The noodles quite firm to bite. I find the big fish cake abit salty. Though i like that the fishballs are hand made, i find it abit tough. The fishballs not bouncy. The fish dumpling texture is slimy because they use sweet potato flour. The fillings taste like minced meat with pepper, not fish. But the dumplings are indeed big. I probably wont come down just for this.

Best fish ball noodles in SG period. Try it and let me know if there is a better place!

Best herkiao I’ve had, hands down!! The fish paste skin is hand-rolled, and is made up of fish meat and tapioca flour. It’s then filled with a well-seasoned meat filling, which was fragrant and not too salty. The skin has a nice bite to it, it’s thin but somehow bouncy. The herkiao was very tasty - the insides have slippery, kinda goopy part, which was such a textural delight. So good in terms of both texture and flavour.

The handmade fishballs, taupok, and fish roll were pretty decent, not the nicest I’ve had (shoutout to hup kee’s fishballs and taupok which r the best) but still better than average; handmade definitely trumps factory made ones.

The noodles were reasonably nice too - springy, not too hard, no alkaline taste. The sauce was alright, I asked for no chilli so they used tomato sauce. I added more vinegar after, as I prefer a punchier bowl of noodles.

Definitely will return!

My expectations were low to be honest, too many times, I read good reviews and often left dissatisfied.

To my surprise, this was an excellent bowl of fishball noodles, the chilli was great, fishball also good, but the fish dumplings were damn wow.

I will definitely return again and again.

The shop opens at 11.30am, at 11.30am, already starting to get crowded. Take note that this place quite out of the way, so people really made the effort to come here to eat.

The ingredients are damn huge, so don't need order too much, a medium bowl was already quite filling for me.

Noodles were quite average but fish balls were quite nice. However I would go for the $5 one the next time instead cos it was quite filling!

I have read many good reviews of the famous fish dumplings from Song Kee Fishball Noodle and I finally got to try it today! We ordered the dry Fishball Noodle ($7 for medium) and Mixed Soup ($8) and here’s a word of advice: you really don’t need to upsize the noodles as the size of the fishballs is HUGE and they can be quite filling😅

Noodle-wise, the texture is not bad and it is tossed in a fragrant chilli sauce that is packed with dried shrimps. The fishballs, meatballs, fish cakes and fish dumplings are fresh and bouncy, and they go well with the chilli sauce. The fish dumpling is quite unlike the other fish dumplings I have tried - the skin is chewier and the minced meat filling is well seasoned. I also like the addition of taupok stuffed with fish paste as it soaks up the delicious sauce and offers a different texture from the fishballs, fish cake etc.

Personally, I wish the fishballs are a little smaller so that it doesn’t get jelak towards the end of the meal. Nonetheless, this is still a pretty decent bowl of fishball noodles!
