Available between 2.30pm and 6pm at the Bar and Lounge area of Spago are these Kulfi Pops.
Essentially an Indian style of ice-cream, they are a little denser and creamier than the typical popsicle. Made from scratch (but of course), the flavours change with the season. And right now, it’s an Orange Vanilla and a Chocolate with Cherry that rule. Trust me when I say they are both deliciously formidable in flavour.
Another thing I love about these frozen delights is that they come in the most inviting of sizes: big enough for some proper satisfaction but small enough not to trigger the guilt police.

I have said this before and I will say it again, the 3–course Set Lunch at Spago at $45++, is extremely worth it.
Supporting my above statement is the Pate de Campagne. It is an option amongst a total of four appetisers in the set lunch menu, and has the hefty slices of country terrine-style pate served with pickles, both of which are made in-house by Chef de Cuisine Greg and his team.
I love that the seasoning in this was spot-on and texturally, it had a robust chunkiness, thanks partly to the presence of pistachios mingling with the meat. Supremely satisfying stuff.

As of last Saturday, my favourite grilled cheese sandwich in Singapore leveled up. How is that even possible? Two words: Black. Truffle.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, you now have the option to pimp up the already incredible sandwich of housemade cranberry walnut bread with ooey-gooey melted gruyere and mozzarella.

When you decide to spoil yourself with this extra decadent version, know that it includes a generous slather of specially-made black truffle butter and freshly shaved black truffle within. Then when the piping hot, crispy deliciousness appears in front of you, more freshly-shaved black truffle will rain upon it.

Do note that Chef Greg does not use a single drop of truffle oil in this. So please do not order it expecting the same strong scent of truffle you find in truffle fries. Because real truffle is a lot more sensuous, possessing a subtle and rich earthy aroma.

Here is some info about pricing. The original grilled cheese sandwich costs $18++ but you can savour it for $14++ during Spago’s “Sundowners” (Mon to Thur, 4pm to 7pm). The version with Black Truffles is available everyday between 6pm to 10pm for $45++.
