Ordered the Casarecce with Truffle Pesto and Porcini Mushroom and Wagyu Beef Cheek with Roast Peppers. I've always like chewier pasta but the one served today was abit too hard even for me. I says today cause the previous time I came the pasta was always perrrrfectttt. The sauce was abit thick but good. The beef was practically melting in my mouth with the sauce tasting like the chinese dan gui herbs. But that's it. Had couple of Paulaner Lager as well. Full and Satisfying. Paid $68.30 in all with a burpple one for one for the mains.

Popped by on a Friday evening, and was really happy to see a live band playing some tunes. As per the reviews on Burpple, I ordered the hot favourite - the Wagyu Beef Cheeks for my main.

The portion is humongous, this particular cow must have some huge cheeks (I wonder which ones in particular) for they were certainly sizable and very very filling. And as advertised, the meat was indeed very tender and parts easily under the knife. However, there was a strong gaminess that accompanied the meat, and that may deter those who isn’t a fan of such a flavour. I, for one, was overpowered by the umami flavour and the sauce was pretty salty as well. To quell that, id suggest pairing it with the mash and roasted peppers at the side.

SONS makes its own sausages. 3-Meat Sausage, Broccoletti & Mustard Sauce ($29) is a new main that features its housemade sausage packed with pork, beef and lamb, seasoned with herbs and pepper. Served sizzling hot, what first hit us was the mouthwatering, intense aroma of freshly grated parmesan cheese wafting from the hot pan. I like the way this dish is being executed, which stands out from a regular sausage recipe.

Ordered the beef cheeks, crab linguine pasta, pasta with foie gras, magharita pizza, Spanish pork ribs and sea urchin carbonara.. I'd say I'll definitely come back here for the pastas and pizzas.. the beef cheeks did not appeal to me but my friends liked it so I Guess it's not bad too.

Now this is THE thing to order at SONS - the Wagyu Beef Cheek. Paired with roasted peppers and creamy mash this dish literally blew my mind away. My knife slid through like butter as the meat was super tender; coming apart immediately upon contact with little force.

Beef craving has been officially satisfied. It was oh so good that it made me go "Damn SONS." Seriously.
