One of the better ones I've had. The meat was what you expect from this dish - soft and fatty. But it's their preserved vegetable that's incredible. Salty just right and superb texture.

A distance from how I remembered it. Maybe I've been spoilt by the good chicken rice I've been eating. This was very basic, apart from the restaurant plating. Their ginger is still the star.

I know this is a common dessert. But it's sour. I don't get it.

Hand chopped, tender minced pork belly, with crunchy diced water chestnuts, are carefully shaped into a pagoda, topped with a salted duck egg.
Slowly steamed to lock in the maximum savoury salty flavour of the meat juices, which run clear when cut. Yummy.

fried mee suah, steamed fish slices and hometown beancurd. all favorites and relatively healthy! tried a couple of different outlets for soup restaurant and I think Hougang Mall's outlet is the best in my neighborhood so far (vs. compasspoint and nex).

- Yong Chow Fried Rice 揚州炒飯🍚⁣

Recommend the fried fish belly for the fish is tender and fresh, the ginger dark sauce with spring onion goes really well with rice too!

Next is the spicy sweet potato leaves, pretty nice, can taste the shrimp (蝦米) in the sambal chilli, another dish to go with the rice (很下飯)~

⁣Also like their yang zhou fried rice, bits of luh cheong brought out the fragrance of rice and the rice are not too dry/ not too moist (粒粒分明), not bad at all~

As for the tofu, not too sure is it the cornstarch that makes the sauce lumpy, and the dish turned out to be a bit disgusting, taste wise (a bit to the sweet side), also normal normal, can skip this...
