Pigging out on this Pork KATSU Curry Rice ($18.80++) from @spicyrockkk! 🐷🐷🐷
.
For their curry rice bowls, choose from mild, regular or super to suit your spice tolerance! 👌🏻 For a more manageable heat, I opted for mild spice 🌶, which already had a spicy kick! 🔥 Really liked the creamy & smooth curry 🍛, perfect for dousing on the katsu & fluffy rice mixed with nori 🍙
.
What caught my eye was the generous portion of pork, lightly breaded & fried to the perfect golden brown! 😍 While I would prefer it to be more tender, I still could not resist a few more bites after pouring the curry over! 🤤

Cuz Singaporeans love our food spicyyyy 🌶, Spicy Rock is somewhere you can explore to get the heat on! 🔥 Conveniently located at B2 of Capitol Piazza, this Jap restaurant is helmed by a true blue Japanese chef! 👨🏻‍🍳
.
Started the night with their Fried Chicken Karaage with Salted Egg Chili Sauce ($9.80++)! 🐓 Cant resist fried chicken really & that creamy sauce was mindblowingly good!! 💕
.
Sashimi lovers can try their Salmon Mentaiko Carpaccio ($9.80++) - dip the sashimi 🐟 in the roasted sesame sauce for some flavour burst! ✌🏻 Loved having some Edamame ($3.80++) to munch on while catching up with friends 😊
.
Quenched our thirst with their lovely Sakura Calpis Soda ($6.80++) 😍 & Iced Matcha Latte ($7.80++) 🍵. The former was refreshing while I found the latter to be slightly diluted.
.
More about their mains in next post! 👌🏻

If you happen to find yourself here, their salmon don is a better option than their omurice. It comes with decent slices of salmon, tamago, tobiko, some coleslaw, and Japanese seaweed in the middle. It isn’t anything amazing, but it’ll do the job if you’re just looking to have a lunch.

This was a quite disappointing dining experience. Aside from the food itself, the server told us that the list of items we can order from on burpple beyond is less than what was stated in the terms and conditions, which was quite a misrepresentation. (They said the burpple description wasn’t updated, but it’s been more than a month since I visited, so I highly doubt their words.)

Anyway, the food was very subpar. The curry was a bit too sweet tasting and had really small chunks of minced beef inside so it honestly felt like I was eating a meatless dish. The omelette also tasted like a regular fried egg with mayonnaise and it was a struggle to finish this dish. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

The portion size is big, curry contains meat which is very filling. Worth a try!!

Burpple 1 for 1.

Another value for money place for a meal! Was skeptical to order this as it didn’t look like there was going to be a lot of sashimi but I guess the thick foie gras made up for the lack of salmon.

I’m guessing the sauce at the side is supposed to be a little spicy but it wasn’t. Although it’s a nice touch to go with the Japanese rice.

Came with quite a lot of 🥑 too
