Finally tried the Smiths authentic fish and chips. I wonโ€™t say it matches what i had in london but it was a pretty decent meal.

I had the haddock and chips. The fish was the highlight, nicely battered, still flaky but not starchy. The chips was kinda soggy but i didnโ€™t mind as it was not meant to be the commercial fries in fast food restaurants. $25 is a tad pricey and should have come with the peas or a free drink...

Not bad at all, the batter was just nice (not too heavy) and the haddock had a good bite. Was served piping hot so it was nice n crisp, and was still q crisp even at the end of the meal. Chips were basically potato chunks (rly british style, like those I had in the UK), we added lots of vinegar and also dipped them in a blue cheese dip (+$1.10). The blue cheese dip tasted funky at first, but I liked it more as the meal progressed. Mushy peas were decent. -W

Generous serving of chips and well battered and fried fish!

Pricing wise might be on the higher end though. Will only suggest the place if you are in dire need of fish and chips. :)

I truly agree that they have one of the best fish & chip in town. The fried fish was prepared hot, fresh, soft and juicy; with crispy but not so oily skin. Iโ€™m glad I couldnโ€™t finish the whole fish without feeling overwhelming.

The chips was made from real potato with some of it still intact with the potato skin. Even though the price was a bit pricey, but you got the good quality fish so it is still worth it. $22

Hmm the potatoes were actually the star of the dish to me haha but overall the meal felt a tad too oily for me and the fish was on the dry side

The fish was battered well and turned out really golden brown, while the meat inside was still pretty moist. The chips (fries) were nicely fried and seasoned.

The only small reservation I had was the price. Not sure if the choice of fish used (as opposed to Dory) justifies the higher prices as I do not see the incremental benefit (both in terms of value & taste). Nonetheless, I will still head back to try the bangers & mash and scotched eggs. ๐Ÿ˜
