Sinpopo Restaurant (Joo Chiat)

747 Wishlisted
~$20/pax
An ultra-retro environment that serves famous local cuisine in Joo Chiat. Sinpopo Brand may not strike you as a date kinda place, but it does bring a fun element to the night. Although the food is not quite rave-worthy, the idea of sharing an ice ball in a laid back 50s style eatery playing oldies on the 'radio' can be quite charming. Perhaps you could take a stroll along Joo Chiat Road after dinner, stop by Sinpopo, talk for hours about your childhood, and just enjoy each other ;)

Mediocre Gula Melaka Cake.
Overrated.

Not to mention, the attitude and service here is really bad and slow. Staff choose to ignore your calls even after you have tried to reach out to them several times.

Never ever coming here again.
Come at your own risk! πŸ₯΅

$5~$6 for mediocre Sinpopo Local Bean Kopi-Os.
The Sweet Milk Foam tasted just like Kopi-O with Condensed Milk.

You are better off getting $1 Kopi-Os from Coffeeshops.

Wings was very crispy and meat was tender, the crispy skin matches well with the sambal sauce.
The sauce was like a liquid sambal mixed with soya sauce, which gives a salty & spicy flavour.
Definitely order this again

One of the best pork chop I ever have. The pork chop is served like a steak with the bone attached.
It was grilled perfectly and it’s not too dry. Goes well with their curry sauce.
Definitely one of the mains I would recommend. πŸ‘πŸ»β€οΈ

I think it was ordinary. Just taste like canned longan with blended ice, to make it look like a slushy drink.
Maybe not worth my $7.....

It was a light cake which will simulate your palate. At first it look like a simple milk cake, but there’s pistachio nuts and cinnamon powder on the cake. Love the how the cinnamon powder complimented the milk cake & the pistachio well. πŸ‘πŸ»
