Put these thicc cuts of juicy roast beef, kombu aioli and salsa verde wrapped in a soft flour tortilla to your lips and I guarantee you’ll find the punchy flavours lit. My only regret is I had to share mine.

Taco ‘bout a feast – 12 Asian-inspired tacos chockful of ingredients brimming with umami and richness. Variety is the name of the game here – we had Torikatsu Curry Chicken, Kombu Sweet Potato and Mushroom, Pork Belly Sisig, and Sukiyaki Beef amongst others. What we liked most were the clean tasting yet bold flavours of the Roast Beef and Vietnamese Cha Ca Cod tacos, the former a perfectly pink, tender medium rare and coated in herbaceous salsa verde, the latter, filled with crunchy fried fried cod and a veritable flavour party with sriracha mayo, dill, mint, charred scallions, crushed peanuts and coriander.

Accompanying the barramundi are charred leeks and a duo of cremini and enoki mushrooms. Instead of mackerel, which is usually used in assam laksa, the choice of barramundi in this instance works perfectly for this dish as the firm meat texture brings a certain bite to complement the broth. Towards the end of the meal, you get an option to choose between the Tropical Tau Huey or Orange & Chocolate, which we got each of them to share. The former is a refreshing passionfruit granita, paired with macerated mango with chilli and coconut tau huey that a good blend of Asian and Western influences while the latter brought some Peranakan fare into the dessert with a candlenut ice cream and preserved orange peel chocolate mousse. This marks the end of a fine dine-in meal and we were fortunate to have had the opportunity for this meal prior to the circuit breaker as we are confined to our own home now.

The dinner menu consists of a snack, appetizer, main and dessert for each pax. For the snack, their signature Chicken Biscuit 2.0 is part of the option and this is something that we highly recommend you order from the restaurant. Made using chicken fat, the cookie base is topped with curry spiced cream cheese, chicken skin and finished with a turmeric mushroom dust. The explosion of flavours is unlike any chicken biscuit that you can get commercially and its so addictive that one is never enough. For the appetizer, the charcoal grilled pork ribs is our choice of order, which comes in a kombu crust and served with preserved vegetables and a sweet potato puree that has been spiked with mala spices. The tender meat falls off-the-bone easily and the surprise factor will definitely the myriad of flavours from sweetness to savouriness and numbing.
