffles with pistachio, mango sorbet and hazelnut ice cream, and the ice cream was pretty darn delicious and of quality although the waffles were kind of soft but I think the blossom waffles are crispier with fruits and definitely worth a try. The price is pretty reasonable and decent.

The waffles were pretty normal but I really liked their pistachio, it's certainly less flavorful compared to Fatcat but still good! Oh and their customer service was really nice too, really friendly ☺️.

One of the few new ice-cream cafés in the East. Simplicite Cafe offers two types of waffles; Blossom (which comes in an attractive shape with fruits) and the Classic. The waffle was not really too impressive given that it seemed a wee but overdone hence a bit bitter. Gelato were really good however; the Hazelnut was smooth and nutty with the nut's distinctive chocolatey flavour well brought out, while the Fleu Di Latte is a milk flavour which is really rich and thick.
The passionfruit assaults explosively with tingling spikes of sour, with seed shrapnel for additional impact - loved it. I won't spoil the secret behind "U Can't Guess This!" (hint: it's a fruit), but this particular ice cream as a waffle accompaniment is akin to frying saffron with bean sprouts - it feels spiritually meant to exist someplace classier in concept, like a cocktail or fancy dessert. 3.75/5

Not the usual round or square but shaped like a flower. Aptly named "Blossom". Lovingly adorned with fresh cream and strawberries. A dollop of my favorite chocolate ice cream sits in the middle like royalty flanked by the "petals" that looked like royal subjects.

Blossom was of the right thickness (slightly thinner than the usual round ones) and petals were crispy with a fluffy interior. A tinge of regret to demolish a perfectly baked flower waffle.

It was really a light and enjoyable meal with the waffle being flavourful.and fluffy, going well with the milk and dark.chocolate ice-cream. For improvements, the crust could be a lil bit more crispy tho! Nonetheless, overall a cosy place to have a simple yet decent afternoon snack with good and hospitable service! 😎😉👍🌼

Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the Varlhona Chocolate gelato, which arguably stole the show. Overall, Simplicite is worth a visit if you're looking for desserts at the Katong area #nofilter
