Decent portion with many pork pieces. The broth was a little too salty for me, but not so salty like the usual ramen in Japan and Singapore, so I was able to savour some broth on its own. Noodles are chewy. Egg is delicious. Would still prefer the Butariki Ishinabe though.

From the chilled refreshing appetizer of Goma Tofu ($3.50), that is doused in a sesame sauce and topped with dried bonito flakes and spring onions to the Tori Nanban ($5.90) of chicken karaage served with a creamy herbed tartar sauce, these two side dishes are joined by the Ika Geso (Squid) Karaage ($6.50) and Crispy Whitebait Fry ($6.90). If you are in the mood for some seafood, the squid karaage is battered and deep fried till golden brown while the whitebait is sprinkled with seaweed powder to give it a slight umami savouriness.

To go with these new side dishes, we got the Toroniku Uobushi Tonkotsu Ramen ($14.90) and Butariki Ishinabe ($13.90), the latter a stone-pot rice dish made with Niigata Koshihikari Rice and topped with pan-fried barbecued pork, spring onions, seaweed, raw egg and housemade sauce served on the side in which you mix it before eating.

Toroniku Uobushi Tonkotsu Ramen (~SGD13.90++): Super gao ramen broth with a lovely umami flavour 🤩 Definitely not for the faint hearted because it’s pretty salty, but very worth it’s price! The pork cheeks were heavenly as well - soft, melty with a slight charred taste. Will be back! 👍

Toroniku Uobushi Tonkotsu Ramen (Cha Shu)
($8.90++)
Yaki Gyoza (4 pcs for $2.80++)

We ordered the same ramen and enjoyed it together with the gyoza. Both dishes taste great while served hot. Noodle texture was just nice, hard. Soup was tasty and Chashu was generous in portion. Staff were very friendly and provided ziplock bags for our masks, which was very thoughtful.

Thin & firm Hosomen ramen noodles in double-boiled soup comprising of signature Tonkotsu & premium bonito, crowned with unctuous slices of seared pork cheek.

The texture of noodles were just perfect for my liking and the pork cheek slices were simply delicious! If I really had to nitpick, I’d say I wished the broth was more robust.

P.S. Don’t bother trying their truffle edamame 🤣

Pan-fried Pork Gyoza ($4) with thin ‘wrap’ was a good starter

Grand Tonkotsu with Hosomen - thin straight noodle ($13.90) was my choice as I always love the richness in pork bone broth and this option gave me a taste of 3 different pork cuts - fatty pork belly, cha shu and my favorite tenderly soft pork jowl 😋
