Again, a somewhat light but deep braise, different from the braising liquid of the pig trotters

It's got a slightly chewy texture, harder than my ideal but still pretty good

For this price I won't say it's particularly stunning though

I can't judge tea but this wasn't bad at all. The presentation is very unique and it allows the tea to cool quickly which was nice.

Very lovely that they deboned it, makes for satisfying eating. It's somewhat mild a braised but it's braised pretty well, and quite tender too.

Not bad at all if not for the queue

Quite tender, soup was flavourful and peppery enough. HOWEVER, both dragon ribs and short ribs? weren't available and that's very unpleasant

Given that all the song fa branches taste the same, there's really no reason to come here and queue in the hot sun for 20-30mins with tourists

Do visit Song Fa at lunchtime to enjoy their set lunches, which cost around $12 and come with youtiao, peanuts and a drink in addition to the bak kut teh soup! While the peanuts were ordinary, the youtiao was really well done and was served to us steaming hot and really crispy. The drink was subpar though - it was supposed to be a honey drink but it was pretty tasteless.

Song Fa serves the peppery type of bak kut teh, and the soup is free flow so you should drink it to your heart's content! We got the sliced fish as it is pretty tender and does not really get stuck in between your teeth (unlike the pork ribs). However, we encourage you to get Song Fa's signature pork ribs in soup if you have yet to try it before.

We visited at lunchtime on a weekday and had to queue around 20 minutes to enter. You may wish to note that the staff may allocate you to an outdoor seat if there are no indoor seats available.

My go-to place for bak kut teh whenever I'm craving for some hot peppery soup! I'm quite sure this place needs no introduction. Despite it being touristy (not that there are any tourists now lol), it still serves good quality bkt :) yumz
